I live in a van in south eastern ct no drug or alcohol addiction i chose this way to live because i evacuated a hurricane living in florida and left with my 5 dogs. No one will rent to me with 5 dogs and I’m not living without them so this is my life. I dont mind it anymore its made me love my animals more and people much less.

Welll if im lucky ill get the van...other than that ill be on the cold...animals are my life..no addiction..college...to many health issues, Lawyers never won any case for SSI...lots of surgeries done, and three more to go. No help, unless you have lots of kids from different men in prison lol

Some sleep in houses, some sleep in tents. When you think about it, we're all out here fighting to stay warm, overcome our demons, and live for a better day tomorrow.

Connecticut is and always will be my home. The courts in Connecticut are terrible and there representatives and congress men and women are derelict in there duties and responsibilities to there people. The state police in this state are inefficient. These folks all of these folks worry about themselves and the judges follow the guidance of the same. Shameful. No good oversight and not a good place to be if you are indigent.

Somewhere I read you can get a general delivery to pick up your mail. As for ID you can see a social worker and they can help you procure a birth certificate and a social security card to obtain an ID.

I'm disabled and homeless 211 is useless and it's just a scam. I have a heart condition and the cold is killing me. I was referred to some lady wen I called 211 she was rude and she lied to me, she kept saying someone would come out and talk to me and then tells me they won't go to that location or the time they don't come out, but she told me to go to these locations and at that time and then said they don't come there I said you told me to go there. They give apartments to crackheads but not a disabled sober person, 211 toys with you until you get discouraged. That lady was so rude she had right to doing that job. Suicide is always a thought, I thought about doing it on the government steps with a sign saying 211 failed me and many others. I swear they deserve to know treating people like losers and jerks is 211s way and it's unfair.. I'm trying to survive in Plainville ct

Is up to us to help people like him. He's human like anybody else. I hope that he may get the help that he needs. Give him a chance to succeed. He deserve help . Common Connecticut , we can do so much better if we help homeless people like him.

I'm just seeing this now. He seems like a smart guy that got hooked, which happens to many, no matter your age and other things that happen to you. Id love to know the status, if there's a way he got help with some identification, food and some type of job. I worry about what is going to happen to many going through the Covid crisis. Is there somewhere we can donate basic essentials, food and water?

That's not true. You dont always have to "be an addict" if your clean. AA/NA help immensely depending on the person but break your mind in a positive way.

@@codis5722 hitchhike to Cali or Denver or anywhere. The world tends to be nicer to male hitchhikers, women tend to get raped and killed. Connecticut sucks. It's expensive, all 4 seasons, right next to New York so people are a little bit stand-offish/cold. The rest of the world isn't as harsh.

seeing all the nice stuff the guy has , he was better off not having his location given out. because if people knew where he was , they would go rob him. stuff like his hammocks , shoes , are super valuable for homeless people , and if they knew he had all that stuff he would be an instant target.
