Sarah Swailes it's in most state DMV booklets, however just like jaywalking most cops won't stop you unless they just want to check you out. The police will find a reason for pulling you over even if you have something dangling on your rear view mirror if I suspect something I will pull you over and say the item dangling was obstructing your view.

Never been stopped walking down the street either. Of course my pants are pulled up, my hat isn't on backwards and I'm not covered in stupid tattoos. When it comes to possession, they don't need a confession to easily prosecute you. That's just dumb to say.

A person can't smell meth or heroin in a baggie in your bra. So there would be no reason for a search. The cop even said the only reason he was going to search them was because the chick was nervous and the guy said he could search the car which tipped me off to them having drugs on them.

Emily Acosta your not the only one who thinks that, but it's wrong. With police, trying to do the right thing and being honest can actually get you in more trouble. For example, cop pulls you over and asks if you know your license is suspended "no officer, I didn't know my license was suspended". Would result in you going to jail charged with "driving while suspended unknowingly". Now if you admit that you are aware of your license being suspended and start explaining why you are behind the wheel, you are now charged with a more severe charge of "driving while suspended knowingly" and resulting in more severe sentencing. They don't want you to know these things......

Cops are allowed to lie to a person in order to get them to confess to crimes. They use the scare tactics like you seen in the video of the officer kept telling the lady to admit to drugs and she would be fine or if not she be arrested. I think we both know whether she told the truth or not she was going to be arrested regardless. She now has another charge on her for lying.

I got pulled over a lot for stuff and i would sit up straight. My problem was, when i was speeding they ID'd my friends and they were on probation so now the cop has it on record who is in my car..ugh.. a certain cop would always lie saying i was doing 5 over and i was in stand still traffic. It was always rush hour traffic jams on that road and the same cop always lied saying i was speeding 5 over which means i need to go -3 mph on that road i guess. It got so bad i had only 1 point on my license and i had to start taking an unformillure car (my moms van) any time i went on that road, all a sudden 2nph wasnt 5 over the limit anymore in a traffic jam. That cop was parked in a driveway on that road everyday in the same spot. He always asked about my friends and if they were in there and he was just pulling me over to see my friends. I also had real tickets i deserved and a cop who gave me a warning for 90 in a 45 so i blame that one cop, not all cops. There are cool ones. They dont mean to profile (if they do) but we all do it in one form or another with out realizing it. If they want to go out and make it obviouse that they are druggies then let them. It's not the cops fault they parade it around that they have drugs on them and act a certain way to let others know they are thugs. I dont see it as profiling, I see it as people are dumb and give cops hints there is drugs on them.

i'm only nervous when i have something to hide , if its a speeding ticket i just act like i'm in a rush and they do the paperwork quick time and i'm gone within 2 mins , but in Canada i don't have to worry about getting shot , cops aren't nearly as paranoid as the ones in the states and we actually pay our officers almost double what they are making south of the border so they do a better job because of it

Dan from GA Exactly. Now I fully admit many cops profile racially. I remember Chris Rock saying he always got pulled over because he "was driving while black." I'm a 24 year old white woman so I feel fortunate I don't have to worry about that, but there's always a fear in me a cop would make up some stupid "probable cause" to pat me down and touch me weirdly. It definitely happens. I guess you'd call that crime "driving with DDDs."
