In this clip straight from a recent Facebook Livestream, watch as Chick performs “No Mystery,” a song which first appeared on Return to Forever's album of the same name in 1975. In this same livestream, Chick added:
“I was out on a wonderful duet tour with my buddy Stanley Clarke, some years ago, and we played this. Stanley likes this tune, this is one of his favorites of my tunes.”

Heartwarming to see that the Maestro is human and makes mistakes while practicing like the rest of us. Some of those right-hand lines in No Mystery are challenging indeed, and it's fascinating to see Chick wrestle with them and smooth out the rough edges. Even the masters are engaged in a perpetual work in progress.

Love the way he chose to resolve it at 0:41 (and at least also at 1:57, 2:11). I bought the album in '75 so every part of it is burned into DNA. The world lost a treasure. RIP, Chick.

Greetings from Brazil. In 1975 at age 20 I bought No Mystery LP. The music knocked me off my feet. I said to myself: "How did this guy come up with this sound?". Didn't know who Chick was, knew nothing about RF nor was aware that Airto and Flora had been with the band. Having the chance to hear Antonio Armando play that in front of my eyes is a true blessing! Thank you, Chick!

Greetings from Japan to Brazil! We are the same age, and came upon this album at about the same time of our lives. Although I also loved other RTF albums, notably 'Where Have I Known You Before', and Chick's other albums ... especially 'Piano Improvisations Vol.1' and 'Crystal Silence', I think the first two RTF albums with Airto and Flora are among my favorites. It was those two albums that led me to a love affair with bossa, MPB, Choro, and Brazilian jazz - Elis Regina, Milton Nascimento, Edu Lobo, Ed Motto, Joyce, Toninho Horta, Boca Livre, and of course, the GREAT Antonio Carlos Jobim ... the list of musical geniuses from Brazil is never ending. Just last night, I was at a live show in Tachikawa, listening to Japan's 'Choro Club' perform their Brazilian influenced versions of the Toru Takemitsu songbook. The last song of the concert left me in tears. www.amazon.co.jp/-/en/ショーロクラブ-ヴォーカリスタス/dp/B08FP9XKVJ/ref=sr_1_12?dchild=1&keywords=Choro+Club&qid=1603619782&sr=8-12

Steve, glad that you enjoy Brazilian music. For sure Chick knows it in depth. On his last show in São Paulo he played some Tom Jobim, it was a blast! I personally think Milton Nascimento is the greatest Brazilian musician alive. What he and Lo Borges, Toninho Horta, Wagner Tiso, Beto Guedes and Marcio Borges did musically is comparable to what Vinicius and others did. Tom is one step ahead, he sits where Villa-Lobos is. But on fusion jazz Chick is second to no one. What he did is unparalleled. Genius! As Stanley Clarke once stated: "Chick created the sound (of RF)"!

@@outoper Indeed. Even though I am not a musician, Chick is as part of my identity as any book I've read or movie I've seen. I love Milton too. He has such a big fan base over here in Japan, that some Japanese guitarists actually went to Minas Gerais looking for a live house or bar called 'Clube da Esquina' 😂 I saw Milton live only once, at 'Select Live Under the Sky, Japan', but unforgettable. Among my favorites on RU-vid are the Boca Livre cover of 'Caxanga', his duet with Nana Caymmi of 'Cais', Elis Live at Montreux covering his songs, and his collaboration with Wayne Shorter on 'Miracle of the Fishes'. And although I can't read music, I love Toninho Horta's 'Aqui, Oh!' so much, that I memorized the tab score from an Almir Chediak transcription, and memorized the lyrics so I could sing the melody line as I played. But since I am not a professional, I didn't keep up the finger muscle memory and have forgotten how to play it. One Jobim song I would LOVE to learn is 'Passarim', but there must be at least 50 different chords in that piece ... way too much for my diminishing brute memory. Here is Jacques and Paula Morlenbaum in Japan, with the impeccable touch of Sakamoto Ryuichi covering Jobim's 'As Praias Desertas' ... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XYknOPBUNQw.html. Oh god, that is so beautifully haunting. Saudade. Some other fusion I really like is Herbie Hancock Headhunters (and his earlier and later albums), Weather Report ... and then a little later, Pat Metheny (especially the line up with Pedro Aznar), and Oregon ... particularly the 'Out of the Woods' album and 'The Essential Oregon'. (sigh) So much good music, so little time. By the way here are a few links to stuff happening in America that I like ... Liz Wright's cover of the Neil Diamond classic 'Old Man' ... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-38mjw81spec.html A new face, a female Stevie Wonder, Kandace Springs ... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-48CDu0fyWJA.html And Esperanza Spalding covering an old Wayne Shorter classic, and JMHO, but candy for the eye as well as the ear and mind ... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-aZ4uarjLsKg.html And a recent Quora link I posted that introduces a bit of Brazilian music, as well as music from Japan ... www.quora.com/Do-you-listen-to-songs-in-other-languages-than-your-own-language-If-yes-in-how-many-different-languages-are-the-songs-on-your-playlist/answer/Steve-Martin-223 Cheers Outoper ... I love meeting people that share musical taste. Wish Japan was a little closer so we could share a beer over some of the fine sounds. - steve

Imagine being so amazing and simultaneously being so humble to the point where you recite and practice your OWN music and say "whoops" when you mess up as if you didn't make the song. A true a student and master of his OWN craft, this is so beautiful. I love and miss you Chick Corea, thank you for everything that you've done for music and for me.

I find it comforting to see someone of Chick's ability stumble a little along the way. I love this song and dearly miss the bowed double bass. Stanley Clarke was amazing to see live. I always felt that double bass in my stomach. Thank you for sharing Mr. Corea!

Goose bumps. In the post Flora-Airto RTF line up, this song, along with the 'Where Have I Known You Before' album, were high lights from my bong-water, philosophy-reading college days. Still holds up well. 'Piano Improvisations Vol. 1' and 'Crystal Silence' were other favorites. Would LOVE to see a transcription/interpretation for solo guitar of this gorgeous solo. I could imagine spending hours and hours trying to capture those chord progressions on nylon string guitar. Oh wow! Just did a search and found this! ... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-eKESG0zXaYI.html Yummy ... looking forward to playing around with this ... maybe making lyrics for the melody line.

Hi Mr. Corea, I'm an avid fan of your music and enjoy so much watching your videos and vlogs. There is a question I wanted to ask, where you a strict bandleader?Because some interviews of some of your sidemen have negative responses in regard to working with you.I hope you don't mind me asking this, I just wanted to hear your side. In any case , I really do love your music. Cheers and stay safe.
