This is the form of Vader that didn’t lose to Obi Wan, this is the Vader that would overthrow Sidious and become the emperor. Obi Wan saved the galaxy bc there is no rebellion to THIS Vader.
People are complaining about Anakin's fighting here but I think it fits with the context. This did not feel like a Ahsoka was fighting Anakin, it felt like she was fighting Vader
Are people stupid don't get me wrong ahsoka is great duelist but one she can't beat anakin too anakin would not need to try in a fight and i see both vader and anakins style but i feel vaders style is a lot more of anakins power attacks but if anakin didn't need to move fast and was using brute force then it would look like vader fighting
@@nathangallegos9304 still, he isn’t canon yet and only his helmet appeared as an Easter egg. Besides in canon, Vader doesn’t exactly have a ton of time to fully train an apprentice because of the comics, games and shows. If starkiller becomes canon, his backstory will have to be changed… that is unless it’s just shameless fan service with barely any basis in canon, in which case keep him in legends.
@@angerami77 I'd say he was 80% there at the time (killing the younglings and the Separatists cemented the initiation) but there was still a chance he could've turned back. It only took his humiliating defeat on Mustafar, and the loss of Padme, to let himself be steeped in the Dark Side. Even then he wasn't fully 100%, cause the spark of Anakin still remained that only Luke could reignite and bring back in ROTJ.
He started turning when he murdered Dooku and that is what would have changed everything if he lived Anakin would have never turned because he would have never had anything to start his turn same goes if Qui-Gon survived he would have never turned because he wouldn't have killed Dooku it all revolves around that scene that most people thought ment nothing but it is the cause of episodes 4 through 9 and eventually 10 which will suck but not my point
Yeah. This was slo mo for him. And then at the end it was slo mo for Ahsoka. They wanted Anakin to lose but the way they showed it was totally retarded. Hayden totally dominates in lightsaber skill, sry but Rosario does not hold a candle to him.
This is the second time Hayden has had to slow down for the crew to follow him. The only ones who match his speed are Ray and Ewan. Rosario and the camera work couldn’t keep up with him here.
Younglings: Master Anakin! There are too many of them! Anakin: *ignites lightsaber* Younglings: But not only too many, too womany and childreny too! Anakin: *deactivates lightsaber*
Anakin: "You've learned Nothing." Ahsoka: "don't say that!" Anakin: I gave you a choice. You may not be a Jedi anymore, but you are still a youngling because you're younger than me." Ahsoka: *Looks at Luke pleadingly* Luke: *shakes his head and points desperately at his robot hand* "he's not kidding, he did it to his own sooon! run hoe, ruuuuun!" Ahsoka: 0_0 "n-....no..." Anakin: _"Incorrect."_ *ignites the Youngling-Slayer 9000*
My theory is that this is actually Anakin and he really is there to complete her training. Ashoka is stubborn and stuck in her ways and so was Anakin. With Anakin redeeming himself and being the chosen one, I think he is able to balance the light and darkness in him, which is allowing him to transform in and out of "Darth Vader." He's trying to teach her that if she doesn't change the path she's on and keeps blaming herself for everything, she'll end up taking the same route as Anakin or end up dying because of it. If Anakin really wanted to kick her ass he absolutely would but that wasn't the point he was trying to get across.
That's exactly what happened. When Ashoka says "I won't fight you" he replies with "I've heard that before." This is exactly what Luke said to him in their final confrontation on the Death Star II, "I won't fight you father." So if Anakin in this scene was just the manifestation of the Ashoka's connection to the force, there's no way she would have known about that (Meaning Anakin wouldn't reply that way). It confirms that this is actually Anakin.
It kinda doesn’t matter if Anakin was serious or not bc if he killed her then the series is over. Hopefully ppl don’t get hung up on Anakin “losing” bc it’s not about that. It’s about teaching Ahsoka.
@@sentientmustache8360 Ah yes you're right. Since there is a lot of speculation if this was even Anakin or just inside Ahsoka's mind I'd hope for a clear force ghost appearance of Anakin. Perhaps we will get one but either way I'm happy
I can tell that Lucas's stunt team did a very thorough job teaching Christensen fencing. Even almost twenty years after Revenge of the Sith, he's still doing very well. It's very clear that Rosarie Dawson is having a tough time keeping up.
The point was Anakin was training her. Not fighting her in a duel to the death. Half of the people in the comments are still butt hurt about the Sequels, so they hate for the sake of hating.
Istg some people need everything to be spelled out for them. The scenes literally begins with the words "I am here to finish your training" . If Anakin/ Vader really wanted to harm her, he would've used the force at some point and the duel would've ended in seconds.
