Many comments on Facebook saying this isn’t music. That’s what they said when it first came out. Billions of dollars and international acclaim has cause this MUSIC to be embraced by other cultures and languages. It ain’t goin nowhere.
I had never watched Kendrick Lamar but his Choreography was the best...overall the rest are/were Legends...grew up watching them...this was the best Halftime ever...totally loved it...was really dope.
Kendrick Lamar's set was sending a message. You know the Black Panther Party started in Oakland, CA. I think his set was to appease the public enemy type fans, who didn't care for the west coast rap gangsta rap. I wonder if Kendrick had any say. His dancers were dressed with Dr. Dre slashes across their body and the boxes they were in said Dr. Dre--not Kendrick Lamar. So people like me didn't know his music, so I paid more attention to the older black male dancers who were doing alot of black panther type saluting. It was symbolic
I'm blown away . How people who are not from the states enjoy rap /hip hop. I googled the location that your from and Germany came up. Again it blows mind 🤯🤯 that young kids like u all enjoy my kinda of music
I absolutely love seeing these fine gentlemen of other nationalities enjoy my people, our music, and our rich culture. And Yes, Eminem belongs to us.🙏🏾
Hiphop has had such an impact on most of Europe. When I was a teenager in the late 90s / early 2000s here in Germany most of us were listening to the west coast hiphop. Of course, we weren't able to relate to many themes like the struggle of black people. But even for us it felt empowering, just in a different way. Watching this show I had goosebumps the entire time. It's a disgrace that this music wasn't given the superbowl half time stage way earlier than 2022.
Yep, thats it, keep it "us" and "them" 😒amazing how so many people fought segregation and to have people judged for their character not their skin. Its never gonna stop until people stop thinking like this
I’m 6 minutes in and I just realized there not speaking English 😭 😭 and I was here agreeing with what they are saying when I don’t even know what they are saying lmao 🤣 but the vibes were there
There are those who didn't appreciate the half time performance. Everyone has their choice of music. Rap music is a Multi Billions dollars industry 🌏🌍🌎. In thousands of languages. Feeding families and paying bills. You might be surprised that your own children might even have a few CDs. It's here to stay
I was never much one for rap. I still don't like it and for the most part hate it. But when it comes to the old school '80s rap and early '90s. It was a good time to be a music lover. Because now I think about all of the good times that I had back in my childhood and this music just brings it all back again.
@@seanhall5024 Here's the deal. I am older but if people would put their pre conceived ideas aside and just allow the BEAT AND RTHYMS to carry you, you don't have to even know the words. This performance had enough orchestration behind it that if people would just stop hatin and allow the beat to carry them.....
@A 1 Context: MJ selected his songs in the wake of the LA riots. His goal was to use his music to bring people together in ❤️ and harmony. He could have sung and danced his greatest hits. But blessed are the peacemakers...they ate the real children of God. MJ rules are the king of the show. The greatness and significance of the show after him is his legacy. He made it relevant ND every artist wants the chance to perform.
Michael and Prince might disagree. Phenomenal show from start to finish in around 12 minutes is truly unbelievable. This was well put together and flawless. But I am still going to put Michael at the top because he is the one who made the halftime show a show. Prince carried the torch. All around, greatness lives on.
This was like my childhood all in one moment, so legendary seeing all of them on stage together my eyes got watery. I'm glad 50 Cent was brought on too. LOVED IT ❕
Im from New Jersey & moved to Cali in 98 initially didnt care for west coast music....BUT it didnt take me long to catch that west coast vibe 🤟🏽 it's like no other Coast ‼
I think Tupac felt the same way. It always confused me how he went so hard for the West Coast when he was a New Yorker, but when you move to somewhere with its own dynamic culture, it's hard not to get wrapped up in it.
Everything fell into place with this super bowl halftime show. It was in LA, new Sofi stadium, the rams where in it. The NFL could not have asked for more.
I still remember in high school the Stigma on rap and NWA's "FK the police", which became an anthem in 2020 BLM's summer... great vid guys.... greetings from Cali
I don’t know, they didn’t look that excited on first track…guy in grey hoodie on left was just on his phone. Couldn’t watch the rest. To add was a killer half time show by the legends of hip hop!
Huh? Are we seeing two different people? Because the guy I see on the roof is very clearly Dre. He's wearing the same outfit he wore during the show. The front of his jacket is leather. In the roof scene, you can see the leather at the shoulders from the back. Also, Tupac's silhouette just looks nothing like that lol; his was much more slender (while still being muscular). His back/shoulders weren't that broad. The shape of his head is also very different. It never occurred to me that people would think that was Pac lol.
I think the main reason for that is that English is a world language. And in Germany we are learning English in a very young age. So we not only listen to that music, most of the time we understand also the text 😅 But of course sometimes its difficult if you don't know the word or the artist has an hard accent
Lowriders are old-style cars (like Cadillacs) that are modified to sit low to the ground. They have come to be associated with West Coast hip hop culture.
They should've showed a picture of Pac on the wall that rose behind Dre while he was on the piano. Not necessarily a hologram like the Coachella one, but some form of imagery. Unless you are a fan of Pac and/or were a teen or adult when he was living, you wouldn't know what that tune is referencing. They definitely did that segment a disservice. It would've been so much more meaningful if they had shown an image of Pac.
