"The most dangerous thing of all is a family of ghosts: a whole community of people who've lost the ability to connect with other communities, and who want to take and hoard rather than take and give." *stares distrustfully at elush houses*
It really is an exceptionally noble use of worldbuilding to explore and express themes of humanity and the human experience. This is just as good a tool as any more narratively focused elements of storytelling.
“Because they’ve seen what happens when those qualities dissapear and it terrifies them” Encouraging acceptance for survivability instead of the opposite! Love this!
Oh my, this is actually very realistic and convincing. I can so totally see how people would come to this sort of lifestyle and concept of what is right and natural.
I'm sure you may constantly receive loads of possitive comments, so that mine doesn't really mean anything at this point, but your content is indeed very promising, and the way your knowledge on anthropology and history gets applied to your conworld(s) is magnificent to no end. If it's ethically correct and possible to you, I humbly suggest you set up a Patreon so that you could earn more income from your content than RU-vid can currently provide. Keep up such wonderful content!
-as a twin i can confirm -lets also note that “not being able to connect to people” being considered “being without a soul” is pretty rough when you realize a lot of people who are neurodivergent (autistic, adhd, etc.) have that issue -also in a later video its noted that “if two lovers are of the same sex, one will be pressured to change their sex” while a different form than in our world, is still homophobia VERY realistic worldbuilding, and as such definitely not a purely good culture 😂 very interesting and well thought out tho-
I’m getting some strong “water-tribe” vibes off their philosophies of change, impermanence, relationships, and community. Even if your Sirksey concepts are meant to stand on their own merits, I’m totally transposing this worldbuilding backward into my ATLA headcanon as it just builds so beautifully on the WT culture. I still need to watch the others in this series but damn that was good.
How come you don't have at least 10000 subscribers!? You are very creative and your ideas are so original and cool! Please, keep up with this awesome work!!
I wonder how autistic people are treated in this society, we kinda famously hate change, or maybe cause the changes are neatly planned and expected it would make us even more wigged out to have changes stop.
what are the spritless ghosts like. are they like the fist type of ghost or do they even change at all the way you descried them makes me think of how Japanese oni are born
They force one of identical twins to just not be the gender they are? I forsee no identity based problems with this. I guess one upside is, a small number of trans kids never have to come out. "Mum, dad, I've changed my name to Steven and I want you to call me he." "Erm... Yeah sure thing son, but we already do???"
Changing back (at least for some of the year) when they're older is fine, cause then they'd be split up anyway most of the time. Sirksey gender is pretty flexible.
