Actually the horse was in pain and exhausted because he did not properly put the ropes/saddle on and the hooves against the pavement so it didn't have the energy to freak out. And if you look carefully he was bouncing pretty hard on the horse which from what I read had also severely injured the back. But unfortunately I saw what is believed to be his social media accounts and somehow he managed to get new horses.
@@PoizonGirl. Yes most animals including humans (we are animals too) are nervous in many situations in which we are uncomfortable in. Also please don't use the lol when talking about a serious situation as this one it's not even slightly funny.
@@wanderlustandsparkle4395 So, therefore, in this case, would not the horse react to quell the pain and discomfort by shunning and shunting the rider to sit on the street? I believe that a tired mare would have more power than a mere human.
This is incredibly dangerous!! There was a horse that got out of a pasture where I lived and the person hit the horse and died! Horses weigh up to 1200-2,000 lbs or more depending on the breed. And the fact that he is running the horse like that with traffic is absolutely abusive to the horse. I am all for seeing horses on side roads and am happy to move over, i owned a horse for 5 years and have ridden on and off again since I was 12 but a freeway is no place for a horse
The horse was named Nu Nu, like the cat saved in the tsunami. He damaged her joints out of lack of knowledge for the horse. The horse has gone to a sanctuary and is living a great life in retirement and being well spoilt. Her new name is AMAZING GRACE.
this is sad, this guy had an exceptionally well trained horse and he chose to run the horse into the ground. Thankfully the beautiful horse is recovering nicely.
The horse is named NuNu and this idiot galloped her for approximately 7 miles on concrete despite her not having any shoes. She suffered injuries to her hooves and was in so much pain after this incident that she couldn't bare standing for long periods of time and kept laying down. The man was charged with animal cruelty as he should've been.
Believe me it would have been much worse had she had metal or iron shoes on. Metal shoes only amplifies the concussion and reverberates up the poor horse's leg. An unshod horse or one with a rubber boot or shoe would have done much better than with iron shoes. That being said, this guy does not have the welfare of his horse in mind. He could have gotten his horse rubber boots to prepare for this antic
She was such a good horse that she didn't freak out at all the noise around her and followed the commands of her rider even if she was in an incredible amount of pain from running on the pavement for that long. You can see the way she hesitates at the end when he's trying to urge her on again. But she listens and obeys despite the pain. People like him don't deserve good horses like that.
People like that don't even deserve the cockroach from under a prisoners bed if you ask me. He never should have a horse ever again or any other animals... period!
20:17 this is how much this man cares for his horse, standing on its back with his boots digging into the saddle.. after running down the highway on pavement for 30 minutes straight.. horses arent supposed to run on pavement for long periods of time, especially shod in my opinion..
When she first arrived at the horse farm after this, she required 24-hour care for weeks; she was so close to death and was really in sad shape. She was cold and clammy, and couldn’t even stand. There was so much damage it's said she will likely never be able to ride again.
As a vet tech I can tell you by his horse’s walking demeanor that he injured one of it back legs. Horses aren’t made for running on pavement at high speeds over a prolonged distance. This was such a careless stunt.
The horse was badly injured after this, it says so in the news report. Stupid and irresponsible. If you want to make a statement, please don’t put others at risk.
Good news to those who are worried for Nunu's (the horse) health. So running on the pavement for so long did unfortunately cause a lot of damage to her, horses cannot run on pavement for long periods of time without getting injured. They weren't sure if she'd make it, but she is recovering well now and is being held at a recovery ranch so she can be loved and run around in the soft grass instead of hot pavement
That's great to hear. But I want to know after the news chopper cut off the video - what was the process of getting NuNu back to safety? Who was that female individual in the very end who was petting her?
He's probably already back out now too. If I had my way I'd have had him hung like a cowboy for that sorry display. But I guess it's a good time in America if you wanna be an outlaw.
I get he loves his horses but this was irresponsible and she went lame after this. She hadn't been saddled properly and riding a horse for this long on pavement is VERY bad for their joints and hooves. He should know that being a horseman. Had he been riding on grass I'd understand. I'm so sorry for Nunu.
