The first car rented was the exact model of Jeff’s. Also the two trips to Tallahassee were on the exact weekends Jeff was out of town. Her friend and her both mentioned Jeff as a possible person. She asked him if he was still leaving for his trip AFTER breaking up.

And people wonder why he came across a little salty. This could have ruined his life, Or definitely complicated it tremendously if he had still been in town. Innocent people sit in jail all the time, and even get guilty verdict. He literally and figuratively dodged a bullet. He is way too good for Wendi and the Adelsons.

Given Katie’s testimony and VERY poor decision making skills, my main takeaway is that she is not NEARLY smart or clever enough to be this criminal mastermind that the defense is trying to paint her as. Maybe that was the state’s idea for putting her on the stand and why they didn’t care if she constantly impeached herself

Jeffrey drives a silver Nissan Sentra. First car they rented was a silver Nissan Altima. Both attempts at Rivera and Garcia murdering DM were at times JL was going out of town. I’d say he’s right about them trying to frame him for the murder of DM. You’re forgetting that this Charlie Adelson we are talking about; the same guy who claims someone murdered his brother in law, halfway across the state, and then blackmailed him for over two years and yet even though they were in custody for said murder, CA never came forward to testify against them or even talk to the police regarding said murder? I mean these are people who come up with outlandish $h!+ to justify themselves. Not to mention murder to get their way. Not too far fetched that they were planning on framing JL when you put it all together.

I SO wish the jury could be shown the police interviews because 1) a lot of the questions everyone is debating, the answers are literally right there in the interviews!, and 2) there are some little details being said that are incorrect, which could get fixed if everyone could listen carefully to the interviews. I’ve watched each of them (Wendi, Jeff, June, etc.) several times each and a lot of this back and forth speculating could be resolved with them. But I guess there’s a legal reason I don’t understand why they can’t. Although I have seen them shown in other trials, idk.

@jasonlisowski1 why? I am leaning towards her knowing about it. There are 2 things I can't get passed with her. 1. She drove down to the street Dan lived on. Says the street was taped off and saw all the cop cars. She said she turned around and didn't think anything about it. Her kids were with Dan. Her kids were in his custody at the time. I don't know anyone who would have not asked what was going on or would plow through a football team to make sure their kids were ok, or called the school to check that they were there. 2. In her police interview, she never once asked about her kids and if they were ok. The officer brough it up late in the interview. I think it was because she already knew they were not home at the time of the murder.

I agree. The defense attorney's cross examination of Katie Magbanua was weak. He should have locked in her testimony by deposing her prior to trial. Then he could have effectively cross examined her and come on strong when her answer in court differed from her answer in the deposition. He didn't depose her, and he ended up looking like he was having a childish tantrum in court. Not a good look. He also asked questions in such a way that he was basically planting Charlie Adelson's narrative instead of genuinely questioning her.

She felt like she was contributing to his death by admitting guilt and flipping on the both of them. At least this is what she stated in prior trial(s). Lacasse is Credible witness but most believable in early police interviews. He "chewed the bone" of his interactions with Wendy/murder attempt/timelines and got to a place where he felt nearly set up. He believes his logic about possible set up, but it presents as fear based not factual. Better had the tapes of interviews been played for jury, all this verbal rehashing of who said what to who on what date is TEDIOUS easily done with tapes of interviews.

Peter, Peter, Peter (lol)... I absolutely find it credible that he would be a little scared for his life... Not because he thinks these people go around putting hits out on people willy nilly, but because he has information that could add "puzzle pieces" to this specific crime that could help get them convicted. Probably because nearly 100% of the evidence has already been seen via the trials that have already put 3 people in prison. If you’re going to formulate an opinion, you basically have all the information you’ll be getting, on which to base that opinion.

The ferried case is the boy in the box. The dad turned down a plea deal which would have given him basically no time considering there was video evidence of the child abuse. And now he could be in prison for decades.

