I like champions path and vivid voltage because they remind me of when the whole world was going crazy for Pokémon cards. Driving around to game stop hunting booster packs with my mom. Fun memories

I really enjoy these long form discussions to hear you air your opinion on stuff. Definitely want to see these in the future. Maybe doing a tier list on product typing could be a good idea Like a upc vs an etb, why is one better because of cost/availability/price trajectory after printing stopped. Those are just examples.

CGC actually isn't getting rid of 9.5's. They're adjusting their scale to be more uniform with the industry as a result of the current merger they're going through. Current Gem Mint 9.5's will meet the criteria of their new gem mint 10, and any new 9.5's going forward will be mint+ condition. They just handled their press release poorly, and didn't announce the changes to their grading scale past the gem mint grade.

I disagree with Jake on Celebrations. As a new-ish collector, all the celebrations cards felt new to me even though they were reprints.

Crown Zenith is S+ tier. This set is going to be heavy nostalgia 20 years from now for all the kiddies of today.

So I just came back to collecting and wondering if I should invest in Brilliant Stars. I heard Brilliant Stars got a re-print and I’m just wondering if it’s still a good idea to invest in it?

i think Shining Fates is so underrated. personally a B tier set it’s so so so fun and open and you’re guaranteed to get tons of hits. idk how ppl have forgotten how unfun battle styles is to open. horrible horrible pull rates and for the longest time you couldn’t pay people to buy it. final thing evolving skies is definitely S for me because of how fun wave 1 was. wave 2 and 3 sucks but wave 1 was amazingly fun

it will get even cheaper once cgc dilute the market from 9.5 to 10 etc

Solid video. The biggest issue I have is Crown Zenith being S tier. If it is S tier, so is evolving sky. Crown Zenith does not have the best art works in the sword and shield era. 10 years from now, CZ will be borderline A/B due to the lack of stud pulls. ES is not as fun to open, but the stud pulls are there.

ES only has Eeveelutions to its name. Crown Zenith is obviously the best modern set ever made as art goes. My pick goes to Fusion Strike as the secrets were top tier.

Jake (regarding sealed product): Japanese is so light and English is so bulky and heavy. Me: Stares at Precious Collector Box and outer box it came in. Totally get where Jake is coming from though. Most of my stuff is sealed Japanese.

You put crown zenith above Evolving skies, yet admit you’ve opened hundreds of packs and pulled nothing. This makes no sense to me. Evolving skies will always be the S tier sword and shield set. I do r believe it’s even debatable