I was thinking the exact same thing. It was very irresponsible, and the joints in the poor horses legs must’ve tensed up from cantering on the concrete, I unfortunately had an experience with a horse I had that had gone lame, and I rode him only on sand and grass, I can’t imagine how much the concrete hurt the poor horse
i was looking for a serious comment from an actual expert on horses. thank you for pointing out where he went wrong. this type of pursuit shouldve never occurred. so irresponsible
Wow I remember this year I remember seeing this guy fly past me on a residential street on a different day before all this. Anything and everything goes down in Chicago. And I’m glad I wasn’t in that traffic that day.
Thank you so much for that comment. I was thinking the exact thing. If that man wants to put his life in danger, then go right ahead buddy. But please don’t ever do that again to that poor horse. Leave him or her out of your ridiculous shenanigans.
When your dad told you he was going to buy you a mustang when you turn 21 only it's not the kind of mustang you were expecting and you're like, "You know what dad? I'm not letting you ruin this for me. I'm taking it for a spin on the highway"
So for anyone confused you never ever go above a walk with a horse on pavement because their feet can't rotate like they would when they sink into dirt or sand ect and it absolutely destroys their legs especially with the added weight of the rider
Updated story on NuNu (the horse): After this incident she was taken to a horse sanctuary. She was in critical condition- cold, clammy, and couldn’t stand. She needed 24 hour care for weeks. Now she is doing much better! She can stand now and is moving around well. She may never be ridden again, but she’s happy to just walk next to people.
Something must have happened to the horse when getting transferred to the sanctuary. Probably got beat up by the cops for not obeying because it looks fine before the camera cut off.
I am not 100% sure but I think that they make horseshoes for riding on concrete or asphalt. Probably still not healthy for the horse but I sure hope he has them on. If the horse got to the point it couldn't take it anymore it is way more of a body mass than the human riding and definitely has the ability to throw him off. You can push a horse to a limit and then they dont play no more. These animals are amazing and very unpredictable sometimes. That's why I love them so much lol. @Eliana Bishara
I know. Sickeningly abusive. Stress fractures from running on pavement... Yanking on its mouth, it just goes on. He should never be allowed to own a horse again. In the UK he wouldn't.
@@vikzn1607 Not if you're a good rider. You are very aware of the pain you 'could' cause your horse if you are hard handed or careless. If you break a horse from young, yes you can train them bit free. If you buy an older horse you need to stick to what it's used to or it might not be safe to ride anywhere except in a school, although I used progressively gentler and gentler bits as his mouth softened and his manners improved.
Honestly, the guy is putting a lot of stress on this horse's bones and tendons. He can also road founder him if he's not careful. I hope the horse got good care after. He deserves it.
@Kishrown Israel You can properly ride a horse for hours. I do it all the time. We walk, trot and Cantor for miles. It's not the time spent on a horse that matters. It how you treat that horse during that time that is most important.
@@garynelson9538 Founder is when the coffin bone starts to rotate downwards out of the normal position within the hoof. Damaging the hooves by cantoring on pavement or other hard surfaces can cause road founder. It's a very serious condition for any horse and most horse owners never want to have it occur to their horse. The outcome can be life threatening and at the least a horse that can no longer perform as before.
@Anonymous Hero Where did you learn to ride? Expert are you? I've ridden all my life in competition and never EVER rode like that. You're not supposed to be stiff no but most of the time he was flopping around like a dying fish. Not one concern for the fact that his horse was clearly limping and had gone lame. ffs
@Allen Victor you definitely dont bounce your butt out of the saddle. you either move with it and your butt stays in or you stand up a bit and keep your butt out. his butt was slamming pretty hard into the saddle with each stride, after a very short amount of time that causes a lot of pain in the horses back. when the horse finally was allowed to stop you can see his tail is lifted, thats normally a sign of pain in their back.
I am going to assume you don’t have horses cause if you were an equestrian you would know it does hurt them some horses have to get put down after getting rode on concrete it can make them lame for the rest of there life and the can hurt there joints and have to be put down if they are to lame
This is what true freedom looks like : Riding on your horse enjoying the beautiful day with your forelegs friend and don't let anybody ruin it.... Just wonderful
He was protesting "Kids lives matter." You think that all the rioting and shutting down of interstates needed for ambulances to get to the Minneapolis hospital were any better? The only difference is in numbers, many involved weren't arrested. Innocent bystanders were shot (not by police) in the Minneapolis riots. The rioters also didn't care about the pet animals that were living in the subsidized housing that got burnt to the ground. None of this is any good. Hopefully people realize that now. No matter what, violence isn't an answer to anything. It just makes people look like asses. That goes for any situation.
