It's no longer a ghost town Brent, it's a museum and by the sounds of it, it may become a partially worked mine again. You have moved on and grown so much since your Wall Street days. What you (and so many other involved) have done is a miracle. Happy New Year mate.
@@manuelfrontier There are logistical problems with that and the problem of supplying enough water. But, It's possible. It would be nice if the corporate monsters never got their hands on it
Im so glad that Jean Ray went back to cerro gordo for one last time.... She is in heaven and smiling at your adventures and progress with cerro gordo... R.I.P. Jean Ray.... You are loved and missed.... Doc
Hey Brent, I've been going to the Owens Valley for the last 55+ years, with the sole purpose of killing trout. I also have spent the last 35 years working in the art glass industry. For all my trips to the valley I would drive by the buildings that once were the Pittsburg Glass Plant on the west side of Owens Lake. I haven't been up there in a couple of years, so I don't know if the buildings are still there. If they are, it would be great if you could do one of your field trips there and give a bit history while exploring.... Love your channel....

Happy New Year Brent. I've been watching from the start and spent the start of this year, still in bed, watching this video, dreaming of one day being there. I ordered your book and waiting for it's release. Being 70 , I'm running out of time to make it there. Please just keep my dreams alive with your wonderful videos. Thank you.
Your story has inspired me, as well as Brent’s rebirth of Sarag Gordo. I wish you wellness and the opportunity to be able to withstand a trip to Sara Gordo to meet Brent. I think it’s a goal you should consider before your depression.
It truly does take a village to bring the town/village of Cerro Gordo back to life. Thanks to your vision and dedication, Brent, and thanks to all the awesome and skilled helpers, Cerro Gordo shines and sparkles again like the precious jewel it is 🌟 Wishing everyone, including the lovely animals, a healthy and happy New Year 💛
Brent, thank you for including Phil, (and Wade) in the videos. I really appreciate you allowing him to be a part of your amazing project, and helping to give him pride and purpose. Patiently awaiting my copy of your book! Stay safe!
Congratulations on all of the progress this past year. Can't wait to see what 2024 brings for our favorite little desert mining town. Happy new year to you, all the volunteers, and all of the people who follow this channel.
Aww Jean was such a great person to tell you bout the Good Ole Days of Cerro Gordo!! When she was a child!! You could see it in her eyes the times she had there!! God bless her soul!! Your content is absolutely uplifting thanks for that!! Let’s you know this world still has great and good people in it!! God bless you on your quest to restoring Cerro Gordo!! You’re doing a great job, and we love ya!!
@Torchlakegirl Welcome to the Family it's been amazing to see Cerra Gordo along with Brent and the whole community grow. And when you have time you should start from the beginning because it's an awesome story. Cheers
I have found that being an "OWNER" of ones house massively compromises ones life with many additional things to do. Owning a "town" would be an impossible problem.
I hope you're finally able to get through one of the many collapses throughout the mines in 2024. It will be real interesting to see what's on the other side. Keep up the great variety of entertaining videos. It's a joy to watch.
My Family and I have watched you since you started . Its been awesome to see how much you and the town have changed. God bless you in 2024 Happy new year
Hello Brent, HI! from West Virginia. I'm so excited for you and Cerro Gordo moving forward ,making things happen with such positivity. It's sad to hear Gene's passing away. Her giving incite to real life Cerro Gordo. Her stories were so wonderful to hear .it looks like everything there is looking good. May your 2024 , awesome as 2023 was. HAPPY NEW YEAR!. May God bless you and Cerro Gordo , in all you pursue there. Keep those videos coming. I've watched since you began. What a treat to see your life in Cerro Gordo. Thank you for sharing your trials and tribulation. God Bess.
😩 I found your channel a month or so ago, because I follow HeavyD. I binged watched all of your videos. They gave me so much anxiety when you were in the tunnels 😂. However, also weirdly calming. Now I'm sad that there hasn't been anymore 😢. Please post some new ones. Hope you are doing well!
A Happy New Year to you Brent. I enjoy watching your videos. Im amazed at your adventures into the mines and traveling the goat trails and dusty roads around your town. It is not a ghost town any longer since you took over its guardianship. Have a great New Year.
Followed you since day 1 and it's amazing to see the accomplishments despite some horrendous setbacks, Keep on keeping on Brent! Btw, there's at least one Cerro Gordo T shirt tramping across the Welsh Mountains. You have a far reaching effect ol' boy :)
This video brought me so much peace and enjoyment on a really tough week. Great interspersing of the storytelling with beautiful scenery, interesting endeavors , and great camera work. Thank you Brent.
The Omega tunnel would be convenient, but even they weren't willing to spend the money to make it safe. It looks like one huge collapse waiting to happen.
Happy New Year Brent! I believe Owen's lake came alive again because of you, because of the energy and life you are breathing back into Cerro Gordo and Keeler. And the way you are inspiring and allowing others to do the same. Really beautiful and amazingly powerful journey you have been on and I look forward to the privilege of following along for another year!
