The towing company is not the law and is a private company and is subject to the law also. If that person comes for his car that was illegally towed and they don't release it, then they can be liable to the owner for damages as well for towing it in the first place. There is a private side of the people and a public side which is called public. We all have the right to use the public roads for free for we own them as per Supreme Court Cases. But what we don't have the right to do is use those same roads as a place of business, that would be a tort or a crime, which the state says you may do if you ask permission, which would be in the form of a license and that would then you to follow the regulations meaning, registration and Insurance. This is because you would be using the public roads for profit or gain and this would be the states way recouping some of the cost of repairing the roads from the damage of Commercial vehicles or motor vehicles. Remember a right can not be converted into a privilege. In my State of Washington, Christine Gregoire voted into law in 2005 the definition of a highway as, "any street, Avenue, freeway, road open as a matter of right" A right can not have a fee or tax attached to it, so that means the public roads are free to use to the general public and not commercial use. That must be paid for.

Imagine how many miles you drive each day, every mile, another quarter million dollars, roughly, i realize there is different states, companies etc etc, That's why potholes and cracks are always quick patched, instead of replacing the entire road, or like alot of the roads around here, they don't get fixed at all.

To Bud Tax first of all you don't have a motor in your car or truck you have an engine. A motor runs on electricity for example you have a motor in your generator. It doesn't say in which method you use. So last year I traveled to the State of Vermont for a ski trip I operated my own Jeep to get to said place. So therefore I traveled to the State of Vermont, the way a lot of you are making it out to be is you are traveling unless you are operating the car then you somehow are not traveling even though you are moving from one place to another.

One thing I noticed what these cops are ignorant about, is that they are apply a Commercial code called a statue which only applies to those that engage in commerce. This is required when someone wants to use the public roads for profit or gain. This is the law people, our legislation only has the power to make laws concerning Commerce in the state and on public roads. I has no power to control our private freedoms on public roads. That's a fact. Traveling in your Automobile is completely different than using a "Motor Vehicle" on public roads. Look up the definition of "Motor Vehicle" and "Automobile" in a Law dictionary and you will find they are not one in the same but are completely different. I honestly believe most of you people here do not know how to look up any of these laws or court cases and have no Idea of what you are talking about. I've seen those "Traffic Cops" shows and nobody ever has a license on them and that seems to not be a requirement according to the show. Has that changed or is it only in certain areas?

@@nunyabuisness7552 it's not a requirement to carry a license no, but I know very few people that drive without one on them. The police have the PNC where they can find your details, and if you refuse (assuming they have a lawful reason to request) they can identify you via alternative means.

well to be fair in its core it has some grounds. ofc the sovcits have no idea what they are talking about but a hunch then think thier own things into it. reality is if we go by letter and spirit of the constitution you would need to trow out half the laws for the better or worse. thats why its soaked into countless courtbattles with more or less questionable rulings that get overtrown later, reprahsed, rethought and so on. currently the freedom of travel is a real issue. less about a drivers license but all its implications its about to overtrow current rulings. one example is supreme courts ruling in jannuary 2019 where passengers no longer have to identify themself in a stop the current state of law is really not easy to determine. all the things we considered to be nessesary are often in direct contrast to the consitution. shure partly out of corruption, but mostly the problem is way deeper and even philosophical. the basic idea of those untouchable human rights dont seem to be applicable in a modern society with 300mil citizens and modern technology.

You're not understanding what I'm saying. I never said that you're paying for them twice. You said that the people pay the gas tax, not the government. I acknowledged that you're right, yes, people do pay taxes, but the government uses them. In my original comment I said that the government maintains roads. You pay taxes, and a portion of those taxes goes to the road maintenance. In other words, the government pays for the roads. You pay taxes so the roads are maintained (not all taxes go to roads, obviously, you're paying for more than just roads). I was pointing out that this guy thinks he can just use the benefits of the government without paying for anything and fighting against it. It's ridiculous for him to try to get around our laws.

By you paying your registration to the DMV it’s a contract to be employee under them. Which is why on your drivers license is all in capital letters.
