I'm originally from the Bay area and moved to Atlanta. I was super excited to finally experience living in a predominantly blk city lol. Whew, I had never experienced so much wickedness in my life 😩 I lasted 3 years and moved back to the west coast. Ppl are extra foul out there. The energy is heavy and demonic. I couldn't deal.

I'm in my late 60's and grew up here and there has always been fake people trying to keep up with the Jones's. It's always been young people in their 20's and 30's trying to act like the people in their 40's, 50's, and 60's who have made it and are living good. These days there are too many people coming here trying to get into the entertainment and RU-vid video business and thinking they're going to be met with open arms and when they get scammed or mistreated they act like everyone in ATL is like that. If you get with the right people you will enjoy yourself and you won't be going on RU-vid videos complaining your bad experiences that you brought on yourself.

Now it’s a lot of cold spirited people here. I kind of keep to myself. I don’t like the vibe here anymore and I’ve lived here all my life. Plus it’s too congested and getting worst. I was born and raised in Atlanta and I'll say this. Out of town transplants invaded Atlanta, moved here, polluted the culture, and brought their bad driving, and general ratchedness down here with them. There used to be southern hospitality and all that, but after waves of people from northern cities brought that cold, indifferent, off putting energy. The main people who complain about Atlanta aren't from Atlanta, and many of the complaints they have about Atlanta are a result of people moving here from other places. Inflated cost of living... Population boom from transplants. Bad driving... Usually a result of transplants from NY and Florida. Traffic. Massive influx of transplants... See also:bad driving. Hmmm. In her case, it sounds like she doesn't know how to navigate the city effectively. I know how to get around traffic using side streets and back roads... Ijs🤷🏿‍♂️ Materialistic people, fakers and scammers. Usually transplants from NY, LA, Florida, among other places Standoffishness, hustle-till-I-die, don't-waste my time mentality... Transplants from northern cities like Detroit, Chicago, and NYC. The parking racket... Yep, it's bad. But I don't deal with that when I go to downtown, midtown, etc. No boots, no tows, if I do pay to park it's usually in a deck, and it's not crazy expensive. Bad vibes... Sure, it's the collective energy of transplants who fucked up the vibes for many of the reasons listed above. Most of her other complaints and commentary are just part of living in a big city. I don't know where she came from in Indiana, but I don't know what she was expecting when she moved to Atlanta. But I've been reading comments about cities like Charlotte and Houston and they are experiencing a lot of the same issues because of what? You guessed it... Transplants. Collectively they often create the problems they complain about.🤷🏿‍♂️

Moved to Atlanta in 1987 from Los Angeles. 4:12 into this video - She is right and spot on about people don't want to have anything to do with you if you do not have any value to offer them. Friendships are only contingent upon when they need something from you. I am having a hard time dealing with this. Regarding networking, you still have to be careful who you engage with because the perpetrators move in those spaces as well.

@kaeshwe
@kaeshwe 4 месяца назад
I'm not really sure what area you live in but I am a Georgia native and live approximately 30-45 (Depending on that traffic you're referring to...lol) minutes Northwest of Atlanta. You are 100% correct, it's a complete nightmare. The money you have to spend to have a night out for dinner is criminal. Try to visit some places outside the metropolitan area and go see some beautiful places if you can. If you can get away to do that maybe you'll meet some really good people that will show you some Southern hospitality and the charm wer'e known for. I truly hate that you aren't being treated with respect and are getting negative vibes from so many people. I think it's important that you are reading the energy of those low vibrational souls and I hope you are distancing yourself from those people. We're living in a time where it's essential to use discernment and follow your intuition. Growing up here I had so many friends and hardly ever had any worries but the world is a different place from when I was your age and my circle is so so small now but I know with certainty that I can trust and depend on them. Don't ever let anyone try to dim your light beautiful. Sometimes your light irritates their demons. You seem like a very intelligent young lady with a beautiful heart and the spiritual war is real and has been for a while so if you're feeling the low vibrations/frequencies it could be that you can feel you're being attacked. The devil doesn't attack lost souls, he goes after the ones that carry love and light. That means you are doing something right. Keep on being your beautiful self and you'll find some real friends. I'm sending love & light to you now. ❤

The reason why ATL went down the toilet? Social Media The Atlanta housewives "lifestyle" mentality The myth of "Atlanta is a rich black city!!" (Atlanta has a VERY large rich and poor gap) The get rich mentality The old school values withering away (1996 to 2006 was the best era for ATL....) Single parent home epidemic (This is single handedly the MAIN reason for real because a Dad in the home can make or break a child's mentality and outlook on life.) Most are living outside there means and everybody that is in the music industry has a music studio. Which is either in there apartment in the bedroom, living room or in their mama basement. I'm not saying this is only exclusive here, but it's been like this since the early 90's. Oh and now we have the youtubers social media influencers and podcasters. I lived in ATL for 20 years and it was the loneliest 20 years of my life. I think the word you're looking for is cliquish. If you're different, don't speak, sound or act like them, you won't fit in. The natives will know you're not from there by how you speak and they won't like you for that reason. The fake "wannabes" won't like you if you're not fake like them. I know what I experienced. It was hard to find a genuine friend. It lacks family values and will force you into partying or doing things you don't care about doing. A single woman looking for a real relationship will be very disappointed. I have sat in traffic for many, many hours as you said. Sometimes accidents, other times you have no idea why you've sat there so long. Definitely pros and cons as I loved the Arts and Theatre. You just have to have your mind clear and focused on the reason(s) you're moving there. Great video and I hope people really listen to what you're saying!

