almost there bro 39 eheh but this still move me as did as teenage years! I went into the pit! But this helped me in the come back trip! LET`S GO! Take no BS from anyone and do our best!
Yes I loved Throwing Copper, I had the CD in my mid twenties. I remember working Two jobs trying to make ends meet at that time. This was not long before my mom died of cancer in the Summer of 1995.
my station played this song today. Alt 92.3 aka K-Rock back in the day. the station plays music from that era. once in while they will play something new. it's gotten so bad. no wonder.
What strikes me most about this incredible record is how young they were at the time and how mature their music and lyrics were. The early 90s were just an amazing time for music.
It was the times that also breeded this type of more real music, it went to shit past 2005 onwards completely. Music is now cheap, and a quick fix for kids who are existing through their screens prisoners of their mind and slaves to what media tells them. Even the ones who rebel now are cheesy and shallow
Right now I am on a 90ies trip and I love them all...Live, James, Toad the wet sprocket...had cds of them all and I loved listening to them in these days.
This song helped me through a time I was a manically depressed South African teenager. I have long left SA, I have long kicked my depression, but this remains a life anthem- Thanks Live!
Every single frame of this video is screaming "Yes, I'm from the 90's": the colours, the lights, the movements of the camera, and of course the look of the musicians. I f***ing love it, this video is like a time machine. The song is, obviously, amazing, one of the best song of those years.
Man my dad use to listen to this album on repeat. Never really thought anything about it. Heard it today, nostalgia hit me me like a truck. Damn his taste in music is awesome.
All over the radio back in 1994, reminds me of my high school years, still amazing in 2019. Ed Kowalczyk is one underrated vocalist from that epic time for music.
@@jegglemmerdet - Yep, when ALL music sucks (ie: now), and it's all manufactured by corporations, and it's nearly ALL written by the same 3-4 people in Northern Europe (Max Martin - look him up), then there's no competition. Modern music gives me a headache.
I've been looking for this song for years. I listened to it in my adolescence, in the mid-90s, and in my memory it only vibrated as a simple melody without lyrics. I could only hum it. Today I finally found it, after an arduous search on the Internet, among the infinite hits that were played at that time. Day of light. I love this song!
I tell my little son that I will give the music I like to him. This is one of them. I hope all the 80's music that I have liked is still here on RU-vid for a long time when he browses for my profile and play my music list. My boy I love you I love you i love you.
So awesome. Grew up near these guys and went to college in Lock Haven. Moved to West Coast in 1979. These guys combined REM and Grunge in a very unique way. Love these guys. Thank you!
Sing like no one's watching! And to love a god And to fear a flame And to burn a crowd that has a name And to right or wrong And to weak or strong It is known, just scream it from the wall I've willed, I've walked, I've read I've talked, I know, I know I've been here before Hey, now we won't be raped Hey, now we won't be scarred like that Hey, now we won't be raped Hey, now we won't be scarred like that It's the sun that burns It's the wheel that turns It's the way we sing that makes 'em dream And to Christ a cross And to me a chair I will sit and earn the ransom from up here I've willed, I've walked, I've read I've talked, I know, I know I've been here before Hey, now we won't be raped Hey, now we won't be scarred like that Hey, now we won't be raped Hey, now we won't be scarred like that Scarred like that And to love a god And to fear a flame And to burn a love that has a name I've willed, I've walked, I've read I've talked, I know, I know I've been here before Hey, now we won't be raped Hey, now we won't be scarred like that Hey, now we won't be raped Hey, now we won't be scarred like that Hey, now we won't be scarred like that Hey, now we won't be scarred like that
Fell in love with this band back when I first heard Lakini's Juice... It blew me away!!! After that, i found I Alone, Lightning Crashes and lots more. I finally bought "The Distance to Here" and still play it! Great upload!
What a band ! Miss them so much. They need to make a new record soon. The writing and that mix of great riffs plus kind of a ballad is just great. We tried to do a mix of rock and ballad with one of our latest song, would love your views on it. Return from people liking the same music is always great. stay safe in the meantime ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-RCZScxA1Hk4.html
This was my first favorite alternative rock song. I first heard it in 1993 on a Stillwater, OK, radio station while driving on the Turner turnpike. Fell in love immediately!!
Isn't it crazy how time flies...? I recall when they released their breakthrough debut album 'Mental Jewelry' in 1991, and it wasn't a bad album at all, but their second album (under the name 'LIVE') was truly a masterpiece. 'Throwing Copper' was played almost everywhere on the radio constantly in 1994, and why not? It had 5 - YES 5 - GREAT SINGLES. The band had indeed arrived. Throughout the 90's they continued to release solid Rock albums, and deserve the respect they earned. I have to say though that out of all their great songs, that this one is my most favorite. Simply beautiful.
Timeless…in the fact I happened across this song today 3/22/23 and had never heard it before in my life that I remember. But I sure the hell have lived it. Today, I have little fear and lots of love…thanks to the drama!
I was 16 when this came out and EVERYONE loved this album, such amazing memories, it became a soundtrack to my Yr 11/12 years. And we all loved and grew up with Metallica, Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, Pearl Jam etc and this was right up there with the best. Legends 👍🏼🙏😀
Live, the voice of York PA. Lyrics: And to love a god And to fear a flame And to burn a crowd that has a name And to right or wrong And to meek or strong It is known just scream it from the wall I've willed, I've walked, I've read I've talked, I know, I know, I've been here before, yeah Now we won't be raped, hey Now we won't be scarred like that, hey Now we won't be raped , hey Now we won't be scarred like that, hey It's the sun that burns It's the wheel that turns It's the way we sing that makes 'em dream And to Christ, a cross And to me a chair I will sit and earn the ransom from up here I've willed, I've walked, I've read I've talked, I know, I know, I've been here before, yeah Now we won't be raped, hey Now we won't be scarred like that, hey Now we won't be raped , hey Now we won't be scarred like that Scarred like that And to love, a god And to fear, a flame And to burn, a love that has a name I've willed, I've walked, I've read I've talked, I know, I know I've been here before, yeah Now we won't be raped, hey Now we won't be scarred like that, hey Now we won't be raped , hey Now we won't be scarred like that Hey hey na nana (Hoo hoo) we won't be scarred like that (Hoo hoo) we won't be scarred like that (Hoo hoo)
Absolutely.im not an overly emotional person, but something about their delivery, the lyrics and the authentic of this band amazes me.evn after all these years.such a talented group.i never tire of their music
25 years later and this record remains at the top of my favorites. Essa banda e demais muito louca esse som e fenomenal grande recordação do ano de 1994
Roseland NYC 93' they had weezer opening for them and i think joydivision, I was 13 and i cant remember a thing but i crowdsurfed for the first time ever and the audience was very kind
Ouça a rádio cidade!!!

Thank you for the great music. During this pandemic , it’s important to list to great music soothes the soul. I’m a hospice nurse and asked families what their loved ones music was and I told them to play it for them as the hearing is the last sense to go. Thank you for the great music.
I always liked Live but it wasn't until this past year that I really got INTO Live. Lyrics have been hitting me deeper than ever and the music echos life to a "t".
