Great videos. I'm planning to go to Montenegro, Bosnia and maybe Albania when Croatia/Schengen makes me leave next month. I'm pleased by the house prices in MNE, AL and the relaxed residency policies for home owners (unlike here).

@@nomadtoriches You might want to recheck. Bosnia is no- EU and non- Schengen, however they are party to some provisions for Schengen residents as it concerns border crossing/visa free entrance. I live on the border with Bosnia (in Croatia) and there is 100% a border check between Schengen and Bosnia.

Excellent video. I agree. We love Montenegro, too. A suggestion to enhance your production is to face the window instead of it being at your back, although I understand why you did it that way. I hope that you don't mind the comment.

when rents are so cheap in Montenegro why buy? Top rentals in the city are at the most $500 USD for a 2 bedroom apartment, I can make 7% return on $180,000 easily, that is $12,000 a year, rent is $500 a month, you are ahead $500 a month by renting instead of buying, I am a numbers person, it makes way more sense to rent, also if renting you can leave anytime you want and only lose a month's security deposit. Often when we are travelling we find out we really do not like a place as much as we thought we would, so when renting we just move on, no big deal. It would be very hard for me to actually buy anything property wise.Way to many hassles and expenses.
@WarrenJulieTravel
@WarrenJulieTravel 4 месяца назад
Are you confusing Albania with Montenegro? We did cover two countries in this video. We own in Montenegro, which does not fit the scenario that you’re speaking of. Renting vs owning in Albania makes sense. Montenegro on the other hand along the coast will provide strong rental income during the summer, and a two bedroom in these areas aren’t available long term for $500.

I enjoy coming back to your videos. Very inspiring. 👏 I keep looking at ways to build more assets that will help increase our monthly income. Thanks for showing that youtube can become one of those assets. We've set up a 5 year plan that should provide $500-$1500 extra a month. Using print on demand, Kindle low and medium content books, e-books, and content creation. 🤔🧠💰 Have you done a video on the different types of "semi-passive" assets/ revenue streams?😊👍 Based on what you currently do and what other travelers/expats are also doing.😊💡👍

Hello been following your channel for a while now. You mentioned that you are an insurance broker. So, I have been trying to gain an understanding about the types of health insurances that exist and I vfound that there "expat insurance" , travel insurance, and international major medical plans. Can you you explain which of these do you recommend for a couple with pre-existing conditions (high blood pressure and high cholesterol) both under control through medication. Planned retirement age is 60 for him and 55 for her. Medical insurance is our biggest stumbling block that is keeping us for retiring early

When we were living in the US 50 months ago we shopped Publix, Aldi, Super Walmart, Target & Costco. Most important is the total average for monthly groceries, individual items are for general knowledge. We are not trying to impress you, rather educate. Thank you for the great info! Is your home available to rent via Airbnb only during certain times of the month, and do you have a link? Also, you guys own your home, no mortgage, correct? Just wanted to clarify, as we would need to factor in the cost of renting each month on top of the $2256 you mentioned. I've not looked at the cost of renting there yet, but was just curious about that as we wouldn't want to jump into home ownership without renting for at least a year or so.
@WarrenJulieTravel
@WarrenJulieTravel 4 месяца назад
Thanks for watching the video, to clarify our cost as homeowners per month was $1464, the renting price we gave was $2256. We do Airbnb our home, however, this home that we have now has actually never been rented through Airbnb. It’s always been through viewers. Have direct contact us. We only have one month open this year and that would be from September 11 until October 10. Dates and time. Will fit for you let us know, we want at least a one week minimum stay. I will give you the Airbnb link so you can take a look. The dates open again are the ones I provided to you earlier. www.airbnb.com/slink/SbP6khqA You can feel free to contact us directly if you want to talk about renting our home during that time. I have Hungarian citizenship, US citizenship and I also got permanent residency in Mexico because I though I wanted to live in Mexico. However, that might change and I move to Europe (I left Hungary 23 years ago). I can freely travel and live anywhere within the EU. I only speak English and Hungarian. My question is that can you live comfortably in any countries in Europe by only speaking English (my Hungarian has not much use outside of Hungary)? I`m single and I was also wondering how hard it is to find friends as a single woman (if you know). Which places have good expat communities? Not sure if you covered this topic (language barrier/expat communities) in any videos. If you did, please let me know. Btw, I love your videos. I`m a number person and I always calculate cost of living, etc.

Curious - you mention international health insurance. You don’t seem of the age, but if you are, did you decide not enroll in Medicare? I’ll be 65 next year, hoping to slow travel but finding that while you state a monthly social security benefit amount of about $2900 for a couple, that doesn’t seem to account for the almost $400 per person U.S. retirees have to pay for Medicare coverage.
@WarrenJulieTravel
@WarrenJulieTravel 12 дней назад
If you want for me to speak to your personal needs where you plan to go, please email me at warrenjulietravel@gmail.com. There are a lot of retirees that forego Medicare living abroad. We are not suggesting to do that, just stating what we know based on the people we know living abroad. When we give our budget we are basing it with our medical coverage and you are correct we are not Medicare age. We are 56 and 49. Medicare is expensive.
@alexsalamah7140
@alexsalamah7140 4 месяца назад
Sorry follow-up question, so os the $2256 includes the $1400 or so for home ownership expenses? Or are your expenses around $3600 total?
@WarrenJulieTravel
@WarrenJulieTravel 4 месяца назад
We own our home, so our costs including utilities, medical insurance and a dental visit, but not including buying electronics, gave a monthly for a couple total of $1464. The cost to live here minus utilities not including the electronic one off purchases was $2256, we charged a $1200 month for Airbnb estimate for this time in the total. We include this amount in our annual averages since it is our average expense. Long term rent could be much lower. We did not include the $900 in electronics we spent in either total, they were one offs that would not be part of the typical monthly slow travel budget. Information provided for those considering a move to Montenegro and a general idea of costs.

Very useful video. If you don't become a Montenegro resident, and want to stay their say less than 90 days, don't you have to pay a tourist tax for every day you are there? Did you need to figure this into your monthly costs?
@WarrenJulieTravel
@WarrenJulieTravel 3 месяца назад
We do not have to pay the tourist taxes as we are homeowners, but when we pay our property taxes, we are obliged to pay an additional tax which we understand is because we are not citizens of Montenegro. It was still extremely reasonable. Our property taxes and that tax combined came to $315 for the full year.

As someone from the UK, the summer month rentals are expensive, and the weather is cold/unpredictable from Oct to march/April. Most cities are expensive to stay in, so it is best to stay 20 mins away and train/bus into the city. Car parking in Manchester can be £17 a day. There is some beautiful countryside in wales, Peak District + Scotland. Eating out is more expensive than Rhodes + you need to carefully review before visiting. We visit spain a lot, and the menu of the day (menu del dia) is great value. Usually 2 courses & either a dessert or coffee. often come with a small beer or wine or soft drink. The deal usually runs Tues-Fri 12-4pm and varies from €12-€16 per person. If you have a lite breakfast (fruit & yogurt) then menu del dia around 2pm. You only need a snack in the evening.

There are social media folks who work as brokers between brands and RU-vid channels depending on viewers and reach. The going rate for a short placement is actually quite high. Most are doing $2500 to $5000 euros per placement. There is BIG money in it if you hit the right people and the right demographic.
