Your perspective is always life-altering Troy. I always kind of knew that working on technique without the fundamentals in place can set you up for hitting the plateau. Plus the centerpiece of why we do all of this is to ultimately play music and convey emotion through what we do in that regard so to just work on exercises is sterile and ultimately it constitutes potential without form (your words by the way) if we become so far removed from the musical setting where all of this is meant to be in exhibition. And yeah...I wasn't aware how much I was lacking in fundamentals until I got feedback from you on my playing. You have clarified a lot of what I had been thinking about here in this coaching. Also, I still can't get enough of your Jackson Soloist that you've used for much of your career, especially on your own recordings.
