What a Amazing segment! I now understand how tokenization and fractional investing can be done with any major asset, that would be out of reach for the average person. Becoming a minor banker and receiving returns on monthly agreements as well as appreciation of asset is awesome! Looking at investing as a security circumvents a lot of the issues with tradfi red tape today! Thanks Max!

Tokenized property! Sounds good,but, makes no sense on who owns it, who pays the bills? If it's the owner occupier, then why would they also be paying money to token holders? If there's no occupier, then who pays the land taxes and bills? The property would be in default and confiscated. All these people are doing is selling a complicated and disguised cfd,(certificate for difference). That's why it was so hard for them to answer the basic question asked by the crowd member on the same subject. This screams WEF, you will own nothing and be happy!

This is a great, real-world explanation of what is being built, now! Eventually, this might also blur the distinction between 'money' and 'property': Say, for example, that my local bakery would accept a token for .1 gram of platinum in exchange for a nice, fresh bread. Is that a monetary exchange, or is it barter?

I've worked in institutional RE for 30 plus yrs and experienced the S&L crisis and the GFC. My concern is that the big players ie Wall Street will take advantage of retail investors with respect to valuations by using tokenization, particularly when credit disappears. For example, many of the large building were bought with cheap debt which are underwater with current rates. My guess is many retail investors will jump on the chance to own a large office building in say downtown LA or San Francisco at a value experienced institutional investors wouldn't go near. What could happen is the technology platform gets the bad rap for bad behaviour. Think of another FTX situation that hurts "crypto" which had nothing to do with crypto. Are we to trust Wall Street types to "protect" smaller investors? Good luck with that.

Valid point. Chinese investors however would leap at the opportunity to own a percentage of commercial real estate overseas. It's a different ball game in China when it comes to "moving" their assets overseas. It's why certain countries have built huge amounts of condominium buildings which Chinese investors have never even stepped inside have been flipping between them as it allows them to move assets abroad. So it's a system that I can foresee many leaping all over.

The important point is for the technology platform to protect itself from bad publicity from potentially bad actions. Crooks will be crooks... just don't be the driver in the getaway car.

Buying an asset in real estate to invest in property by providing finance instead of buying the property itself. I can see the mortgage industry may be upset as they won't presumably be in a position to manipulate interest rates. Buying the token provides the finance. However the investors get possibly an asset rising in value over years just as with owning real estate generally.

Exactly. The powers that be will never allow their control to be taken away this way. They'll pass whatever laws they need to to keep the current system unchallenged and the lower classes having to slave away. Same with XRP. The big banks aren't going to allow it to replace the current infrastructure.
