Don’t move to laurel. It’s a bad place to live. Tons of crime, overpriced homes, taxes,bad schooling. I honestly can’t think of one positive

At 4:30, is that Kimberly Garden's looking towards the train tracks to the left and Milestone Manor to the right behind the trees? Granted, it has been 40+ years since I have lived in Milestone Manor.

Laurel has a small town feel but so close to DC and Baltimore. I wish the Stone Lake Community wasn't so expensive but the size of the homes is nice.

I’m planning on moving to Laurel from South Carolina next year. From what I’ve seen on Zillow, houses are worth the price...this video has me hype about the move

recently moved from laurel to houston, crazy to see how it’s changed especially in the real estate sense grew up there it’s not a bad area just displaced people from rising prices in Baltimore and DC looking for a decent place clashing with government workers and planned communities being built for a specific person that doesn’t reflect laurels everyday person

Thanks for all these info. I’m in New York plan to move to Maryland maybe next year. So want to know in which state or cities we find best schools ? And also good to raise kids , have family and also have government contract etc.. ? Hope to receive an answer from you.
@livinginmaryland7837

Hi Frejus. Best of luck to you and your family on your move to Maryland! Howard County is known for it's good schools and they are very well funded. I would definitely check that out. Areas such as Ellicott City, most of Columbia, etc.. There are also good schools in some of Anne Arundel County, such as Gambrills and Crofton, and you might also want to consider parts of Montgomery County. Do you know where your job will be located and how far you will be willing to commute? You can reach out to me anytime if you have any questions and I can send you more info :) 410.428.5216

Yes, it is very crazy right now. It's not uncommon to see anywhere from 5-15 offers on a home. Pretty wild!

I am looking to buy at Patuxent Greens in Laurel, MD New townhome build. Any immediate thoughts, if.you are familiar with the area?
@livinginmaryland7837
@livinginmaryland7837 3 года назад
@@sincere248 New construction is a great option right now, because it's more of a first come first serve situation vs buying resale where you are up against several other buyers almost every time. For new construction, every builder uses drafts their own contract, so you definitely want to make sure you are going through that thoroughly. Builders never split transfer tax (like resale does), so your closing costs will be significantly higher. Transfer taxes in MD are usually 2.5% on every real estate transaction, and in resale it's split equally between buyer and seller, but with new construction, the builder makes you pay it all. Most builders will give some closing cost assistance, like $5000-$10,000 but you must use their preferred lender. If you'd like more details on what to expect when purchasing a new construction home, let me know and I'd be more than happy to give you more info :)

Which area can I find a nice detached home for about $175,000 but in a very good area? Is that possible in Arrundel Mills County? I'm from New Orleans and we don't have townhomes like those for sale. They are for rent down here.
@livinginmaryland7837
@livinginmaryland7837 3 года назад
Arundel Mills is a area within Anne Arundel County, and unfortunately you won't find any detached homes near Arundel Mills for $175,000. Howard county isn't too far and has some very good schools and area, but only some condos are under 250k. Townhomes in good area go for at least in the 300s and up. Let me know if you have any other questions :)
@BmorePatriot

If you’re talking about Anne Arundel County, and outside of Laurel. You can try Russett or the new Stonefield neighborhood by the race track.

Hey there! I am an Asian and I've got a career opportunity in Laurel. However, I happened to know it has 35% crime rate and that's something that's freaked me out. Is it true?

Laurel is very big so I guess my first question would be which part of Laurel.. Most of Laurel, I always feel very comfortable in, but thats just me. I would focus on Howard County and Anne Arundel County parts of Laurel. Laurel is in 3 different counties

@@livinginmaryland7837 thanks for the quick response mate. I do not know how this works but from what I see, the closest is Howard County out of the three. I see a lot of bad stuff happen in the US all the time and that's what's bothering me.

@@livinginmaryland7837 Yeah like Russett? That’s a nice neighborhood. The old Maryland City is cool too. And no, they’re technically not in Laurel. Laurel is officially only in Prince George’s County and the areas in Howard County and Anne Arundel County just outside the town are unincorporated communities but strangely have a Laurel address.