@@Caboose47 oh. fair enough. the Book, the Mandalorian, Rogue One, the Bad Batch, Kenobi, Ahsoka, and the rest of the little side-item shows have either been pretty decent, or have been lame ducks with a few gems scattered throughout. But as far as mainstream star wars it's largely been ruined
The way he just toys with her was so dope to see , you can only imagine how much of a menace he would’ve been had he actually tried , but the lesson he taught her was amazing
I can see why people complain about his fighting but since this is the vader side of anakin a lot of people tend to forget I think that's he sort of toying with her how vader toyed with opponents before in the past, he necessarily didn't consider her his level yet therefore didn't go all out cause she didnt push them there. Not only that it was a test, and I absolutely love that we saw this version of anakin again. - Only edit I'm making the reason I said he's toying with her is as in he's testing her, not to kill her. A better word for it would be holding back yes. Also for the people tired of the "toying" word I get that vader took opponents serious, and wasnt one to underestimate but a lot of people forget that when anakin first become vader he was cocky but turned into a more serious vader. So I'm referring to the time period around after he lost to obi wan. - One major last thing goes out to DIRECTLY to the dude who talked about me saying toying and for anyone siding with him, yeah of course a full power anakin non burnt would be toying with her/holding back to even assume ashoka would be on anakin's no suit form, is absolutely barbaric to assume if you do assume that or fanboy for ashoka like that, I'll I can say is you're a idiot. Usually don't get pissed off unless it's against someone with no common sense. - Keep in mind this is just what I think on the matter.
This is Vader she is fighting in this fight. You can tell by the red lightsaber and Sith eyes sure, but also in the facial expression and pure power he exerts. Even the moment where he is twisting her back and grimacing down at her is a perfect shot recreation from when Vader fought Obi-Wan on Mustafar.
This isn't him "fighting" her, his testing her, yes his physically dueling her but his objective isn't to win...the whole point of this episode is him completing her training, do yall not pay attention😂 😂😂
Given that he spent the last twenty years of his life drenched in the dark side, not to mention the years of being an emotional mess he was prior to that, it's no surprise his idea of training and teaching still has that dangerous edge to it 😅
And still joking around while in a not so serious manner despite being dead and appearing on a vision because his apprentice is in a critical life threatening limbo underwater 😂😂😂
@@carloz1536this is nothing new even back during the clone wars when he was still a jedi Anakin would train Ahsoka by having the 501st gang up on her and shoot at her so she is quit accustom to being trained harshly by him but even though it was harsh she got throw it and it was this harsh training that ultimately kept her alive not only throughout the clone wars but also during order 66 and the time of the empire and after
My friend was saying to me “He should have turned into his Vader look when he came out of the mist, not just flashes.” But I disagreed. This to me IS Vader. Anakin in the Vader suit is Vader on life support. This is Vader in full power. I’m sure when Anakin was in the suit, he always would have preferred to be in his prime state before his fight with Obi-Wan. It makes sense that ghost Anakin would want to be in his prime state from here on
I don't say anyone complaining his fighting style. In fact it looks exactly like how he fought in Revenge of the Sith, Hayden knows how to make it feel the character and I think he did a great job🙌
This is actually really good choreography. It’s more realistic with the flash of prequel spins and such. People saying it’s bad won’t accept anything less than Anakin vs obiwan. Also, go look at actual real sword fights. This is actually incredibly realistic if we get rid of the spins and stuff. Wether you like it or not is another thing, but that doesn’t mean it’s bad choreography.
Hang on. Anakin vs Obi Revenge of the Sith - sure, its not as good. Vader vs Kenobi was awful. But if we "got rid of the spins and stuff", it wouldn't be lightsaber combat. I reckon you should go work for Disney as a Star Wars advisor, you'll fit right in.
@@Revan8888Many people disagree with you and think Vader vs. Kenobi from the Kenobi series (final fight, not first fight) was EXTRAORDINARY. I'm tired of people complaining that we're not seeing Ep III style fight choreography. The fight choreography of the prequel trilogy was almost too much and often looked like something out of a Japanese magna series. I can accept it as representing a high period in the Jedi fight style just before the fall when everything was at an extreme, but the sort of fighting style embodied here and in the Kenobi vs. Vader fight is much more realistic and does a good job of blending prequel trilogy and original trilogy styles to reach a happy medium.
@@RageCage1701the episode 3 choreography was awesome tho it was supposed to be fast cause they are peak force users. The slow stuff is meh but this was decent, certainly better than kenobi
what makes light saber duels so magically is the fact *they arent realistic.* because star wars is set in a fictional universe where certain groups of people have magical power. of fucking course people like it when they are doing flips and shit. look at the old republic cinematics, those sabre battles look insane, yes they are not live action but those kinds of battles are what many people like to see. the fights here in ahsoka were good but i liked ani vs obi wan more in ep 3. it is what is is.
@@RageCage1701 this is the difference between the fans and the kids I guess. Maybe it's the enjoyment and the level that Hayden and Ewan got while practicing that shines through? It's clear from Anakin vs Ahsoka that Rosalind Dawson is the reason the fight was slow.
