I'm in a raised ranch with the same kind of strapping on the basement walls, but no insulation that I've seen. After it flooded last year, we made it pretty cozy just by doing some air sealing, painting, and putting some good LVP down. But not having water egress issues is a true blessing. The sensation of ripping up wet carpet and soaked padding is something I never want to reliver again in my life.
Man, the amount of time you have to take to explain everything to the kids is an overtime job in itself. FYI there are vent-less dryers now that are more energy efficient with the added benefit of not blowing conditioned air outside. You can even get them in combo that wash and dry.
Another super beneficial Live Stream! Thank you for the info about the stairs. I need that info for my backyard deck. Enjoyed the video! I thank you and the crew!
Cheers, but in truth I end up learning more than they do. If the eyes are the window to the soul then working with your kids is the front door. Cheers!

Sorry didn't see it live. But at about 2:30, I saw a comment about finding old things behind the walls. I recently opened up a wall and found an empty can of Schaefer beer! Built in 1981, so its probably from original construction.
About ten years ago I read that electric tape is excellent for such injuries. I don’t know if it is true or not. If nothing else it keep the wound sealed.
Although I love watching renovations, it is painful to see all the waste. Almost everything can be reused somehow by someone, but not when so little care is taken in removing materials.
I want to know if I can pour Flex Seal over a concrete floor in a basement filling the expansion grooves/cracks? I have Superior Walls on 3 sides. Sides and back built into land with slope to front of house. Front wall of basement structure at ground level. There are finished wood stairs enclosed with dry wall in the middle of basement that has door at top. On one side of basement there is single garage. Other has a door to outside. A full bath with shower stall is enclosed with tile flooring & wood walls. Rest of basement open area. Unfinished! There are washer and dryer installed. There is gas area heater installed on one wall to heat area. I really want to do as much work as I can to complete the basement before hiring someone to finish it off since my husband and I are at retirement age. Any info appreciated! Mountain home is in NC. I feel I can put the work in to completing floor. Building the frame work on backside of stairs and in front to close off main area from garage sealing off it off with door entrance to bottom of stair area. First up is sealing floor! I’m confident.😅😮😢HELP!!!
These are probably great, but this is too much info for my amateur brain to absorb. I need things in a more digestible format since i know so little :(
