@@antiwarantipoverty7908 Exactly. I dont see that it should be a bad thing. Even I am not black myself, I still get treated like a celebrity because of the fact that I am an American citizen. Chinese people love America and wants to be friends with anyone from there or any foreigner. Americans are privileged everywhere they go.
LOl it is so common for Chinese to take pics of foreigners in less International cities like Guiyang. However, if you go to Beijing or Shanghai, where people are used to others that look different from them, nobody would ask to take pics with you. I remember the time I went to Mexico City as an Asian, people there asked to take pics with me and my friends, but in Cancun, nobody cared about us.
This may happen in small cities or in the countryside, because you are curious to take pictures, in big cities, there are too many foreigners, no one will pay attention to you. When we Asians show up in the Italian or French countryside, the locals ask us to take pictures。
Ummm... I'm Chinese myself, but tbh I'm kinda embarrassed about my fellow people's behavior. Sure they have no evil intentions, they just feel it's fresh new to see people with different looks and different skin. People, especially from small cities only see people with other skin colors on tv, that's why they take photos of you guys and not even ask for your permission. But still, I'm really sorry about your experience, I can feel the uncomfortableness! Just try and go to international cities like Shanghai, Beijing, Guangdong, Zhejiang and Shenzhen, it'll be much better. But you sure will get some stares... People are just so curious...
Hey, i am black from SA, you don’t need to feel bad, i would have done the same thing myself....i feel very very excited when i see foreigners in my country
@@stephany6417 Yes exactly. But some ppl, they are not that educated. They just take foreigners as superstars or some entertainments, not as human beings with feelings. So...
Even tho they stereotype things a lot I can’t ever hate them. Chinese are probably one of the most innocent people out of the many countries I’ve travelled to. Especially the kids..their innocence is so adorable 😂♥️
My friend who is the first Asian in her village in Germany after she married to her German husband, she also experienced same things too. People are all just processing and learning in this big big world . Thank you for being so opened and wise to learn about Chinese culture and accepting their curiosity. Furthermore your friend is TALL! This is will the Chinese more curious too . Tall lady is beautiful in Chinese mind .
You are one of the people that inspire me as an African-American to learn Mandarin & Cantonese and travel in China in the future. It is beautiful country with many amazing things and people in it.
I like that you are also 'liking' or 'hearting' EVERYONE's comments. That will make your channel grow since it shows that you are intrested in the comment sections and you are enaging. also... I am Nigerian like you (specifically Yoruba tribe) 🇳🇬 and I love your accent!!
Really fun videos! I'm a fellow black girl in China and everything you said, I found it to be accurate AF!! Your personality is so vibrant:) You've deff got a subscriber in me!
Luckly you are in one of the poorest province in China, therefore the chinese are very curious and talkative to foreigners. In east coast provinces and big cities, they will not give you an extra glance.
As a South African who has lived in China for over 5 years, I still get pictures lol and people saying "呀,你的中文很好" lol. The culture in the country is amazing, developed after 5000 years of history. Excellent video, gave like!
@@mtlmenace8590 why do people always see black and assume wherever they go there's racism against them? I really dislike this mindset, I actually find it insulting like there's something wrong with being black so you immediately assume people hate you. not everyone is out to get us, most people just don't care and are focused on living their lives. Been in China for 4 years, never experienced racism. quiet the opposite, people want to get close to me. there's a sort of privilege, you get special treatment in a very good way like free tables, good service etc.
My wife and I foreigners living in Chengdu. We get a lot of photos taken of us and the babies. People here in Sichuan are really chill, generous, and kind even to strangers. Even though the attention is awkward 哈哈 we always feel welcome. Chengdu is the best!
I also live in China. But my chinese language ability is terrible. I need to work hard like you. Whatching your videos really makes me see how Knowing the language can open people up. It's the only way to truly be able to connect with Chinese people.
me, as a Chinese, often asked to take photos with local people in Thailand...I don't feel uncomfortable or offended, they are all very friendly and nice, I just curious why...we are all Asians I look no big difference from them😄
THIS IS HILARIOUS!!!! THE POOR BOY WAS SO CONFUSED 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣.... You are FUNNY! Love your stuff. We are also in China so I can relate to everything of course 🤣🤣🤣🧡🧡🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
I like your videos. The editing and happy happy feel got me. I'm Chinese too but live in the land below the wind. I had a friend from Africa years ago when he was working here. He's back in Africa today I think, not sure cause he never emailed me anymore after a while, he was working in Saudi. Anyways I'm subscribing. Thnks ya all.
