My dad grew up in an 18 room house and they had servants and electric cars. My dad had an electric train that ran throughout the whole downstairs of that house. After he grew up, his mama got rid of that train, and my dad NEVER forgot that. He missed that train sooooo much!!! So, always hearing that story while growing up, as my kids outgrew their toys, I saved them. My kids, their friends, and many relatives played with those toys. Since then 7 grandchildren have played with them, and now I have 3 great grandchildren who are currently playing with them!!! And I’m POSITIVE they will outlast the great grandchildren. Things were still being made to last back in the early 70’s!!! I remember the day one of my sons sat down on the floor with his sons and was telling them all about those toys!!!
Jason, Brooke, MaryCarl, mom: May each of you and all the animals and farm be safe. Even if you do not get a direct impact, you will still done effects of the storm.. Praying for all whom may be in the hurricanes path of impact.
My mom made ceramic Christmas trees. My mom made me a green one and a Pearl colored Christmas tree. She made them back in the 1980’s. She carved her initials on the bottom before putting the tree in the kiln. I still have them now.
😂 tell MC, TO NOT BE ASHAMED, OF WHAT FEEDS HER....Both of you, are hands down, the BEST of all the Farm Families ❤🎉...the love & care you share, are so appreciated by many of us, out here!!! Chibo & my household...Gracie Mae, & asst. porch critters, dropped off here❤❤❤❤😊🥀
I love y'all so much! You bring back so many memories for me. I've got tears in my eyes. Jason Im 62 and I saved albums Bob Segar,ACDC,The Eagles I'll never get rid of. Brooke I have one cabbage patch doll that was gifted to my son. He had open heart surgery as a infant. So hard for me he was my only child and was born with 2 holes in his heart and a kinked artery. My friend gave us a cabbage patch doll and I put that in his hospital bed beside him. He was too little to know but I still remember his doll.❤️
Back in the 70s I used to buy an album per week and I still have most of them. I even kept the broken one. I have my mom's old 45s from the 50s and 60s.
Back in the early 80’s LaCoste was big and had an alligator logo my husband and I were in the Navy . He carefull removed that log and sowed it on his Navy work jacket uniform lol😂😂😂 wish I had that jacket husband passed in 2007 . Miss him and his stylish ways and quirky sense of humor
Folks I want you to know that I received my straw hat in excellent condition, thank you thank you thank you God Bless, my hat is better than I expected, just love it, now I can say that I am part of Cog Hill Farm family, Respectfully Keith Hillis 👍🌷🌷💕
Brooke, comments from the two of you caused me to make an immediate turn down memory lane! I bought my first lipstick at "Kresses" in the late 50s (Tangee) and my first cologne - Blue Waltz, in a heart shaped bottle, and Evening in Paris, in a blue bottle. You might ask your mom if she happens to remember those, they were popular for quite a long time. 🙂 I really enjoy watching all of the Cog Hill programming! You folks are the family we all wished were our next door neighbors!
Jason, my son bought an old record player from Goodwill. He’s since purchased a newer one. So since I’m a momma from the 80s I sent him a Led Zeppelin album. We have a new monster. He has now come a collector. 😂
The ratio to reconstitute freeze dried items is weighing in grams. Weigh the tray, zero it out, write it down. Then weight with the food, write it down. When done, weigh the food again, minus the tray weight. So, if food originally weighed 400 grams, minus dried weight of 100, you'd need 300 grams of water to reconstitute. Don't use all the grams of water at once because of humidity that may require a little less.
I'm glad you found the advice useful. A great resource is the channel School Reports. As an example of his, when done drying the 1st time, it's a good idea to write down that weight minus the tray weight *and* put them back to dry for another two hours to check if indeed they are completely dry. Also, change the tray positions. This is very important if you are storing for years. Because, if after the two hours, tray(s) have *lost* weight, then they weren't completely dried. Again, write down the weights, minus tray weight, and put back into dryer 1 to 3 hrs more *until* there is no more weight loss. I hope that helps.