I find it extremely disingenuous when people who are not even from Atlanta or the South, for that matter, all managed to run down here to do nothing but party and muck up the city. Turn the place into what it is, and then do nothing but complain about the mess they've all had a hand in making. The majority of the people in Atlanta are not from there, so they brought their crimes, stds, mentalities, and driving skills with them. That's what I learned through living in the A. A lot are complaining about the problems they created. And people are still relocating from the North for cheaper living and bringing all their mess with them and dumping it right off in Georgia, Texas, Alabama, and other places in the South flooding out our cities and driving up all our costs, and then complaining about it. Outsiders have done nothing but try to exploit Atlanta's social scene, and invade the city to throw much cheaper parties and events than they would be able to in a Los Angeles or New York, and now it's coming back to bite because Atlanta is getting theirs, too. Oh well...

"I am originally from the Northeast and have had friends who moved to Atlanta with their children. They all loved the countryside and the people. I never heard any negative comments about Atlanta from anyone who migrated from the Northeast. All I heard was, "When are you coming down?" However, I do agree that a lot of people relocate to Atlanta for what they see happening in the city, the idea that it's the next party town. I visited Atlanta and loved it. Although I'm not a party person, I enjoyed interacting with those who lived in the area. I thought the people were great and showed what Southern hospitality was all about. However, I just visited, so my experience was limited. I understand that those who were born and raised in Atlanta may be disturbed by hearing such things, as they take pride in their city and state. However, from my experience living in big and small cities, I know that any type of migration will make a shift in any community, which is what you are seeing in Atlanta. Overcrowding in one location will always bring some form of crime."

Born in ATL and visit on a frequent basis. Once your inside the perimeter everything is a money grab. I enjoy visiting the strip clubs but do that during the day only. The night brings out the Dope Boys, Gangsters, money throwers, shootings, and about every form of crime you can think of. Buckhead has now become Buckhood. Car theft is rampant anywhere in the city if your driving one of the models popularized in Rap Culture. There are very few redeeming features downtown - sky high housing to mix in with all the street people and criminals. Get 40 minutes outside of the city and you can dodge some of the traffic and find some decent places to live without having your head on a swivel. Visit the city only for a specific event or purpose - otherwise stay out of the city. If you get an hour outside of the city you will have exited the Bling and Rap culture and will experience a different world. Georgia as a state is a nice place with lots of southern charm. Get as far away as you can from the Housewives of Atlanta BS and you will find just regular folks with good weather and different activities to pursue.

It’s 1000 of places in the metro and I have been around in the hard of Atlanta and the metro area. I don’t club, I don’t party but it’s still a lot of things to do besides those things. Don’t let anyone tell you where to move and not to move. If God blessed you to move somewhere even if it’s Atlanta then do it. Don’t listen to anyone. We as blacks are the only one who always feels and think of a negative vibe or etc. It’s negative energy every where on this earth. It don’t matter where you move to or live. No matter where you go, if you talk to enough people, they are going to have something negative to say about their town. This is just the experience you will have in any big city. This is especially true of places where you have a lot of people angling to get into entertainment. I have lived here 20 years and it has been nothing but home. I've been able to build a good career here. I get to see a lot of black people doing good for themselves. My wife and I don't hang out with the money crowd; we tend to be around easygoing people like ourselves. We do shows, restaurants, and so on without breaking the bank. Born and raised just north of Atlanta, and moved to Atlanta right before the pandemic, and it's... not a great city. GA in general (when you go north of 285, it gets very white, very fast) too. I moved to Philly earlier this year and it's a completely different atmosphere. I've been back to Atlanta twice since then and there is a cloud over this city. There are some fun places in Atlanta (my favorite bar is still there) but everything you said is true. Some of my friends who had been in Atlanta proper for a good while were always lamenting that a really cool restaurant, space, club, etc was closing down and they were replacing it with a 5 over 1 and generic restaurants. Hard to meet and make friends, people do not let you in. It is also very clique-ish, even in church! You are So right about the driving, traffic and the crashes. I really don't know how we stayed there that long. Finally, moved back home, after 10 years of suffering! Continued blessings to you, and stay well!

Moved here 12 years ago with a job promotion. She is spot on. There is a reality TV mentality here - fake, phony, trying to one up the next person. The traffic is a nightmare, 7 days a week. There's no way around it. I've met people who were born and raised here who have told me how Atlanta used to be and how much it has changed in the last 20 years or so. I wish I could have experienced it.