I’ve had a similar question asked when me and my brother who are mixed race worked at a kids summer camp in a mostly white town. A kid innocently asked if we’re brothers how come one is darker and the other lighter. I explained that just how your sister can get blue eyes from one parent and you can get brown eyes from another parent the same thing can happen with lightness and darkness. I wasn’t offended but was more disappointed with American segregation causing ignorance. But my brother one day was yelled and called the N word walking in that same town on our lunch break from that job by a group of people in a car who slowed down and honked the car called the profanity and sped off. This was in 2012. Hate is mostly learned not born into.
@@ungegreier1802 You'll be surprised but black people never travel to Asia that much until recent years so yeah they don't see us in real life, just on TV
This is much like Japan. We Japanese do not see foreigners often, especially dark skin ones. Often you would be compared to Nicki Minaj if you are female or a basketball player if you are male in Japan.
What really? Isn't that Japan is one of the most visited country by foreigners? So therefore, it's very unlikely that Japanese don't see foreigners very often, most especially if they are in Urban area.
Truly enjoyed your vlogs, thank you. I don't have to funds to travel, so I really enjoyed seeing and visiting people through your eyes and videos. Thanks for also having a great attitude even when things don't go as planned 😁
I think these reactions are quite fun if i'm on vacation. But to have this every single day is a bit hard. lol I went to Japan and lots of people called beautiful and some wanted to touch my hair. I was neat haha i felt seen. :)
You just know ,when they go back home, they are gonna show off the pictures to their other families and friends, some probably would say they made foreign friends lol
Oh my goodness!!! I cannot imagine what it would be like to have all those people staring and filming and bombarding my space all the time. You two are like celebrities!!! Have fun and take lots of pictures so you don’t forget one day! (And if you don’t, it appears the Chinese people will have plenty of documentation of your time in China!)
QueenBee I really like your vids and I love your personality but when someone asks you why you're black, why don't you just tel them? It's to protect you from UV radiation from the Sun and it helps stop you getting sunburn, skin cancer or aging prematurely
Jesus love you, he died on the cross for you, accept him as your lord and savior he can change everything. For God so loved the world that he gave his only son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life" (Jn 3:16" But you must repent too. From that time Jesus went about preaching and saying, Let your hearts be turned from sin, for the kingdom of heaven is near. (Matthew 4:17)…
Asking someone to take a photo is a very good gesture. They are kind, humble, friendly and, being hospitable to u guys don't misunderstand and think that ur being asked to take photos with u because ur popular, instead if I'm being asked to take a picture in Western countries I'll be so glad because I'm being valued. No one will like to take a photo with a normal people unless they are celebrities. But in ur case they did. So dont always look down people's goodness just because they are chinese. But yeah so far u guys are doing great appreciate u guys for being so friendly too.
Wow, what an awesome video. Great editing. Except I don’t know if they wanted to take a picture with a foreigner, or with a giant. Maybe I’m wrong, but you look very tall.
Im half Chinese and half African American, but I look mostly black, when ever I goto china millions of people and kids ask me if im black or like "why are you so dark?" but im ok with it lol
I heard the song that I used to sing when I was a kid at the end of your video, that’s the Cantonese song for the kids and Guilin people don’t speak Cantonese, so it’s a surprise for me and also it very warms my heart. ❤️❤️❤️
I love how you were playing with little dude’s schema. He was assimilating really hard 😂 But whew look at ya! ya were like some celebrities or something 👏🏼🙌🏻
been around the world, met a lot of people from various cultures....nothing captures my attention and pulls me in like the beautiful smile of the original woman.
I am so glad you enjoy traveling in China. Most Chinese are very hospitable. They Love to say hi to foreigners. The only thing is annoying, They always wanna take a picture with foreigners, because for most of them, there are rare chance to get in touch with foreigners. They do not how to greet people. They just wanna take a picture for a good memory. Hope people can understand them. Btw, when I was young, my mom also asked me to speak English with foreigners. Lol. I didn't wanna do. But for most Chinese parents always want their children to be brave to talk with people who are from different culture. Now, if you go to big or international cities, there will be much better for foreigners. We always have debate how to greet foreigners. Finally, We are told do not take a picture or do something without foreigners agree. And also. do not stare at them, it's very rude. From generation to generation, Chinese will know much better how to greet people and show their love. Welcome to China!
I plan on living in Shanghai, I am 17 in America currently, I love America so much, but I want to try something new. I’ve been to Europe, USA, and Africa, but China just sticks out for me.
Well, the thing is there are only a very small number of foreigners can be seen in China. The number in big cities like Beijing and shanghai is growing rapidly but in places like my little hometown, you can't even find 10 in the whole city. So people got curious, especially elders, to them who had little contact to the outer world it's like a whole new different world to them. Younger people who have more access to the internet are much cooler now.
My mom used to force me to take a picture with foreigners when I travelled in Shanghai 15 years ago and it was soooooooo embarrassing for both me and the guy. But you know, mom is mom.