Happy New Year Brent. Hope to see more collaboration videos with your amazing group of friends like @Danhurd and Jason from @mbmllc plus many more incredible humbled and kind friends you have. Was great learning from the adventures you have had thus far. I cannot wait for more informative and educational video's from your next year exploring the labyrinth of Cerro Gordo. Thank you. God Bless
This was a fantastic wrap up and what a great year you've had Brent. Huge challenges that you've met and conquered with your usual persistence and determination, triumphs in the form of ongoing hotel construction, timber harvesting amd milling for the music studio and continued mine exploration. Always entertaining, always inspiring. Well done on your many achievements and good luck in 2024. From Australia, we'll be watching!
1:11:37 Happily, Cerro Gordo's Head Honcho doesn't leave us with a New Year 2024 cliffhanger! Preview of Coming Attractions, right here! So happy you're nearing your June 2020 Resolution to bring back the American Hotel, Mach II! :D 👌🏻👍🏻👍🏻🙆🏻🙆🏻♂🙆🏻♀✅🥳🥳🎉🎉🥳🥳🎉🎉
What an epic journey Brent! I would love to come down to see Cerro Gordo for a day or two. Lake Tahoe here. Just about 4 hrs away. Keep up the great work! 👍
That sled looked like aLOT of fun. 😂 Can't believe it's been 4 years already. I've been watching since the first show. Truly wish I could be there to help once in a while. Or to be able to do something like this. But with a bad back, the best I can do is watch you and cheer you on. And get some ideas for some stuff to do around my house (100years old). I figure if you can do as much as you do basically being off grid, I should be able to things being on grid. You are such an inspiration. Happy New Year Wishing you the very best in the coming year. Stay safe.
Your videos bring me back to the place I feel in love with over 30 years ago. The Eastern Sierra Mountain Range is a view tattooed in my soul. Your dedication and hard work to Cerro Gordo is nothing short of amazing. All the best to you in the new year!
Happy new year! 2024 will be fruitful for this old mining town. It was a pleasure to come experience it myself, and was my favorite part of 2023. Looking forward for what’s to come. Cheers 🥂
Happy New Year Brent! I pray 2024 brings water to Cerro Gordo, that the American Hotel welcomes it's first guests, and I pray you find treasures in your mines that brings you good fortune and prosperity 😍🥰❤️
Hey Brent, truly amazing projects you've got going, congratulations on all of your achievements, its no longer a ghost town, it's a town! May the best happen for you, and for those who go and visit! Happy new Years!
Happy New Year Brent! I have loved watching the miracle rebuilding of Cerro Gordo. What an amazing job you have done. It truly is a wonder to watch. I am looking forward to 2024. God's blessing and safe keeping to all at Cerro Gordo from Maple Grove Minnesota!
Use the right building material for winter conditions. There, you will need to use electronic solar batteries and a wind generator to heat your house on the mountain. Once upon a time there were trees for firewood or coal.. then oil for fuel.. But alternative energy should be used. In winter, drinking water is usually stored in cellars. In the basement, as well as the insulation of the hangar, a thermos to store water. Because the outside cistern for water storage is frozen at zero in winter. Or we need to find a water pipe. We need to make a deep water well near the mine. A simple case for a deep well. You just have to look at the geological layer where the water migrates into the ground. You will be able to use a deep-bore water well there. A climate where there is always water is a good place for you. Water is located depending on the soil layer from 15 meters to 50 meters to 200 meters. It is possible to do it. You just have to look at it logically. I'm from a🌎---->🌍 northern Scandinavian country across the sea on the Atlantic side. That's why I see how you malachians are renovating the old mining village. Museum . History. Good luck to the rest of you in 2024🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉👍😎

Brent, it is not a ghost town, it is a town that is getting an uplift in the positive. More exploration that you will be doing plus improving the site. Cannot wait till 2024 to see what else you find and when the hotel gets done. Stay safe, warm/cool, and blessings. Have a safe Happy New Year. .
Dearest Brent, you are a true pioneer. Your spirit is so strong & your vision & drive are inspiring. I am disabled, so my visits to Cerro Gordo are through your channel. An idea for the special hiking trail: in the future, simple wooden benches at some of the sites with the best view? Many blessings to all for 2024.
How time flies. I think you were less than 6 months in when I Joined your family. You've come a long way! Good job Brent! May Your New Year Be Blessed and Bountiful! See you next year!
Few years ago i clicked on a video i thought would be cool, was one of your very first videos... Years later i still find myself seeking the next upload... Thank you.
Oh man, what a gift. This whole video was sweet. Like when friends include a letter about their year in their Christmas card. I hope you and all the good people making this vision happen, stay blessed in all you do. I'm gonna come sit in that dining room someday and checkout the view and very possibly have a beverage at that gorgeous beautiful bar to appreciate how you got that thing from Texas to there. Good to have something to look forward to!
WOW! Every episode has amazing progress! The hotel looks fabulous! As you say, an exercise in patience! But it is progressing! ✨ Happy New Year to you and everyone! ✨ Just preordered your book... Oy!! can't wait for it to be published and shipped! How can one get the "draft" issue? Anyway, all the best in 2024, be well and stay safe. ☕Cheers from Winnipeg Beach, MB, Canada!
