Liverpool could have another chance to sign Manuel Ugarte after it became clear he is not in Luis Enrique's plans moving forward at PSG. In other reports, it has been suggested Luis Diaz wants to join Barcelona this summer, and the Premier League clubs will vote next month on whether to keep VAR or not

VAR is not the problem but those guys working in the VAR room are the ones the real problem.. They need to be trained further and thoroughly.

Just gives back the power to Refs & Linesmen - who are the same ones doing VAR wrongly..... hence still opportunity for them to do dubious decisions/fixes

Training is not an issue. They've been through all the training and have a ton of experience. They are either incompetent or corrupt or both.

As a Uruguayan, Ugarte is a warrior. Fits the premier league like a glove and from what I remember Fabrizio Romano stated he really wanted to move to play in the English league which is why he really wanted Chelsea. Bring him to the reds and we’ll have a number 6 for years to come

does he though? yes he’s a warrior and phenomenal defensively, but he lacks the technical ability which is arguably the most important thing in the premier league. That’s why Enrique prefers Vitinha over Ugarte as the 6 and Ugarte is no longer in his plans.

We know with a!l new behind the scenes new arrivals such as Edwards, Director of football, but I just hope all genuine Liverpool supporters give Slot time, and not after 4-5 games start making stupid comments or worse comparing him to Klopp.

UGARTE is a TOP Player and EXCELLENT Talent. Young, Strong, Passionate, Gives his ALL in every game. He won't be cheap though. I'm guessing around 50 - 70 Million Euros.

With a better structure in defence we are less in need of Alison's amazing 1v1 abilities but Ali is the ultimate hero for me so it would be sad times

We have to move on from him sooner or later, we always hold on to our players for too long, I get that he still has some great years in him, but better to do so now for a good amount to buy a long term replacement than lose him for free in a few years. Kelleher is already one option but we could easily get €30-40m for Alisson and invest that into a long term replacement like Carnesecchi f.e. We’ve also got some solid young goalkeepers out on loan, but I don’t see them having a future for us, so loaning them out and cashing in on them could be possible.

Hasn’t worked out because he’s phenomenal defensively but lacks the technical skills/ability. Which if you ask me is even more important in the PL. I agree he’s a solid anchor in midfield but you gotta have that passing ability and ball distribution under pressure aswell.

@@robertdavies4258 Well you don’t see the Roy Keane and Gennaro Gattuso type of players anymore for a reason. No nonsense defending, great to have but in modern day football you gotta be technical. Just look at Rodri who’s arguably the best midfielder in the world rn while he isn’t the best defensively compared to other 6s, he’s just so composed, never loses the ball and his passing is just phenomenal.

I personally don’t understand the Ugarte links. We’ve already got a promising, young central midfielder in Stefan Bajcetic at the club, so why would we bring another in? I’d personally bring in someone more experienced, or have Endo rotate with Stefan next season.

Lmaooo Endo and Bajcetic as our CDMs next season without Klopp's magic? We'll fight for the Conference League spot imma be honest. But I agree with you I highly doubt we'll get Ugarte anyways. I'm sure we'll go for someone cheap like Thuram since he's only 13m and he's somewhat of a CDM. I can see Macca and Thuram as a double pivot

@@blankn1612 Bajcetic got injured because he was overplayed last season. His immature body was not capable of playing that many games. But now he’s bulked up, he should be able to cope. Him rotating with Endo makes sense. Moreover, he’s not disproven. Bajcetic was awesome during the second half of last season. If anything, Ugarte is unproven. Bajcetic has proved he can perform in the toughest league in the world; the same can’t be said about Ugarte.

VAR is the best, gives fairness, at least for penalties and so on...plus it does extend the game, honestly from me, it should be same like tennis(time wise), many goals, having bloody fun ! Professional var (not bought by Londoners, Totham example) ... so yes clear var and crude punishment for mistakes of var. It's so much cash involved, emotional and other. So, if you can afford taking players for billions in this country, it's definitely money for logistics. Also I hope players will play for less in time, otherwise its just a mafia industry

VAR swapped one guy (the ref) making a mistake, but Nowdays 4th grade data nerds control the 'beautiful game' we in Sweden have never used VAR and it should be scrapped. We will never "fall behind", because we don't want to catch up. (Det var bättre förr) We want the power over Swedish football in the hands of those who love it. The Fans ! We should sign Isak.