I lived in Stone Mountain for 2 years and hated it. Jobs were far and few in between, the black police in Dekalb co. were worst than the white ones. I got a boot on my car at Magic City. Everybody was snorting powder, I hated that everybody called me "Cali" and said I talked proper. The one thing I did love was the women out there was fine in all shapes and sizes, fine ass black girls walking barefoot outside with feet still clean. I hated those vines that grow all over the damn place, you could drop a body in those things and it would disappear by morning. The mosquitoes was tearing my ass up. I was confused why they call "Rally's "Checkers, still mad that was the only place I could get gravy on a burger. Finally got a job at Emory hospital for barely a living wage. So glad I bounced and went to Fargo N. Dakota for a while and back home to Cali. Would not move back to Georgia if you paid me. And its been about 10 yrs since I left.

Bruh, you just had a bad experience. I was born, raised and has lived here all my life and there are places that would leave a negative impression on transplants. I lived in Stone Mountain 15 years before moving across town and Stone Mountain is considered a nice blue collar area. I don’t know which area you lived in but there the homes where I lived that are sold are selling starting in the $450s for over 4,000 sq ft. homes. Atlanta is so sprawling that your job might be an hr away. And Dekalb Co cops were better than Atlanta cops when I lived in Stone Mountain. In the black communities they’re all about the same. Just telling it like it is. People need to do their homework before moving here because I personally hear transplants say Atlanta is not what they thought it was. This is the Deep South. It wasn’t the native Atlantans claiming Atlantan as being the “black walk street” or “black Hollywood”. Atlanta used to be a nice place to live with nice housing for a decent price, less crowed, more laid back etc. Now it’s like all hell has broke loose and after living here all my life I now hate living here.

Call me weird but I love Atlanta. I left Oakland for the Navy at 18. Was stationed in Jacksonville, FL for 6 years. I had driven up to ATL to visit in 2002, got orders and was stationed here for 5 years. They made me leave for New Orleans sadly. I moved to DFW to raise my son, and got back to ATL in 2022. You MUST have an industry you can thrive in. As anywhere in life, you need to love your work. You need to be self-sufficient meaning you don't HAVE to have a friend circle. You need to love nature, because there is plenty to do with all these mountains around here. I love house music and was one of a handful of female house djs back in the day. House scene is still poppin'. Rent is back to reasonable since pandemic. I know when to drive out with the least traffic. I take the backroads. I shop at Aldi. I cook at home. If you are not content within, you won't be content ANYWHERE. A friend of mine was trying to get into film here, so she kept meeting all the fake people. I'm real, so I know how to suss out real people, but I mainly just keep.to myself. I enjoy my life, my hobbies, and the region. This is home for me. I would NEVER move back to Cali. Cost and culture make it so.

Thanks. I've noticed the majority of people who's complaining about Atlanta are the ones who immediately went to the nightlife, entertainment and hip-hop scenes. When the reality is that you're played yourself for even getting involved with that knowing that you're new to the city. While everyone that moved to Atlanta focused on employment and housing first, love the resources and opportunities ATL has to offer black people and is living comfortably within their means. I'm definitely there in a few weeks and looking forward to working and living around laid-back simple black people like myself. I was just living in LA for the last decade and I'm tired of being the only black person at the job site, smh. Felt like I was in Mexico, I'm never living on the west coast again

We to are from Indiana and with the level of crime here I am ready for a change but I can see how for a young lady that is a professional and in the workforce I can see how it could be overwhelming and we have noticed that the housing market is more expensive than Indiana but we have a home to sell and will be downsizing because we are empty nesters You keep up with your grind and find the atmosphere that matches your spirit and most of all be safe

No, Atlanta has not always been this crowded. The population increase excelled in 2014 and got crazy during the pandemic. I’ve live here all my life and have never seen this much congestion in this city. I hate it with a passion. Atlanta’s streets, highways, public transportation system,….etc can’t handle the flux of population growth that happening here and all of these complaints towards Atlanta are results of the growth. This is no longer the friendly, desirable, low housing cost place to live anymore. Thank god I bought my house before the house market sky rocketed here. I don’t see how transplants can afford the house market prices. Rent is high and I’m seeing homes starting at $500k and up in nice new subdivisions. What makes it so bad is that these homes they’re building for $500k would’ve cost in the $300’s back in 2014. Yet people are moving to Atlanta and paying outrageous prices for homes.

I am originally from South Carolina and I like Atlanta a lot! I have family in the city of Atlanta as well as in the S.W.A.T.S. area to the northern part of Atlanta! I do agree though about the traffic so much, but when you have visited Atlanta hundreds of times, like I have, you begin to know how to bypass the heavy traffic! I must say that those small hidden roads to bypass that heavy traffic helps so much, haha! The culture of the city as well as the southern hospitality got me hooked! Though, as the years have progressed, it seems that southern hospitality has disappeared though it is so much better when you are around people that are born and raised from the city! Thank goodness for my family being from Atlanta! Another thing that I like is the luxury of being close to other cities in Georgia such as Augusta (which I love alot as well so much), Mac-town or Macon, and another favorite city that I like is C-Town or Columbus! I also like the "Black excellence" that is throughout Atlanta! I experienced it firsthand back in 1998 and it was amazing! I guess what made things so much easier for me moving to Atlanta is the fact that I had family here, so that is a blessing! Thanks for the video!!
