Preventative healthcare is the best healthcare. Regular mental health checkups, just like annual physicals, should be the norm. However, it is too expensive for many people. The net benefit to society of making mental healthcare affordable to everyone would be enormous.
It's not just kids. Obviously a kid's parents need to have stable mental health in order to be a good parent...& that's when the kid has no mental health problems.
Way to throw adults struggling with mental illness under the bus. 350 million people have a mental illness. They aren't all bad parents. That is mental health stigma and it helps no one.
