I love how you guys partake in the opposite of click bait! You do all of these cool things, like going to games, the Grand Canyon and Vegas, but entitle your videos based on mundane sleep settings! Also, it's great how you are both the perfect degree of eccentric for one another! Yay!
So happy to hear that you loved Los Angeles, it's such an amazing place, so many people hate on beautiful LA..just sad. Please come back again to visit!
I grew up in San Diego and then spent the second half of my twenties in Los Angeles (back in the 1990's). I miss southern California but we left because it's so expensive. I love seeing my original home through travel vloggers' eyes. Thanks! ❤️
So proud to call this city home! It’s definitely not all glitz and glamour, but as you mentioned the food is unbeatable and there’s so much to do. Unfortunately we definitely have sprawl which leads to more traffic and has exacerbated our housing crisis. It’s a beautiful place to live, with lots to do which makes it expensive, even if you have a high paying job. Also, our year round temperate climate and high cost of living means we have a very large number of unhoused residents which is extremely unfortunate. Check out highland park if you can! (Although you’ve probably moved on to your next location!) A beautiful part of the city with lots of culture. Also, proud that my state has been a major champion in climate legislation for decades. Our policy has shaped policy throughout the U.S.
Your trip vlogs are amazing. I look forward to them every Saturday! They are so packed full of content, well filmed & edited. You guys are doing an amazing job!
I’m so glad you got to try the ramen! I’ve honestly been thinking about it every other day since leaving LA 😂 it’s the best! Glad you loved LA too ☺️ sad to have missed you guys but hopefully we’ll run into each other somewhere in the world soon!
Great video as always, so happy everything is going well on this amazing adventure. Absolutely loving your haircut Leah, it will feel so good with the hotter weather.
Born and raised in LA and moved out to Bend Oregon. Honestly I don’t miss Los Angeles one single bit. Glad you two had a blast, but this was a reminder to me why I left. Just too damn crowded, I swear. i’d get a surge of anxiety just driving anywhere there lol
Love traveling in my stealth camper (aka prius). Recently discovered I can leave it running for AC all night. Gas to battery ratio is 2 mins for every 50 mins. Have fun!
I'm in NZ and completely relate to recognizing names of things in America but specifically LA from media. The influences from the US show more and more in culture here all the time.
Born and raised in Los Angeles and moved away because of the crowding and everything being so over priced. So glad you enjoyed it and took time to have many experiences. I do miss the food options and the beach❤ Hugs💕✨
Your trip looks so fun! I did a similar trip solo about 20 years ago driving from the Upper Midwest up through Canada, out to Vancouver, down to San Diego, and back home. 6 weeks total camping out of my ‘98 Corolla and staying in hostels! And three years after that I did the unthinkable: I moved to LA with my now husband. We loved LA and I say exactly what you did: I can’t believe I actually love Los Angeles. Ha! We eventually moved back to Minnesota but seeing your videos of hiking in LA, chilling on the beach, and shopping amazing farmers markets brought back great memories. Good luck on the rest of your travels and we are looking forward to more episodes!
Hey there Levi and Leah! I wish I had found your channel last week; I would have loved to have met up with you both here in Los Angeles. You did an amazing job with your "Prius" conversion. I have a LincolnMKZ Hybrid, and have thought about putting a tow hitch bar on the back, could you let me know where you got it from, please? I've told my boyfriend that we could take my car down to Nicaragua where he has several Airbnb's but he's too anxious about driving through Mexico....Thank you for the amazing content, not just entertaining, but also has so much value to offer your subscribers. Giving me some good ideas for my channel, just been taking a break from videos lately, however, you guys totally inspire me, so thank you for that too.!! Love Paula ❤
Born and raised in L.A. you should check out the Pasadena area and the Angeles National Forest on your next trip to L.A. it's a whole other side of L.A.!
I hear you on the traffic! I have only been to LA once, but between the traffic and the hills, I was beat and never made it to the beach after dropping our friends off at the airport, hopefully next time! Glad you enjoyed it and were able to refill at the zero waste store! Que les vaya muy bien en Mexico! Safe travels!