The way he said “you lack conviction“ 😮😮 I can’t stop hearing that with Vader (Earl Jones) voice, it reminds me of “I find your lack of faith disturbing “
Seeing Hayden/Anakin fight with a lightsaber so awesomely makes me want to pick up a (fake) sword in real life & try to do that. Being able to do those moves would be awesome.
For anyone who’s complaining about anakins fighting style ( which aren’t many ) need to understand he’s teaching her a valuable lesson not trying to smoke her for no reason😂😂😂
@@vladtheimpalerofficial dumbass, the entire point was to teach her that if she actually wanted to live, she needed to fight like she means it not live in regret and fear
@@vladtheimpalerofficial He was playing the part of "Vader" so she could get closure. This is the force ghost of anakin, as in redeemed anakin post ROTJ. In no world was he actually trying to kill her lmao
You didnt watch the episode or you don't have media literacy. He says "You learned nothing, back to the beginning". What is so hard to understand?@@vladtheimpalerofficial
As i see it, all Anakin has been doing is to force Ahsoka to fight. Her hearts not in it, thats why she was giving up and die in the ocean. And that will just not do for Anakin. Thats why he tells her she lacks conviction and pushes her again and again until she finally finds her will to fight. It was never about defeating her, he used dark side because she wouldnt be able to fight him if he didnt. It is her master after all and redeemed too. So anakin did what he could to teach her once more.
the way she "floats" away after anakin kicks her at 0:48 with that "0_0" look on her face is too hilarious to take the rest of the scene seriously, but this is a lot of fun to watch lmao
This is fantastic. The way the scene was written and acted is already so good. But it's so nice to see an edit like this and just enjoy it. No going "Oh this should have been the music for this scene. Now it'll never be the same."
Один из Лучших моментов, всего фильма. Как же Хейден Кристенсен хорош, его движения и стиль боя, он действительно избранный. Дисней снимайте больше фильмов с ним, пока он молод
I love that I can actually believe these are things Vader would say; & I can easily imagine JEJ saying these lines - unlike most of the other times Anakin talks in the prequels lol
don’t forget, this is Anakin after return of the jedi. Meaning he has the knowledge of both Vader and Anakin no way Ahsoka can beat him in a real battle.
Disney needs to rehire the choreographer from the prequels, Hayden 's movements seem more realistic and has more weight to his hits, while the other actors doing lightsaber fights all seem too floaty
True, Ahsoka here seems to just be waving her sabers at him uselessly, he doesn't even need to move and he's fine. Even in Kenobi, Vader and obiwans fight was pathetic, they were just swatting at flies that happened to be hovering around eachother. Nothing on the battle of heroes fight. Even the sequels at least had their lightsabers believably make contact.
Nick Gillard? Yeah Hayden and Ewan are both far better than any of their current co-stars and lightsaber fighting. I don’t think it’s just the experience because they haven’t had to do the choreography in YEARS. Spot-on take.
Real life sword enthusiasts argue that the lightsaber in real life would be too light and no need for powerful strikes. Still, the prequels style of lightsaber combat is definitely realistic and better overall for Star Wars, considering it's basically high powered future seeing wizards fighting each other.
@@mickys8065Obi Wan was rusty and Anakin was using an armor that weightened him down so he couldnt use his full potential, expecting something similar to the Mustafar fight was wrong lmao
@@raghmane There's a difference between being rusty, and swatting at flies. Being weaker than you're used to would mean slowly swings, or a weaker defence. Not plainly missing your target. That's all the mental side, which clearly was not fading for either of them. And, canonically, Darth Vader proceeded to whip the floor with the Grand Inquisitor soon after gaining his armour. In the several years after that point, he'd done pretty much nothing but chase down and defeat Jedi. As for Obi-wan, his biggest feat post the show is killing Maul, using brutal and controlled strikes. Something he did without any warm up and after visibly aging considerably. I'm not expecting another Mustafar, I'm expecting more than toddlers with sticks.
If Vader/Anakin never lost his limbs he'd be a much more powerful Darkside user then he is now and he probably would still retain his normal fighting style but also use the Darth Vader Jedi hunter style too.
With this music this could've been the season ending, with the season all building up to this moment. It would've been the best season finale of all time
The reason I liked this scene was because I remembered not only that he taught Ahsoka, but that he taught Cade skywalker in Legends. He is reborn as a true chosen, and still works for his disciples, his sons, and his descendants. The greatest great-great-great-great-great-grandfather.
I loved this episode so much. It's my favorite so far. It was perfect from beginning to end. The flashback scenes were amazing. From seeing Rex, the Purrgils, and this scene between Hayden and Rosario. It all gave goosebumps. I'm so excited for Part 6
Yeah, that annoys me everytime. Fair enough, Anakin had his lightsaber at the ready the entire time, so he could have defended himself from a swipe anyway, but it's a bit disappointing that Ahsoka needed several seconds of just staring at him to even try. All for the drama, but still.
My only complaint about this fight was the score. Why does disney keep dropping the ball when it comes to music? This edit is proof they need to get better people to start making score decisions.
