Real football played by real men with real fans following it. That Everton team was something else and I think only Derek Mountfield wasn't an international. Great days...
Great win for Everton and superb goal for Graeme Sharp. This result set the tone for Everton's magnificent League Championship winning season 1984-1985.
Reyt goal by Graeme Sharp from a Wednesday Fan. Everton where our ultimate bogey side in the 80's and hammered us a few times at hillsborough in 85 5-1 and in 88 5-0, what a side they had in the 84/85 season, and Neville southall was the best goalkeeper ive ever seen. RESPECT to EVERTON F.C X
A belter of a goal from Graeme Sharp, which if scored by any European or South American would be shown forever and a day! But the bloke who celebrates on the pitch on his own with the yellow coat with his nhs glasses and his programme tucked in his pocket makes this realise what football means in these passionate affairs!! Relief from 14 years of hurt!
Looking back, the football was amazing, on awful pitches. Great British players and great British teams, today it's not football it just money, utterly soulless, the FA sold our game out!!!!!!!!
