Remember that when baking you can always substitute! For pancakes I would use applesauce, about a quarter cup for every egg needed! And if you get the small snack cups they are the perfect size without having to store a big jar that you don't use all the time! 😊 Oh yeah, you can also use a small banana instead of an egg as well! 😉

I live in a four bedroom home with my niece but because of health issues I have been limiting myself to my master bedroom area a lot lately. We moved a T.V. and my computer into the bedroom for me. So in some ways it feels like living in a smaller confined space like a camper or car. I have found it quite comfortable so I understand better where you are coming from. I'm a retired high school teacher and I love to travel vicariously through the youtube channels I watch like yours. I love your friendly personality and your happy personality. Keep filming.

That is something that I would never do because of all of the alligators so I was a little on edge watching you go through the water and also get out on the shore. But secondly about the Publix water that's not spring water I hope you know that. Plus they had fluoride. You want a good spring water? Watching this video gave me CHILLS 😮. ALLIGATORS ARE IN ALL FLORIDA WATERWAYS according to the State Of Florida website. Hugging the shoreline near trees and bushes is NOT SAFE in many areas of Florida since Alligators rest nearby and if surprised will rush your kayak. I kayak and also Winter in Florida but I DO FAR LESS shoreline activities here than in other places in the country. Locals here will assure YOU that "YOU'LL BE FINE .". HOWEVER, that's Tourism Talk since Florida COUNTS HEAVILY ON TOURISM and SNOWBIRDS. Be aware that ALLIGATORS MATE DURING THESE MONTHS so they are very ACTIVE AND PROTECTIVE of THEIR SPACE. On a happier note 😂, your Pancake Cookies looked 😋 great 👍. I had a Sugar Rush earlier today and broke open a can of Hershey Chocolate Frosting 😂. I know, so 😋 and it'sa convenient fix for a few quick spoonfuls of pure PLATINUM chocolate goodness. It also keeps well in the can FOREVER 😊.
I learned how to make ghee last year from salt free (grass fed, but that’s expensive!) butter. You just put a block in the oven in a glass pan at 250F for an hour and all of the milk solids will fall to the bottom. Then you scoop off the clarified butter from the top. As long as you don’t get any milk solids in your jar then it’s shelf stable and doesn’t need to be refrigerated ❤
If you do it on the stovetop and allow the milk solids on the bottom to brown, the ghee develops 10x the depth of flavor and a gorgeous caramel color! Mmmmm!

Also, if you get some flax seed meal, 1 T with 3 T water equals 1 egg. We’re diabetic, and I do it all the time to bake because flax is good for blood sugar.🥚

I have watched several of your videos and as a Truck Driver whom has lived in AZ,FL,GA plus seeing many states. You need to be more cautious being by yourself. I am a lady Trucker i can tell you the truth you are pressing your luck ,gators kill many people an animals in Florida i would never be by myself in water. New York i was yelling at you at my phone . Now a days its sad but true by yourself you have no defense in or out of your Car. Don't take life for granted. Be extra careful and aware

I would fall into the water in a kayak with my bad balance & those mangroves have the creepiest ugliest huge spiders. I'd be terrified of it all.... The gators & insects. Your fearless!!
Hey Rowan, yes there are alligators and crocodiles 🐊 in that water, and Sharks 🦈 too! They are in basically all Florida waters. I only kayaked in the Ichetucknee Springs River but there are gators there also. I have a video on how to make your own Ghee. You can use applesauce to bake with as a replacement I think for oil. I'm not sure about an egg replacement but you can buy powdered eggs to keep on hand. ❤
Also watching you make your little tiny chocolate chip cookies without the proper ingredients I was curious to see how it would come out. But one thing you really need Rowan is a spatula. Would make things a lot easier.

