I stayed in Palermo’s old town 10 years ago for a month and the prices were all good. I’ve never been to the North. I’ve lived in every type of place over the years and most drawn to low or reasonably priced areas with a lot of culture and history which is what I enjoyed in Palermo. I’m planning to return soon.
I've heard there are some relatively good deals on property in Piedmont, too, at least compared to other areas in the north. I'm not a fan of cold or snow though.
I was in Puglia last week looking around for possibly living there. It’s not a good fit for me. But it’s beautiful. Spent three days in mountains of Campania. Went to village my family dates back to 1600. Beautiful area. For me great place to maybe spend time in summer. I’m in Calabria now. In Scalea. Been researching for years. Looks interesting. Will see how week goes. Oh I had the most amazing food in Lecce and in a tiny town, Volturara Irpina and Gesualdo., Campania. Must must try restaurant, Petro in Volturara Irpina. You will be impressed. I have lived in NY, travelled a lot…this restaurant surprised me. Shocked me. Prices are amazingly low. The quality high! Cooking skills amazing! The mountains in Campania and Calabria are breathtaking. H
Great info, thanks. I've been following Chris's channel based there for a couple years now so I'm excited to finally visit Scalea and other areas of Italy next year. I prefer a warm, slow paced and affordable area, even if it's not as modern.
@@DashingPartyCrasher I am moving there in March. It’s wonderful. Has everything one needs…four supermarkets, a “mall” which is very nice, many excellent restaurants, beautiful beach and mountains, drs, veterinarian….

The North part of Italy is more suited for people looking for Work and Faster paced life and the South is the oppisite, but how is the Quality of Health Care? is it the Same or is there a Difference?
As a non citizen of Italy buying property, is it better, tax wise, to buy one expensive property or 2 or more cheaper properties? If used as an air BNB/vacation home
