Jerusalem, Israel is a popular tourist destination but what about for living there? Josh and Kalie from ExpatsEverywhere break down moving to, living in, and working in Jerusalem. They discuss the different visas, the religious breakdown, sights to see there, main industries, cost of living, and more. Below you'll find a link to the Israeli Tax authorities pdf, which will give you information on what your taxes might be like if you become an Israeli resident.
Be sure to watch the rest of the videos in this Review/Preview series where Josh and Kalie are going through the alphabet and highlighting a city that you vote on from the community tab page. Don't forget to vote! Here's the playlist: • Moving, Living, Workin...

I was in Jerusalem summer 2016, I wondered what kind of work opportunities there are for expats. As a Christian it made me want to just live there and soak up all the religious culture and history!
@ExpatsEverywhere
@ExpatsEverywhere 4 года назад
No doubt! It seems the path of least resistance would be through big multi-national companies, international schools, and as a student (to live, not work) or in a religious context. There are also entrepreneurial opportunities but those become more involved.

Just remember. 2% of the population is Christian, nearly 70% is Jewish, and the population heavily frowns on proselytizing.

I was so pleasantly surprised to hear about the separate quarters for different religions in Jerusalem! It makes perfect sense because people are naturally nasty to each other when they don't have their own places to retreat back home to. It sounds harsh, but it's a reality of human behavior. We can interact and love one another, but at the end of the day, we really do just want to be around those we have common values and traditions with. I think the only place I would ever move to would be Israel. Maybe I'll see you in the Christian quarter!

Cool info! Thanks for the video. I was surprised to learn recently that there’s many instances of Orthodox Jews spitting on Nuns. Even saw a few videos of it. I never knew that they hated Jesus so much and that they believe him to be boiling in excrement for eternity. It’s in the Talmud

I wanted to know if insurance companies cover bomb damage . I know that some agencies only cover fire and theft . Also will hospitals in either Haifa or Jerusalem treat serious injuries - my friend in Galilee was seriously injured by a rocket-attack and her healthcare only covered minor injuries

allerhand1234 Thanks for the input. Jerusalem was subscriber voted on a series we’re doing for our bi-weekly show called Review/Preview. We have been going by the alphabet as viewers choose what “Great Expat City” they want us to highlight next. Jerusalem won the vote for the letter “J”. We’re on the letter “R” and Riga is the winner with the video coming out on Thursday and the new poll will open for “S”.

Can I rent a long term apartment for under $900 usd a month?
@DA-jw4lx
@DA-jw4lx 3 года назад
No, but you can rent a room for a little more than that, just make sure you rent from either a Jew or a Christian. And don't get offended when a Jew tells you that you can't eat from their dishes or even put your dirty dishes in their side of the sinks, that's just how it is. I spent close to 3 months there in Israel in Haifa, Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. I absolutely fell IN LOVE with Israel. My mom and I want to live there so bad, we are not Jewish (not that we know of anyway) but we have a strong desire to live there. And btw, they DO NOT welcome Christianity there, they made that very very clear to me while I was there. But at the same time, I did meet Messianic Jews in Jerusalem that welcomed me, they were awesome. Israel is nothing like the media portrays it here, I never felt so safe anywhere like I did there. To me, that is the best place on earth and I can't wait to go back!
