I like the map at the end and the google places list - been travelling for years and this is exactly the stuff that adds value. Super bien hecho Sergio!
I'm a bulgarian. We live in Sofia but we have a place in Bansko as well. This video made me a bit emotional because often we bulgarians get stuck in a state of mind where we just see lots of the negative stuff around and the stuff that annoy us mainly as we had years of failed politics which resulted in lots of cities going on a down path and it is so refreshing to see a person not having the emotional baggage to just enjoy the good parts of this places. This reminds us that there is a lot of awesomeness around and we should also try to concentrate on the nice things. Good video ;)
Very thoughtful comment, @Stanislav Bozhanov. It made me think about how I perceive my own country: when you are too close to the tree, you can't see the forest. I'll follow your advice and get my mind on the nice things in Canada; and of course work hard to get to explore beautiful Bulgaria in the next couple of years!
@@alpineai I actually had no idea there was such a community in Bansko and I am oftenly visiting it for a holiday and some remote work as well. It looks like most of the bulgarians do not know about it as I did not see a lot of local people in the vlog...maybe there is a reason for that and that would be partially what Stanislav is explaining in his comment.
Just a quick correction on the bulgarian words - Hello = zdravey or zdraveyte(in plural or polite form). No such word as Svadreina exists. Blagodariya = Thank you. We also use merci, so you can go with that as well. Dobar Den = Good day(hello used during the daytime). There is no such word as Dobradef, no word for Good afternoon. It is just Dobar Den, which covers everything past the morning that is still daytime. On the topic of morning - good morning is Dobro utro. Dobar Vecher is good evening.
I'm glad that there are people showing the beautiful places in Bulgaria. The country is highly underrated and it's sad 'cause it has a potential. Thank you for making this video, hopefully it will bring more people here!
Great job Sergio, covering both the Nomad Fest experience, as well as Bansko as a destination for Nomads. Looking forward to seeing you again in BNF 2023
This was a great video for someone like me who is considering relocating to Bansko. Glad to see the Digital Nomad vibe, exactly what I need not to always be cooped up inside 4 walls. The nature there is beautiful!
Dude, it´s such tremendous work behind the scenes no doubt about it. Thanks for that Sergio bc your videos always make me feel I am physically there! Inspiring as usual. Keep rocking!!
This is so well produced and captures everything perfectly. I'm also glad to be briefly captured in one of your videos too :P. Crazy impressive turnaround given that the festival was like barely a couple of weeks ago, and that the video is so well done. Glad you captured the street cats - they're one of my favourite things about Bansko!
pity not to have met you. I spent two days in Bansko and I leave tomorrow. I'm walking from Venice to Beijing along the "silk road" and I tell everything I meet people, food, folklore, the territory. Bansko I wanted to take a detour because the territory has a lot of history to tell.
Sergio, good video. How about the cost of living in Bansko? Room rental? Co working space cost? Internet quality and cost? A total monthly cost would be helpful. It is nice to show the activities but unfortunately for most people it is misleading when all these Nomad videos show people eating, drinking, dancing and doing everything but WORKING. As the economies reset after Covid, employers are not going to pay people very much money to be anywhere except in their office, working. The flakey business like Amazon drop shipping are going to be gone and people will have to WORK. Entrepreneurs who hope to make a success will be working long long hours to make it happen. Please show that side of the equation.
There's a cost of living rundown at the end of the video. Also dropshipping is not common anymore, there's people working remotely with all kind of jobs earning enough to live anywhere
@@sergiosala Thanks for reply and best of luck. There are also many billing multiple companies and getting caught and many companies now want their people back in the office so work gets done instead of all the leisure activities being shown in videos which contribute nothing to their business.
Sergio, we had to stop this video so many times and just take in the beauty of Bulgaria. Amazing drone work. Miss those types of pastries from when we were in the Balkans.
i’ve been going to bansko for years and just fell in love with it. It made me so sad to see lots of businesses struggling due to covid when i went this year
@@sergiosala I’m hoping I get to meet him while I’m traveling in Europe. I live in California, but I travel five times a year. I traveled to 41/45 countries in Europe.
Excelente video Sergio.
Super detailed and enjoyable video, amigo. Looks like a mini movie. You should be paid for every second by our stupid and useless Ministry of Tourism. Respect! I hope your video reaches even more views because you did a very good job promoting our country because we are very tired of banal and negative etiquettes on an almost daily basis. Edit: Your video has even more views than Gabriel's one on Bansko! :D
Sergio , I just saw you in the Gabriel's video about Bansko. Glad that you enjoyed your stay there! I go there just in wintertime, but obviously there are another interesting options for the summertime. Thanks for the representation and good luck for you and your channel!
I am from this town now living in UK, super nostalgic watching your video. Thank you so much for you amazing content! I subscribed and would love to see more
Always people who come from the US amaze me with their physical strength but in the same time I feel so bad for them...as this guy is Mexican/American reality in those places for a man is very harsh...unless you don't have a big biceps and look like a turkey is a high chance you will be bullied or even get killed...!
Hello, I hope you liked my homeland. If you have more free time, go around Bulgaria, we have very beautiful nature and rich history. It is for your own safety to stay away from gypsy ghettos. Have a nice day.
Excellent intro to the place and the community, Sergio! I loved the pace, and the way you give your audiences a glimpse of both the overall vibe and unique places and experiences. Great meeting you there and see you back on the road in another beautiful place!
Thank you, Sergio, for this video. You made me go to Bansko. I will be there starting next week for 2 months. I’m excited. Keep sharing your experiences. I love it.
The skiing and snowboarding is great and you can avoid the gondola queues by getting a season pass. You’ll spend more on electricity (unless you sleep in your thermals) but you can still eat and drink way cheaper than most ski resorts especially if you know the right places.
thank you for making this video! I`m researching Bulgaria and where to stay as a digital nomad and your recommendations are so helpful - I didn`t even know Bansko existed, such a gem! It has everything I`m looking for so I will definitely check it out this Summer!
Amazing vlog, I joined from Gabriel channel and I’m impressed with your vlogging skills and smooth talk 👏🏼🤩 I wonder who is singing at 20:52 she truly looks like a rock star 🤩
Nice to see you enjoying this beautiful country. Just a small note, bathing in the mountain lakes is forbidden and can be fined for it. Let's try and preserve these wonders of nature. :)
I always wonder why this is the case. Here in Switzerland we can swim in all the lakes - it's encouraged even - and the lakes are some of the cleanest In the world

Hey guys! Can any local tell me more about the electric bills during the winter time. I’m interested of buying a small apartment in Bansko, it’s simply beautiful but I’ve heard a lot of negative comments about high electric bills. If anyone knows more please let me know! Thank you for the amazing video
Hi Sergio :) Thanks for the video, I'm currently staying there and was wondering how to find the Bansko Street Dogs asso location? I've been to the one pinned on Google maps ans there was nothing there. I contacted them but they didn't reply to me.
