There was a kid near the town I went to highschool in that got executed (shot in the face) during a drug deal for a gram of weed. The kid was selling it to a guy and the buyer just pulled a gun on him, pointed it at his face, and blew his face off. All over a gram of weed. Don’t tell me the most dangerous thing about weed is getting caught by the police with it. Weed brings crime and poverty with it.

I couldn't agree more but ya gotta realize the problem partly lays in the officers ability to use discretion the crimes he goes after. There is plenty of other crime out there that is causing serious harm to people and the police should allot extra resources for crimes of such a nature. I don't really care if some kid and his mom have a bunch of weed.i care that my kid can go out and play alone and be safe or go to school and know that he's safe there.weed is harmless.

Learn the law. Can't have more than 1oz on you outside of your home. Inside your home you can have up to 10oz, but any more than 1oz has to be locked up. And you can't drive while under influence.

We have serious drug issues in this country. Heroin, Meth, crack, prescription oxycontin and Percocets that are ruining families. I think they should be prioritizing and focusing on those drugs instead of marijuana. That's all I'm saying. Prohibition doesn't work, all it does is finance ACTUAL criminal operations. If marijuana was funded by the government, at least it could be semi beneficial to us.

Thing is, they were not just smoking but obviously transporting tracfficking amounts for distribution. That's a different charge altogether than just smoking. The mom didn't want to give up which small farming town they came from but it was obviously one of the ones up north notorious for cultivation.

This is the United (States) of America for a reason. Think of it as 50 separate countries which have different laws. There is federal law which every state has to follow and state laws that are different dependent on the state. Obviously you have to respect every states law as if its a different country or place just like anywhere else in the world. It's up to the person as the traveler to know the law and follow them as they go to a different place. If you're traveling from the US to any other country, you obviously aren't going to bring in drugs or illegal things into another country that you know could get you imprisoned or in major trouble, it's common sense. Most people know that some drugs are legal in one place and not another and they're taking the risk by bringing in drugs to a place where its illegal. Either way it's up to each individual state to decide whether or not they want to legalize or decriminalize a substance and it's not as easy as one would think.

So long story short, they were trimmers in the Emerald Triangle, and had their mom driving them home from work into Utah and they brought some souvenirs with them.

All for weed.. yet eventually it will be legalized in most parts of the U.S., while they also claimed a schedule 1 drug mean while medicinal and recreational use of marijuana is begin legalized. Main problem is, is it should of never been illegal in the first place. One thing I learned so far in this life is that..if history has taught us anything, it's that our own brothers and sisters will line up to fight each other in the name of their government.. yet wouldn't question them a day in their lives and I seize to understand why.

Each state has its own laws and requires its own citizens to enact new laws. Plus the police clearly work for the state and their community to withhold the law, i'm sure a lot of police don't want to treat marijuana users the way they do but that's what they are supposed to do. If people in every state wanted to decriminalize it or legalize it then it would end up on the ballots eventually. There are many states that have conflicting views and not enough support or want for change.