That spot at the Dogers game looks like where we sat on our high school band trip to Disneyland. Nosebleeds. Definitely more about the experience than the game.
It was a great surprise running into you two at the market food court. If your road trip happens to bring you through Seattle, please say hello! -Jesse
I have the exact same set up with 2014 Prius. I go camping often around California and I can't brag enough about the climate control of this car. I have the perfect temperature inside when sleeping in the car doesn't matter what temperature outside. Tail tent works perfect when I am photographing nature. I wish I have enough time that I can travel all over US like u guys.
I look forward to your videos each week😀. love that you guys enjoyed LA. I have a soft spot for the city since it my home. Definitely need more than 3 days to explore. Can't wait to see what you guys get into in Mexico.
Your hair looks lovely Leah! I started getting mine cut to a similar length over the past couple years and it's so much easier. I just love watching all the adventures you guys are going on!
Wow...what great experiences and so glad you got to see some of the great things about the US. LA is a favorite visit of mine when on the West Coast....good luck in Mexico.
I wish you guys stayed in Los Angeles longer! The city has so many things to offer. Santa Monica is a beautiful area. But Long Beach and Huntington Beach are just as beautiful. There’s also Runyon Canyon and Griffith Zoo
Hi 👋 great vlog! As always. Your moment seeing the Hollywood sign reminded me of my husbands dream to see the Statue of Liberty. He is also not a American. Growing up in Cabos he dreamt one day of seeing the Statue of Liberty 🗽. It made me very emotional when we went together simply because that statue was the first thing folks would see when coming to America as immigrants.
Yes, the food is LA is amazing! I could literally just go on a trip there just to di a food tour and eat. 😂 Leah’s haircut is super cute, great flow and texture!
I know you probable hear this a lot, but as someone who has been living his entire life in Mexico City, please do be careful in Mexico. That thing you said in the las vegas episode about having to lock the doors of your car in north Vegas reminded me of just how different life is in countries like Canada than it is to Mexico. I hate to say this but you definitely have to keep locked doors all the time and be on the constant look out. I don’t know which routes you will be taking but from the general picture I’ve gotten you will be driving through some rough states and things can get ugly. Seriously. Please be careful.
I was worried about the same thing! I have grown up all my life driving up and down mexico and the west coast. I'm happy to hear you guys are doing great. Have a lovely autumn!
Just seconding this. I have personal experience and I cannot overstate just how dangerous it is to be road tripping through there. If you haven't yet already, please research the best ways to protect yourselves there (if you are committed to doing it - I wouldn't do it at all).
This may be the only time I say this but, smart move to bring a plastic water bottle to the Dodger's game. My husband brought his old Miir bottle to a Blue Jay's game and security insisted that he let it go. He was so sad. He would take it everywhere. He asked that they not throw it out but instead one of the guards should take it home and enjoy it lol. P.S. im catching up on the entire travel series and appreciating every adventure!! Hope you're having a ball
Ahhh I had the pleasure of seeing Kikagaku Moyo just last week in SF! So glad you guys were able to experience them too, in LA no doubt! Truly transformative. LA is one of my favorite places and somewhere I could totally see myself moving to in the future. I'm so glad you guys had a good time! And Leah, the hair looks rad ✨
I liked Leah’s haircut so much that I’m actually going to go to Scissors this week while I’m in LA living out of my Prius v for a few days. I’m a guy, so this is the first time I’ve had long hair(due to the pandemic) so I’m going to try to see what Robbie and Sebastian come up with hah. Thanks for the videos!
Thanks for showing love to LA. Friends from out of state seem to think it’s a hellhole that you’ll get shot in. While there are a few areas to be careful of, overall I love this place. So much to do & see & overall nice people. I’m actually impressed it only took an hour for you to get from the Hollywood Sign to Santa Monica. Must not have been at rush hour. It’s such a pain to get there I avoid it unless there’s a work event. Which is sad because Santa Monica has some great stuff. But I’m on the other side of the hill. Where I miss out on SustainLA unless I make a special trip. I have Canadian relatives that also fit right in here. There seems to be a bit on Canadian/LA camaraderie. Glad you’ll be back. Let us know next time! But I’ll also echo what others have said, you also need to hit San Diego.
