This is an extract from the 1938 film Homes For Workers. It details Liverpool City Councils plans for the buidling of tenement blocks within the city. I used extracts in my film Gardens of Stone which focuses upon City Centre living in the 20th Century.

I lived in Prince Albert Gardens, in Park lane, in the 50s and 60s. I have to say the houses were well built (not like today), and the community spirit was great.

I remeber going there to visit one of my mothers friends when i was a child. Small and tidy. By the way, that girl is a wealthy person now.

@Scouseculture2008, I used to live in Minster Court and mine was two bedroom, I think it just varies because I've seen a few different ones.

Though this was something of a propaganda film for the gas company, I think they did have some benevolent intentions in social planning and it seemed to have worked. -tarotworldtour

I love Liverpool..the Irish Welsh and Scots took it from the English and made it one of the greatest cities in the world. And as a Scouser who hates the English, i can't thank my ancestors enough!!
