Hi! I was hoping to be able to respond to all the comments as they came in but they are so many! Thank you for all the kind words and welcome to the new subscribers! 🤗 I will be going live again within the week and I hope to be able to answer some of the questions then, if I can’t respond before then. I hope everyone is having a wonderful day and thank you again for all the support! You guys rock! 💖
I’m an older grandmother with some sadness and stress in my life recently so taking my mind off things by watching RU-vid. I’ve seen several videos of people living in vans etc. but you are the most likable person! The first video I saw was when you were waiting out the storm in FL. I can’t believe you are in a car and the way you have utilized the space.
@@mrace9836Something about van lifer’s and nomad’s seems to bring me comfort I don’t know why, I think it’s a psychological thing knowing it’s not realistic to me because I have a structure already and I don’t have the guts to actually travel and live in a vehicle so it makes me happy seeing other folks live the life, it’s like I’m living through them by watching their vlogs lol !
@Jojo01171 same here house family 6 kids youngest only 7 I'm very grateful for my life and wouldn't trade my kids for the world but when they're all grown up and from under my roof I'm going to hit the road and fully live life I'm tired of the same ole routine working hard just to pay for things I work to much to get to enjoy when I'm the happiest when I'm on the road for the 15 hour drive to Florida with my kids every year. Just the freedom to live without time constraints. Is what I consider wealth. So until it my turn, I watch the videos and live through all of the nomads I follow and tag along with them on their journey while preparing for mine!!!
Rowan, I LOVE your setup and I really love the stealth mode. I was worried about others seeing inside, but you have it fixed perfectly. I love that you have live plants growing. That is VERY awesome!!! The only thing I noticed that you REALLY REALLY NEED is a fire extinguisher. Using an open flame amongst so much very flammable materials, really concerns me. PLEASE buy a nice fire extinguisher. I'll pay for it. I support you a little each month at your patreon, but I'll pay for you a fire extinguisher separately. Just, PLEASE get one, my friend.
I marvel at your courage living in your car. It can sometimes be dangerous though. I saw a tip from another van living channel that to have more security for your doors, use the seatbelts to hook on the inside door handles & snap on the seatbelts, both on passenger & driver seats. This is an extra security so they cannot open your doors. I saw a vlogger living in a van where a man tried to open her van door & luckily, she was able to lock the doors on time. Always make sure your doors are locked & be discreet in going in & out of your car so they don’t figure out that you’re alone.
In like that you keep you front seats accessible for safety. If anyone ever harasses you, you can slide into your driver’s seat and make a getaway quickly! Be safe!❤
Hi Rowan. I just happened to find you not long ago. I'm an older female who is living vicariously thru you. I find your videos so enjoyable. You are such a sweet young lady with a wonderful sense of humor. It so relaxing watching your videos. You have such a peaceful personality. You also seem to be very grateful & appreciative for everything. We need more people like you.
New subscriber here! When I was 17, I dreamed of vanlife to escape a toxic environment. When I was 20, I moved out of my toxic household and finally rented my own unit 9 hours away which allowed me freedom and time for recovery. Now, a few years later, I'm noticing the decline of my happiness. Why? Renting is so expensive! I often dream of vanlife again and all the possibilities I could've had, and COULD have, but I don't pull enough money each month to afford a van. So, now I just have one final plan; should I become so financially burdened, or should my happiness fully drain, I plan to hop in my cute car, convert it into a cheap safe space, and get a part time remote job and travel.
You are doing a remarkable job at living in a GREAT car. I'm so happy for you AND proud of your accomplishments. Dash away, young lady. You've got this ! 👍
This brings back memories. I have a suggestion for you and this helped me a lot. Look for 12 volt appliances. If you want a nice cup of coffee and don't want to heat up your space, it will work wonders. I had a 12 volt slow cooker. I would put soup in it, and when I arrived to my next spot I would be able to have a nice bow of soup and a sandwich. Also keep this in mind. stainless steel thermos. Mine keep water cold with ice for over 18 hours, and hot for like 6.
