We need a LEFT (1.5mm) Bi-level foot for binding. (The Right Bi-Level does not work easily because of all the fabric from the quilt being in the throat area of the machine. Juki and Brother/Babylock all have Left Bi-Level (Compensating) feet. You sew the binding to the back of the quilt and bring it to the front to sew it on the front of the quilt with the Left 1.5mm Bi-Level (Compensating) Foot. Then all your extra quilt fabric is off to the left - out of the throat area. It is SO slick! I'm can't wait for Janome to make a LEFT Bi-Level Foot!
I agree. My friend has one with the PFAFF or Baby Lock ( I can’t remember what she has) and she uses her bi-level foot to stitch her binding. She loves it.
My ASR does not regulate the stitches. It skips and breaks thread. It beeps the whole time. What am I doing wrong? I am on a MC 17. Thanks so much. Happy New Year
We actually need a 1.5mm LEFT Bi-Level Foot for attaching binding. Juki, Brother and Babylock all have them and they are WONDERFUL! I'm hoping Janome will make one too. This Bi-Level Foot in this video is a Right Bi-Level Foot and would be very awkward to use for binding because all the quilt fabric would be in the throat of the machine.
I just saw your video on the piping foot. Apparently I have the same as you (202088004 F5), but I find that my piping does not fit well underneath. The groove does not seem very deep and it is more difficult than my old little Brother machine which did it perfectly without me maintaining. Is this normal?
Cathy there are two sizes of piping feet - maybe the larger one would work best for your project. The narrow one is one of our 2022 new feet, but we do also offer a larger one. Please see your local Janome dealer to see if they have one to examine and purchase. Happy Sewing!
