Because of this video, I converted my 2018 Civic Hatchback into a great camper car! I can park many places and with window coverings like Alex made, no one knows I'm camping overnite! I have saved a ton of money on hotels because of Alex's suggestions! It's been great!
What kind of Honda? I’m trying to find someone with a hatchback. I have a 2017 Honda Civic turbo hatchback. I’m thinking a hatchback has a looot more room
To J... bro you must really love this girl. I know exactly what you do in order to fit in that honda civic up right . make sure you see a chiropractor regularly .. much love the over 6ft squad
"Just stopped in to see what condition my condition was in" song from when I was your age. You popped up on my screen and I saw the Civic so I had to watch..I subscribed and thumbs up and I shared video with a friend..I'm broken-hearted because I just sold my 2017 Civic because I am moving to the filipines..it was the second best car I have enjoyed in my life..my best was a 62 Corvette convertible,327,2-4's, positive traction, polished ports,Hurst shifter, aluminum flywheel and more goodies I am sure I forgot..if people knew how good of a car the Civic is there would be none left on the lot..44mpg on the interstate!! Unbelievable!! It was overall the best and most fun to drive car I ever owned and I have had plenty of cars in my lifetime. It makes me so happy to see you young people really learning how to enjoy your life to the max without spending a fortune.. Travelling all over the country with you and a Honda Civic at the same time is,,, PRICELESS!!!!!
I literally cannot deal with even looking at clutter. I've car dwelled while traveling and if my car is not 100% pristine with an open feelings, my anxiety skyrockets.
Wish I was more like you. lol. "Clutter" seems to appear around me without me doing a thing. I'm reminded of that Peanuts character where a cloud of dirt follows him around where ever he goes. : ) I hate clutter but I always seem to create it.
Can I just say, I found you when I was going through I hard and dark transition back into light and you really helped me with your sweet, genuine, adventurous and, joyous energy! Your optimism is super inspiring!! Praying for your safety and success! God bless!!! Ps.... you've made me want to van life... or maybe skoolie if I'm not alone lol baby steps girl! I love that you rock climb btw I used to like it before my accident but now I'm kinda scared to try it again lol btw super bummed I didn't get to get a ticket to travel with you!! I know y'all will have a blast!!
She hasn't addressed this but I think she got scared last year with the attempt to steal her gas while she was sleeping in the van. I'm not sure that she has done any solo van travel videos since then. She has gone full Marie Kondo in some and shown us a lot about her van upgrade and had other adventures with family and friends but it seems like the long treks alone in her van are no more or on hold.
I’m setting up my 07 civic si for camping myself. Ripped the backseats out and heading to home depot for ideas 💡 thanks for the awesome content. I love the out doors in the near future i’ll get a truck.
I've lived in a honda accord here and there for a few months at a time, it really is like musical chairs sometimes, haha. Those are good memories that I cherish. My wife would never go for that life, but it's fine we'll have kids soon and hopefully I can instill in them a desire to go off on adventures and they can start younger, since my parents did no such thing for me.
That's my husband and I 😂🤣......I'm trying to convince him to sell our home and buy an RV and be a full-time travel family. I want our kids to learn what it is to truly experience life and live.
Happy New year! When I was a Boy Scout, we played a game when new Scouts joined the troop. We lined up chairs in a pattern, creating an obstacle course through which the new Scouts, blindfolded, were supposed to maneuver. The Scoutmaster gave them a few moments to study the pattern before our adventure began. But as soon as the victims were blindfolded, the rest of us quietly removed the chairs. I think life is like this game. Perhaps we spend our lives avoiding obstacles we have created for ourselves and in reality exist only in our minds. We're afraid to apply for that job, take violin lessons, learn a foreign language, call an old friend, write our Congressman - whatever it is that we would really like to do but don't because of personal obstacles. Don't avoid any chairs until you run smack into one. And if you do, at least you'll have a place to sit down. ~Pierce Vincent Eckhart
It’s so nice to see you doing so well! I remember watching your videos when you had that big van and I had so much faith in you to make it taking on van life. As the years have passed you pop up on my feed and you amaze me and I’m so happy for you!
Dude!! We have to meet up again ASAP! And this time let’s caravan for a bit, we can plan it better than an hour hangout sesh haha. Hope you and Nicole are doing well 😊👌
I saw her put so much work in the van to make in into a fictional mobile home. It didn’t dawn on me the haver we pack a van the more weight we add to it and the more gas we have to by bc of the poor mileage. I’m sure the car will do so much better. The gas prices can sometimes be outrages. I start watching Ashley when she was in a car then a van. So we are full circle.
It's so much work. at least that how I always felt. Especially dealing with weather issues and not having a place to just chill. But every now and then, so cozy.
Thanks for showing us your setup, Ahle! Definitely less room to work with, but it allows you to travel farther and stay in more places. Smaller space, but you prove it can still be made to work.
@@Jan_Philip Depends on the roof rack and the car. A small engine compact could lose as much as 50% on the freeway with a large roof rack. A minivan with a big v6 might just lose 5-10%.
Goes to show you don't need fancy equipment to get out there. That said, if you get an older T1N Sprinter (5 cyl diesel) they get about 24 MPG and a newer 4 cylinder diesel Sprinter will get you 25-26 MPG, close to the Civic! Cost of entry is orders of magnitude higher, but I'm still blown away I can get near-economy car mileage in a house on wheels!
Make sure you can disassemble the bed and drive away, without having to step outside of the car in case there's an emergency, such as a bear outside your car.
Watching his from my Honda accord that I live in! The bed by lowering the seats is a great idea! Hopefully that will make my spine feel less crunchy in the morning
Daaaamn. That is a lot of stuff in a little bitty space. You should get a tow hitch installed and get one of those tow hitch racks and put your things on that with a lock box. It would free up most of your space.
I just love my Toyota prius. Bigger trunk in the back. I dont need to set it up so long. And I dont need to get out of car to set it up. I just climb from driver seat to the back. Put down the back seats and immediately it become a "Bed Mode". And Toyota Prius gas mileage is the best. 52 MPG in high way with 60 - 65 miles /hour. The only shortage of this car is house power and acceleration.
Wait, I understand sleeping in the car in parking lots or just overnight but if you are staying someplace for a week and have a tent why not sleep in the tent?
It's amazing how good she looks after living in a Honda Civic for months. I feel like most people would look like Squidward after just 1 night in a Honda civic.
This whole thing is so cool! I am definitely inspired by your Civic and would like to do a lot of what you did to my Civic. Keep up the How Too videos 👍👍
this is literally the first vid of yours i watched, but i would suggest one of those bumper-shelf extender thingies...gives u pretty much the same space as an extra trunk. dunno if a civic would even accommodate it. But i imagine the moving things from here to there is the biggest nuisance of living in ur auto.
Good luck to you and yours in your travels. I remember after a bit of living in a car, I learned to pack the car with the driver seat down, so I could sleep better. After an Erica Badu/Cypress Hill smokin grooves concert my car was 1 of the 13 someone busted into. Then i started disguising my belongings as laundry, with bed sheets and hefty bags--putting all electronics in the trunk. If i bought a car without a security system i'd buy dummy lights to trick thieves or leave a bible up front to slow them down. Great video and happy trails!
Get a roof top carrier and a station wagon or hybrid. You'll have more room, and won't spend so much time moving things around. Also, it you have a tent, sleep in it, it's much better than sleeping in a car.