@@shannonsarazin7073 this wasn’t in Minneapolis and they didn’t riot and he did it protesting gun violence in Chicago. And what the hell are you talking about you don’t make any sense what does that have to do with the price of tea in China?
The horse almost died from Exhaustion and was bleeding in the hooves . He got charged with animal cruelty . Horse is slowly still recovering . It may never be able to run again. This guy said he would do it again . Stricter animal cruelty laws needs to be enforced to prevent psychopaths like this guy
@@jiggnorth3593 the issue? in addition to being ridden by someone that doesn't know how to ride, that is impacting hard the horse's spine with every stride the horse takes, that is also hard on the bit, there is impact to the knees running on pavement, breathing car exhaust/fumes, danger/risk/fear of the horse being hit by a car; the horse is in big fear here (look at the lifted tail which signals alarm, and the ears); the horse is really stressed, and for good reason. Those with understanding of horses would call that abuse.
@@cacatr4495 wdym “he doesn't know how to ride”, he seems far more competent than most. Sure what he did was illegal and maybe the pavement part, but other than that, he was riding fine
I thought so! I'm cringing extremely lightly on that fact cuz the horse's hooves smacking the asphalt every step. "I'm thinking to myself wouldn't you want to at least stay on the grass side?" Lol
The dread head cowboy is going to court for horse abuse. His horse was ran for 7 miles and it’s still up for debate if the horse is going to be euthanized because the horse suffered severe damage to the hooves.
@Jason Bordeau ,, all those dirt roads in new york and for sure Centeral Park, horses are where people want them , every body want every body to think like them , worry about people killing each other .
This is extreme fully painful for horse. It’s going to drop dead if he don’t stop. Horses can’t run on concrete or pavement long like that. Poor horse. Destroying its hoofs. Cruel.

@@pedroespinal3593 I bet it was, this is extremely cruel. As a horseback rider when I do go for trail rides and go on roads I stay off the road and don’t t go anything over a walk or rarely a trot, anything else could seriously mess up a horse.
@Jamie Winblad All that because of the most stupid man on earth I really hope the horse stays well at the end, bc its so hella frustrating and unfair to think that horse's life can be taken off because of that as*hole seriously
@Jamie Winblad ikr I understand a horse can be easily spooked by the vehicles around him (which why I was so nervous when a few just passed by so close to him including the moto) the police wanted to be cautious, but, I saw so many chances to stop him When the third police car went in and the horse was just walking in the right side and the other 2 police cars were just behind him; the 3rd police car could just avance slowly in front of the horse with a safe distance ofc So that way, the horse couldnt escape running with 2 cars behind him and 1 in front Due the normal cars passing in the left side, that as*hole couldnt really escape that fast I was just waiting for that moment but nothing It was really delicate but in my opinion, I think the police could do better They probably weren't sure about how to react around the horse, in afraid of how he could react, but they just could do better. I was more concerned about what could that man do, the horse just looked calm altought all the pain. That as*hole was the crazier one These long minutes were the most painful ones to watch The frustration, the pain we know the horse was feeling, the huge will of just want to go there and grab that as*hole and put him down far away from the poor horse Me personally, wanting more than anything to have a paint horse like that one, and than, there's those kind of people wasting their lifes srsly this man just made me so pissed Ok if he wants to protest BUT PLEASE WITHOUT THE HORSE
@@rousericky6801 I have no idea why anyone who has half a brain would take their horse and run them on a hard surface for that long, not to mention stressing them with a group of motorcycles alongside. This horse has no idea of what's happening but is a good enough animal that they obeyed their rider despite their fears. My husband and I owned horses for years, how many have you owned? Running a horse on a hard surface has the potential of permanently making them lame, then they have to be put down. The motorcycles did not help that horse at all and the owner deserves to be punished for animal cruelty. If you check the horses feet were bleeding by the time they got him stopped, it was in bad shape according to news stories. Know what you are talking about before you call someone a name.

Theres a new video of him getting stopped. It's not illegal he told the cops the law it's legal to ride the horse as long as it's on the side and not in the middle of the road. It's completely legal.