I’m so impressed how you’ve found a use for every little space. Utilizing everything that’s already there without building very little. Great job, Stay Safe❣️
There's a bar or even a strong rope that you use to tie around one car door handle to the other so that you are safer at night from someone opening the door. Lovely. 🥰
Your home in your Honda Pilot is amazing. Its organized, clean, you're managing to care for your health also, which is wonderful to see, and your home is set up with coziness and little pleasures. I think you should win an award for the world's most smallest, and practical tiny kitchen. Your thoughts of how to incorporate everything you need into your pockets and door holders of your vehicle shows perfect ingenuity, capableness and creativity. I think its just perfect. Congratulations. It's a really well done job. It should be consistently a place of privacy, peace and priviledge. I've watched some other channels in the past where there was some nights of fear as strangers tried to break in while they were sleeping in their vehicle. I'm new to your channel and I'm subscribed and getting notifications. In remembering other's channels who are similar to yours, I'm wondering if you have stories as they've had concerning the safety factor. I think that would be - personally- my very huge fear with living like this. Maybe since I'm new to your channel, ( I subscribed yesterday), maybe I've missed you reporting on stuff like that. It's just the first question that comes to my mind when I see people living in their cars. I wish you continued success in 2024 and look forward to watching your channel. 🙂
Hi! Welcome to the channel! 🤗 Thank you so much for all the kind words of support! I do love my tiny kitchen and find it very functional! Fortunately I don’t have scary stories about attempted break ins. That does cross my mind though, and I calm the worry by tuning into my intuition, having some key items within reach, and taking safety precautions such as locking the doors and being aware of my surroundings.
@@justrowan I'm very glad to hear from you that you've had no fearful nights. What a blessing to put at the top of the list ❣️ 🙌 It's great to hear from you. Thank you! 🙂
Not many people who have a #tinyhomeonwheels use glass in their builds. We like that you do. Especially when you go to a bulk grocery. They’ll subtract the weight of the jar from the dry/wet items you purchase. Leaving less of a carbon footprint is a good thing. Blessings and thank you for the tour!🌱
I try not to use plastic if I have a choice. Sometime I would like to challenge myself to do as close to zero waste week as I can and see how that goes. I agree about the footprint we leave! It’s one reason I love living in my car! Blessings to you as well! 😊
I think it is dangerous to use so much glass in a moving vehicle! Safety first! Those jars and glass items will turn into flying shards of death in an accident! Show some sense!
@@crazyredhead3 yes, some bulk stores will weigh whatever you bring in to fill up. Then this weight is written on said item and subtracted from the total weight at check out. Paper, plastic, glass, pottery etc. All anyone would have to do is ask. 🌱
I just found you on you tube. you are such an inventive be autiful young lady. My name is Anne and I am 74 years old and cannot drive anymore so finding your video today was such a blessing for me. You did such a wonderful job on your moving home you are really an inspiration. Wishing you safety and good blessings always.
Wow. After watching so many van/car home tours yours blows me away. Every single square inch has been utilized, all while making it beautiful, cozy & functional. I’m biased because I share a similar decor/organizational style. It feels like home to me. Also vitamins/minerals/supplements are SO important! Anyways, well done! I just bought a van at an amazing price so I’m so incredibly excited to start my own journey ♥️
I love how you got decor that makes you feel really homey and outdoors at the same time! Edit-I recently encountered the unsubscribe thing for the first time. I’ve been a long time subscriber of the channel, and I was randomly unsubscribed. Totally worth reminding people in my opinion, because I was shocked!
Thank you so much for this tour it is so helpful! After losing my husband a few years ago I have decided to look into some of this for me and my 3 dogs to travel a bit. ( teacup chihuahuas) My husband and I used to do a lot of tent camping together, but at 60 I feel that could be more dangerous alone. I do have a main base here but often wondered if I could do something like this to see nature more. You give me inspiration .... I think I can do this! I have the same rose quartz massager... They are wonderful! I love your co-pilot you guys make a great team❤❤❤ I love how organized your setup is...so cozy!
Really cool set-up. Maybe a video about your costs/how you make money etc. Not all the details, but just a “day in the life” kind of thing. What’s your favorite thing about this step up? What would you change if you could?
Everything is so beautiful :) I have a beautiful bed set up in my suv so I can take me afternoon nap anywhere around town and pretend I’m SUV living lol . Now for a kitchen !