Mateo doesn't get much screen time, but I always let him watch you guys with me 💜 Miss you guys and hope your travels continue safely and full of fun! 🙏🥰
Born and raised in LA. Left it 28 years ago (for SF), though I visit often (Go Dodgers!!). Your neat video almost makes me want to move back ... almost ;-)
I hope y'all hit up Meow Wolf while in Vegas! It's an amazing psychedelic inducing experience. They have one in Denver and Santa Fe as well if you didn't make it while in Vegas. I can almost guarantee you both will like the amazing art and it's liminal spaces and satirical take on hyper-capitalism
I'm sure you guys have your Mexico trip planned out already but check out the Bay of LA ( Bahia de los Angeles) there's some great free camping there and when we camped out there we saw tons of dolphins, seals and rays hopping out of the water. my husband and I drove from CO all the way to Cabo and back and camped in our truck if you want any of our camp sites I think we still have them marked in maps. We loved Todos Santos and spent the most time there. Will you guys be coming through Virginia at all?
Thank you for the recommendations! We have a ton of flexibility in the Mexico part of our adventure so we'll try to check these out. And we'd love to check out Virginia in the new year as we slowly work our way back to Canada!
if you're going to be in baja when you reach mx, would def recommend a trip toward ensenada for a lot of really great wineries, and in tijuana plaza del zapato is a cool former outlet mall that now has a bunch of little bars for local breweries, a great pulqueria (flavored agave-based alcohol), food, etc
I'm still a little disappointed you didn't let us know in advance, I would have loved a meetup. but you win some you lose some... I agree the LA food scene is something special
Yeah we considered a meet up but we had a lot of visiting to do and honestly we weren’t sure if anyone would be interested. I get nervous hosting my own birthday party with my family let alone a meet up with people you know? 🥺
@@LeahandLevi yeah I see that. also with all the different ages of people watching the content(I think I'm a bit on the younger side) it would be weird to show up.
Great tour of LA and area. Best and Happiest post yet. Doing the odd MLB ball park is a thing. Listening to Flat Levi should be avoided. Drive on. Safe travels.
I’m surprised you didn’t check out a game in San Francisco (it’s a nice ballpark). Did you skip San Diego? That’s another great place, surprisingly not too humongous (and the ballpark there is quirky (I’ve been around LA, but never really in it, my only other ballpark outside of NYC was in Seattle, I wanted to see a game in Toronto, but my timing was bad (they were on a travel day, and the stadium was switching from Canadian Football back to baseball), so I did a stadium tour instead, got to walk on the fake grass (I think they’ve replaced it with a real field since the CFL team moved out.) Definitely recommend CitiField for a Mets game if you stop by NYC, it’s a great place!
Seductive. but you can see for example in the inconveniences of the ball game and the roads how it annihilates itself. 'If destruction be our lot, we must ourselves be its author and finisher.'
Ok I have an awkward question and I ask out of curiosity w/ respect not crudeness...You guys have said awhile ago that you are a thriving "healthy couple" how does that work with being on the road so much, just lots of vehicular intimacy or spontaneous locations to add to the experience? I cant be the Only one curious here!? Lol
Hahaha we actually just answered this question in our secret monthly podcast on our Patreon! Intimacy in the Prius has been quite something to navigate on this trip!
My son lives near dodger stadium, yah it’s expensive to buy beer at the baseball game, so just don’t . Yes LA is large , 8 million people. Also Leah, your hair is nice shorter & you really need to eat more fats, vegan gals all have dry frizzy hair. Or use a hair mask nutrient moisture mask😊
We literally plan our bathroom breaks haha. We don’t drink anything after dinner and make sure to go right before bed. Then we can make it through the night. 👍🏼 we also try to camp near places with bathrooms.
@@LeahandLevi oh man, that would stress me out. I would need a bed pan solution hahaha. Gross, but I can't imagine being in a Walmart parking lot at 3am and really needing to go.