When I was in high school my friends mom worked at topps. We used to take tours of the production line and get boxes of free gum at the end. Her mom was able to get free uncut sheets of cards. We weren't interested in collecting cards so we turned them down. Boy, If I only knew what they would be worth today. I can see the old topps building from my house. It's closed now and has been so for years.
I like the high end leather purses and handbags at TJ Max. It's delightful getting an expensive purse (Coach, Dooney and B... Etc) for pennies on the dollar!
Another fun LIVE! I wish all the nasty scammers would utilize their ingenuity for the betterment of our planet and it's inhabitants. Corny but true. I am not a scientist or weather specialist but I watched a video re how much warmer winters are in the southern USA. A frequently mentioned link to the cause was global warming. I'm not a political person and I have zero idea if that's true but it was interesting. Brooke looks and sounds so spunky, more like her cheerful self. Brooke and Jason are such a terrific, dynamic couple. I enjoy all their videos across all their channels.
Thank you for letting everyone know about that scam. Hi like Brooke really don’t know how to scan that QR Claude because I’ve never needed to so I never had anybody show meow sometimes not knowing stuff about technology can be a blessing as long as I can watch RU-vid and watch your channel. That’s all I need to know.
Had to finish up the Live after supper. Hope you stay safe from the storm.. Have a Ball this weekend sorry about the Bus Not making it.. Jaon always Love your Dancing No matter when you doing it.. Take Care!!
Just love watching you all, my dream is to do something similar to you all, one day. I have been looking into freeze dryers recently and enjoy watching your videos.
I still occasionally listen to my Cassettes and my CD's. My car has a CD player in it. And I have a small radio that has a Cassette player. And I have a lot of old music it's better then now days music.
Jason, that was the funniest thing you have ever said in all the many years I have been watching- do you get a credit for Mary Carl not breaking a brace? I burst out laughing. I wore braces and my daughter wore braces.
I had many of my baby teeth along with grownup teeth in a narrow jaw. Sorta like sharks only not. So I had braces, and I'm glad for them. Wisdom teeth were done all at once in the Navy.
Several days ago on Facebook, I noticed that Cousin's Lobster truck was in Austin, TX. Maybe sometime they'll come back your way . Those vintage ceramic Christmas trees cost a lot now!😊❤
I got braces at 33ish. I’m 66 now and not sure why I bothered. I did get them because of TMJ. I had straight upper teeth, but a little crowding on bottom. Not bad, but a cross bite and TMJ was painful because I grinded teeth. Braces did almost immediately help. Now, with loss of a molar or two, bottom teeth are shifted. I’ll live.
I graduated high school in 1962. Grade school as we called it, was 1st through 6th. Junior High was 7th, 8th & 9th. It became middle school a lot later. And high school for me was 10th, 11th & 12th. For my mom, elementary school was 1st through 8th and high school was 9th through 12th. She graduated high school in 1942. They always have to change things.
@coghillfarm Walmart and Michael's stores are selling reproduction of the ceramic Christmas trees. I'd been searching for one and got one from Walmart.
I had braces at 16 and my teeth were so crooked, head gear was a possibility. At that time, no one bothered about how much pain you would be in. I got a Dr. note saying I could skip P.E. for that day. Wore braces for 2 years (that was normal back then) and tightening was extreme. There was no desire to eat for a couple of days. It hurts that much. But... Only 2 years and no head gear.
We used to ride our bikes to the store and buy hands full of the green Super Bubble gum. Felt so cool going home with my little brown paper sack of Super Bubble gum lol
I had the army green parachute pants in the late 70's early 80's. Made of silk like parachutes. When they wore out I would buy another pair. Wore them with platform sandals in a camel color and a pretty blouse. Dancing clothes!
I enjoyed all your memeories. That made me remember colloecting Beetles cards, lol. I think I collected everyone. Funny how time goes by so fast, and things change so much!.
Brooke, my son had that same mouth contraption they said it was because his palate needed whining and I had to turn the key. Well that was 20 some years ago but I remember it well
I had heard a while back that some of those square QR codes can be fake and steal your info... So.. I NEVER use that feature.. and never learned how! 😅