No matter how you cut it, Charlie is guilty because he knew he was extorted (his defense is weak). We know he really wasn’t extorted.

The only thing left in the Ferriter case is sentencing, right? 2 parents locked their adopted, teen son in an 8x8 box in the garage. Dad was found guilty of 3 child abuse charges. Mom's trial might begin in January?

Peter - I thought the boyfriend was too much into Wendi??? why I don’t know and needed to focus on what she was saying. Shocking he didn’t go to the cops but it would be heresay. Charlie’s friend was very believable but disgusting what he wrote online. Garcia was also very believable. Katie - I never understood why she didn’t take the deal in her first trial. I am surprised that somebody would find her innocent. She’s so incredibly guilty and at times I think she still was lying. I was also thinking about the family. Dan’s Mom, Dad and sister are there. Thanks Peter. I am happy you are following this trial.

I thought Lacasse was very credible, and do think Wendi was trying to frame him, it might not have been a well put together plan but I do think that was at least an angle she was exploring.

Now that we know the outcome of this case, except for what happens to Wendi, from the start of listening to this case I have believed this guy and I have been completely blown away that Wendi probably scared the crap out of him confiding in him at the very end of their relationship. I’m very suspicious at this point and have wondered what Wendi’s motives were by revealing such a horrific story and sharing it with him! She’s messed up and that kind of information would have created such fear and make him wonder IF he is safe. I have tons of compassion for him, just watching him squirm in his seat it’s so easy to see that he is Still traumatized by that whole experience.

Maybe I'm a minority but I did like her this time. I think she didn't take immunity because she wanted to be aquitted and keep sugar daddy aka the dentist forever but now that she was convicted, it's not fair Charlie is at large so why not tell the truth. I don't really know her upbringing but I think she has survived through lying on a whim her whole life. I found her demeanor in this trial totally different from the previous trials. I believe her 90% this time. P.S. this defense lawyer is so unlikable though.

I, too, liked Katie on the stand this time. I think she scored some points for the prosecution. The defense attorney made a big deal about Katie lying in the past, and I don't think this was a very effective strategy. Are any of us shocked that a person arrested for committing murder would lie in an attempt to get out of trouble? Uh, no. If anything, I think Katie should have leaned harder into the whole "I am a Liar" theme. I don't know her motive for finally telling some of the truth, but I would have respected a solid, "I am finally telling what really happened because Charlie set this murder up. No way is he going to go free when I am serving a life sentence for doing the exact same thing!". That would have had the ring of truth.. Yes, the defense attorney would have skewered Katie for saying that, but I think the jurors would have found it to be a very credible answer. It definitely would have been a Perry Mason moment in the court room.

When it comes to jeffrey Lacasse, I think some things don’t make sense such as, Charlie looking into hiring a hit man and saying it would cost 15 or 50k dollars and neither of those are the alleged amounts the state says was paid out. Plus why would Wendi tell him that when she was breaking up with him the same week
@mercurialjove460
@mercurialjove460 11 месяцев назад
Well, if you were being conspiratorial and buying into the 'setting him up to be the fall guy' she could have been setting up the breakup and the 'private conversation' to create a motive? It's a bit of a reach, but just about as much as thinking this guy was capable of shooting without hurting himself from recoil.

@@mercurialjove460 if it is true, I think maybe Wendi is behind the scenes overly emotional and really flightly and it is surprising they haven’t gotten enough evidence to indict her yet. I’ve been following this case since the start, already watched the first 3 trials. Wendy’s demeanor in this one is a lot different than the two previous times she testified for sure
@Burningheartcelosia
@Burningheartcelosia 11 месяцев назад
Who care that the amounts aren’t the same as what was paid? That’s assuming the price didn’t go up for any number of reasons. The point is she said it and none of us have people saying that to us and also having a murder 8 months later. The amount is just a part of him showing the details of the convo. They don’t talk about the amount Jeff remembers bc it isn’t important
