The thing about configuring your stream is that your upload speed is the major limiting factor. You need to keep your total bitrate within it, with some wiggle room for other programs/apps to use. The larger the screen resolution and the higher the FPS you are streaming, the more upload bandwidth you need and thus the higher the bitrate must be. - Figuring this out can take some time. And this is why some platforms try to figure this out for you; it saves you some work.

How come none of these discuss the audio, the one thing I'm struggling with. My streamlabs program won't pick up on the audio from my switch no matter what I do :(
aight so i am currently preparing to start streaming the switch on my twitch. (am ordering the extensive capture card), but when i go into my streamlabs, do i need to do a new ''window capture''? or how would i connect it to the streamlabs, cause that wasn't explained :(
It doesn't have a capture card, they'd have to add it in, and at that point. The price would be comparable to the PS5 Xbox x etc and they just couldn't compete with them like that imo
A great tutorial, but for streaming on actual streaming platforms instead of discord (I wanted to know how to stream it on discord). I will definitely keep this video saved for in the future if I want to take a crack at streaming on twitch or other streaming sites. I was able to take away a few things from this video that wasn't mentioned in the other videos I watched to set up streaming for discord so I would like to thank you so much for sharing how to stream your nintendo switch, this is a great tutorial!

I was able to get everything working, except with my capture card the audio only works one way. Its either the stream gets to hear the audio or i do, and i cant get it to go through both?
Hey, did you ever figure it out? I have somewhat a similar problem. I cannot hear the audio coming from my switch but it records it if I were to stream or record a video in OBS. Like I legit couldn’t hear anything but it showed that audio was being picked up and I tried recording to see if it picked the sound and it did, I just couldn’t hear it on my end.. now idk what to do 😭
What kind of gaming tower would you recommend for streaming Nintendo? Something that would best for the buck! It’s the last component I need to get started and I’m lost 😭
So basically I need to spend at least another $500 for a half decent PC. Noted. Too bad you can’t go from Switch-HDMI splitter-capture device-phone. Because I already have all that plus open accounts to stream to YT and Twitch. Or the Twitch app could allow video input through lightning port. But I guess that just makes to much sense.
I’m having some issues with finding where my Nintendo Switch live feed is on OBS. The switch is plugged into power and the HDMI cable is plugged into the input on my capture card. I’ve connected the capture card to my MacBook view the USB port. I have also connected my external screen for my to view the Nintendo Switch live feed via the output HDMI port on the capture card. I go into OBS and there is no option to view my Nintendo Switch live feed, what am I doing wrong? 🥺

Did you ever figure this out!!?? I realized this late as well. I was able to get it all connected and everything with the capture card then I realized I only have one monitor and didn’t know how I was going to see my entire gameplay screen 😭 I only have a Mac but idk if that would work as a monitor

im recording onto my elgato and can record my voice but dont know how to hear my gameplay as to where it wont echo into my mic, cut off gameplay sound going into my elgato or in general hear an echo in my headphones while recording my voice and gameplay need help on this last part anyone thank you
I just wanna use my laptop as my monitor to play Nintendo Switch using OBS and 4k UltraHD USB3.0 Video Capture. No for Streaming or Recording, just using as a monitor. But how to deal with the sound delay? I already try to change the Sync Off and tried many setting 'ms' and still delay. It's my first time and i dunno what to do :(
🤔 no affiliate links. Ok so caption card. I'm guessing not all computers come with that. Streamed on a pc with obs but probably means for a switch to be added we need that more than just adding a simple hdmi. Saved it to watch later to come back to this. Might give this a try.

This was the most helpful video I have found, although I am not sure if I can stream from Nintendo Switch through my laptop to Twitch. There is a HDMI port on the side of my laptop, some people have said to get a capture card that costs roughly $200 and I'm trying to avoid doing that.
I was hoping to use my new laptop for this also. I was told when I bought it that it is great for gaming etc, it’s a hp pavilion, but I’m feeling a tad overwhelmed with the idea of trying this 😩
Ive been watching videos on how to do this, but how do I watch my game on one screen while recording? I see it in OBS but I want to play it on the connecting TV So that I can A) see the whole game and B) see what im doing in real time. Ive got the displays setup, they both are detected, i can move OBS to my screen but I cannot see the game by itself.