OMG I know exactly where you overnighted cuz I had that same view when I stayed there almost every night for a few weeks before I left Florida (when I moved out of my apartment and into the van)! It’s so weird to see something that looks familiar and your like I know exactly where she is! Hi Rowan. In my 59 years as a Florida native I've never seen a croc but tons of gators. They are mostly in fresh water lakes and rivers, etc. Though they will definitely swim in brackish water (mixed fresh and salt). If you are approached by a gator while kayaking give it a firm rap on the snout or head with one end of your paddle. It will disperse. Also If you have fish, bait or strong smelling food on board it's possible to get a "visit". Keep your food in a small cooler. Enjoying your channel. Welcome to Florida. Goodmorning , Rowan . Im sitting here with a hot cup of tea with my cat Bella . She is a Bengal and she stays very close to me . Yes , Im a cat person . Its cold here and will be even colder tomorrow morning , possibly freezing . I have two outside cats and I'll be working with them today getting their kitty boxes ready for tonight. I have some old canteens I fill with hot water and place under their bedding to keep them warm all night . It does an excellent job . Home cooking is best and lastnight I made a pizza from scratch with plenty of onion on it . Well , take care and stay warm . 😊

This reminds me of my weekend trip to Chincoteague island in VA. I went Kyacking too and loved it. Saw wild horses. You’re also very brave. I couldn’t go kyacking alone let alone in clouds or thoughts of alligators in water. 😮
When your out of eggs substitute unsweetened applesauce, 1/4 cp = 1 egg banana, medium mashed banana= 1 lrg egg Chick peas. 3 tbsp mashed = 1 egg I also discovered if your out of milk you can replace with more water and a little butter
You can clarify butter by taking out the milk fats. It’s the sudsy stuff that rises to the top when you heat it. Once you remove that your butter will not burn. It has a much higher smoke point.

We definitely have seen gators on the beaches of southeast Texas near Galveston. They’ve become acclimated to the muddy Gulf Coast waters. So please be safe, I was for sure thinking you might find a gator in your kayak expedition. Just can’t get over what a brave gal you are and how I wanna be like Rowan. 😎
Flirida around Sy Petersburg dies not have alligators along the Gulf waters, unlike the hotter areas of Sarasota, Naples, Fort Myers. Howver, ANY body of water in the state ... canals, lakes, ponds, golf courses can have them. During mating season they travel from pond to lake, and lake to lake, etc.

As an avid paddler I was thinking about crocodiles at the very same time as you were Rowan. Your pancake cookies looked yummy.....you have such a homey little setup ...and spread your sunshine to others. Does it ever get too cold for your butane stove to work? It does here in Canada so I need to warm it up first inside my coat or sleeping bag. Has been in the -20s here in Ontario lately. Hey girl Ghee takes the dairy out of it. :-) so it makes it shelf stable. I've been a fulltime vanlifer over 4 yrs. and I'm a vegetarian- so you learn over time whats easy to cook/travel with..... sending love and light from my rig to yours :-) PS, I also make pancakes when I want something sweet on the road.... I add walnuts for protein so I feel better about it lol..... I think I know the area you might be in, (I'm from FL) You really should ck out the Salvador Dali Museum

Just in case you are interested- you can buy a powdered egg substitute for use in replacing bread, cakes, cookies etc. made by Bob's Red Mill that all you have to do is mix a bit with a little water- I have some on hand just in case I ever run out of eggs (Should be in most grocery stores) Enjoying your vlog!
This has been a very cloudy winter here in Florida. Glad u got some nice weather for ur kayaking. If u see a Wawa convenience store, try their coffee. U can get fresh food inside. And free air for ur tires!

Hey Rowan, it’s possible that you could find eggs where you saw those Muscovy ducks. My girls have been leaving eggs in different places. Found one nest in the overgrown brush around my property this week and was fortunate that they were all good all 17 of them. If ya find some and want to make sure they are not rotten, you can test by putting the entire egg in water. If they float they are no good, if they sink they are good, if they tilt or stand on end they are not as fresh. As far as checking to see if fertilized you can use a flashlight. Ya might google that process. They are super good for you and best for baked goods. Oh and they do not have to be refrigerated just saying.
