As a Green Beret and master of resilience, Nicholas speaks about what it means to live by the Army's Warrior Ethos. He expresses the importance of sacrifice, determination and selflessness service and describes what the Warrior Mindset is all about. Nicholas Lavery is the first Special Operations Forces operator above the knee amputee to return to combat. He has five combat deployments and has been awarded the Special Operations Command Excalibur Award, three Purple Hearts, the Silver Star, three Bronze Stars, and one Bronze Star with Valor for heroism in combat. In 2019 he received his commission as a warrant officer in the United States Army.
