It's now been 3 YEARS(?!) that I've been living up in the former mining town of Cerro Gordo. Truly insane to think about from my end. It's been the best 3 years of my life and looking back on all that happens it has helped shaped who I am. I am so so excited to see what the next 3 years will bring.
Thank you all so so much for all your support over the years!

You have changed it from a dead ghost town into a "living ghost town" that thousands of people care about. You are your home are bringing history back to the surface both figuratively and physically. High fives and one day I hope to visit and find a way to help.

Hey, been a farmer for a long time. You stressed the point that one of the things you missed most is accessibility to Fresh Produce. I do believe a Geo Dome Greenhouse you could be vegetable sustained. I would recommend an aquaponic tank that you could administer to your plants using aeroponics which would save 90% from traditional grows. I would also recommend some raised-bed Gardens for potatoes and such. Inside windowsill herb gardens are a must. Also a basement can be utilized as the perfect place to grow your favorite culinary fungi. If you would like to bat around some ideas together I would love to assure you food security. Nothing feels better than eating your own food.

Frank Morris- I love your comments about how much Brent has changed over these past three years. I have relatives in Missouri who are Morris’s Joseph Zino, frank and Carl. My G grandmother married Joseph zino morris in 1906. She later adopted her own granddaughter who is my mom and her son was Joseph Eldridge who was the father of mama but weirdly became her uncle. I am so lucky that my great grandparents did this and they raised me as well on their small farm in Ogden Utah. Home for me is always 1021 the address to their lane and property. It was the garden of Eden for me and I loved it there. What fun to climb the bails of hay in the barn and make tunnels to find kittens and for the views from the window at the top. I was free there to roam and explore the river that was the life of the place and Papa knew how to do everything from building the eight houses and planted a tree for every purpose so fresh fruits all summer and canned the rest. Jam had a room for all of the trees produced and the garden was full of vegetables that we grew. We had a milking cow, chickens and pets in our backyard and pigs down by the river and to tease them was the most fun. I’d stand up on their fence which made them run as fast as they could and ram their heads on fence. What fun to watch and enjoy taking them some corn husks as a treat for them and for the cow. It’s weird what they like to eat. Anyway potential cousin. I’m just saying hi. Cindy

In my opinion your main library building, with the porch, should have a large journal, like the one Bilbo Bagins used in LOTR, and each visitor should be encouraged to jot down their thoughts on their visit to your town. They could inscribe a note to others, to you etc. As each is filled it can have a place of honor in your second library.

Hi Brent, thanks to your exciting quests for rediscovering the past lives of mining in our area here by Owens Lake. I pass it each time on my way up to Bishop. I've wandered alone a few times years ago taking photos of Darwin and was warned that I was lucky I wasn't turned up missing , by trespassing in unknown territories by disgruntled inhabitants! But, I find it interesting to search for forgotten areas , lost in times past. I'd love to visit your libraries and hotel one day soon. I'll be donating books to add to your collections and think that having a sign in book for visitors should be a great idea and complement your wonderful concerns for our distinct properties, unknown to so many travelers as they whiz past on their way up north towards Mammoth and beyond! God Bless and keep you safe, in your ambitious and exciting journies ahead!

I enjoy your determination and explorations Brent. As to your Omega tunnel, Frank, from "Exploring Abandoned Mines," has had a similar issue clearing collapsed areas in his Yankee Boy Mine. He has cleared at least two collapses by digging and loading rock into a mine car and rolling the loads out to the portal. I don't remember how many car loads he has removed but it has been hundreds. As he proceeds further into the mine he adds new timbering. A clear path to the portal would be safer and immensely helpful in removing all of the collapsed rock. A mine car and rail track would really help. Best of luck in clearing the Omega adit, it's very exciting to imagine what lies beyond the collapse! I look forward to following your progress. John

I stumbled across your channel VERY early on in your adventure and I was immediately filled with admiration and enthusiasm for all that I knew would lie ahead for you and that land. Although I watched religiously for the better part of the first year, then patchy thru the second, and unfortunately not as much as of late. This is not a reflection on your great story telling or beautiful film work....but more with my time to scroll RU-vid changes thru time. The reason I'm writing this is because during your intro to this video you mentioned how much you have changed as far as willingness to dive in head first to things that scared you or you knew little about amd also the exploration of the mine and surrounding land. I can say that you have become an amazing documentarian and your level of comfort in front of the camera and the ideas and shots you share with your audience have only improved 10 fold....(not saying you started out bad, you've just improved THAT MUCH!!!) I remember seeing your first video and thinking to myself, " I cannot wait to see this place in a couple of years from now." And I honestly kind of stayed off of RU-vid for a bit and didn't come back around much more. Coming back and seeing this on my suggested is so cool. It's good to see you again and I'm glad you're still at it. You're living a dream some people cannot live

Hello Brent. I am an Aussie and I have been watching your channel since the first time you arrived at Cerro Gordo. It was snowing on your first night when your car died. You have done a fantastic job 3 years on and I look forward to every time you upload. I wish you all the very best for the future that you are going to have exploring everything that makes you feel happy. I will be coming to see you in the near future just have to save enough to come and stay and help out with anything that needs an extra helping hand. All the best to you my friend 😊😊 love from Australia. 😊😊

I started watching this channel before our daughter was born. She turns three in two weeks. It’s a reminder how fast time flies by, but also how much one can accomplish. You are an amazing human being, Brent, I applaud you for the hard work you’ve done. And although I live in a small country in Europe, I hope that one day I will be able to visit Cerro Gordo and sit on the sunset rock, too. Yeah, that would be nice. Thank you.

First of all congratulations on that project ! It's been fascinating discovering both the town and your progress on your different sub-projects for it. Clearing the Omega tunnel can probably be done, or at least decently tried, without professional help. The key is to be super secure about it. The way you dived as deep as you could into it got me anxious. Now the video is out so I know you're fine, but I find it to be madness to just slip into any space you can without clearing it as much as possible. Helmets are the bare minimum but you've got that covered. Basically, before thinking of clearing the big collapse, what you want is a clear, fast, exit. You need to be able to trot (if not run) back out. So you've got to clear out all of the other lesser collapses that you climbed/descended. That's a lot of work, because I don't mean, put it aside, I mean, get it completely out of the tunnel. The tunnel is small enough as it is. Then a good idea might be to reinforce the entire tunnel further, because you can't trust the old structure they added. First because it didn't protect them when it was fresh, so now that it's somewhat rotten, it's definitely weak. That's also a lot of work. Then only, I think, you can start realistically thinking about clearing the big collapse. Otherwise, yes, it will probably require professional help, but that's going to cost a lot of money.