That is so beautiful! I was attracted by the decor before I realized that it is all in your car!!! You are so artistic and brilliant, with so many "little" details!!!😅 Yes I subscribed to you. Thanks for showing us your gorgeous camper car! And it's phenomenal how you can darken the windows and use the curtain for total privacy. I used to have a camper van but I got rid of it because the upkeep wasn't worth it since I'm not the camping type! The thing I loved the best was the flush toilet! So I Googled car toilet and I saw that there are lots. So I bought a car with dark windows in the back and bought the little car toilet and I keep it behind the passenger's seat!😊
My wife and I started camping with our families when we were about 5 years old. In 1979 we started dating and we learned something BIG that November in the cold of Canada. We were at my parents old school bus on the lake and I noticed that my parents had put up a 12 x 12 canvas kitchen tent on a deck overlooking the lake. Angela and I found a pick nick table inside with a 2 burner propane stove and 2 pond tank attached. We got a BIG pot and heated the water for a hot bath and as it heated the air went from freezing to a perfect 80 degrees F. We had 2 5 gallon home depo pails and 1/2 filled with cold lake water. It was the nicest bag in my life as we poured hot water over us. This Canvas 12 x 12 would make a place for a small titanium wood stove, a place to sit and read and cook food or avoid the bugs. TRY IT !!
Wow ur solar panel is so flush with ur roof u can’t even see it that’s awesome I am worried about theft if I put one on and also. I don’t wanna be spotted as a car camper for safety reasons I love that u can’t even tell it’s up there
Thanks for the tour! Great set-up! VERY organized, efficient & beautifully decorated! SO lovely, cheery & cozy! So happy for you that you have created a great life for yourself! Thanks for sharing it with us! ❤
I love the stealth mode -I think that’s most of the answer to everything! To stay in your car you definitely need those window covers however I would still feel like someone would be able to tell someone is in the car! So glad no one bothers you in there at night or day! Take care Thanks for your videos🫶👍🚙
Recently found your channel and I’m totally enthralled! You have a very engaging personality. Even though I’m probably old enough to be your mother, I feel like I’ve made a new friend! Would love to know more of your story. What brought you to this point in your life? Why did you decide to live in your car? Was it a conscious choice or the result of life circumstances? Your car and setup is inspiring. Makes me realize how much excess one can have in their life. Hope you continue to document and share your journey. Sending love and prayers for your health and safety. ❤
Rowan , as a mechanic , wanting to know how you take care of the vehicle maintenance such as oil changes , filters , fluids , tire pressure etc . ? Do you inspect the tires for wear ? And the spare ? Just wondering as this is your home you depend on . Thanks and stay safe out there . 😊
I get routine oil changes and make sure they check the fluids and tire pressure. I do have a spare, wait.. I think I do. I’m going to check that actually, so thank you. The tread on the tires on the car is great! This summer I took the car to a Honda dealer and did the recommended maintenance, including a timing belt (!!!), which was not inexpensive, although I am grateful I had the money to be able to pay for it. Stay safe as well! 😊
Also, as a mechanic do you have any possible recommendations to look out for? I’m hoping to have this car for awhile, as I invested the money for the repairs and also it will be paid off in six months.
Again , hi Rowan . Sorry , I got busy . Well , the first thing I recommend is find someone that will teach you to take care under the hood . Your car being older , I suggest you look under the hood every two to three days . Also , whenever your outside the vehicle , look underneath for any drips of any kind , oil , water or antifreeze , gasoline , transmission fluid . This will give you a heads up that there might be a problem and you can get that checked out to avoid a breakdown . Always carry an extra quart of oil in your engines viscosity . Extra water , small bottle of brake fluid , and jumper cables or a palm size instant start if you can afford a good one . I suggest that last one so you don't have to ask strangers for help and you can do this yourself . Also a small portable air compressor , 12 volt , in case of a flat . This will help you limp in to a service station without asking help from strangers . Never pull out a nail or screw in a tire . It's wiser to leave it in the tire until it's fixed . This stops the air from leaking out so fast . Keep those battery cable ends clean . This should be done by a professional . Keep a pair of new windshield wipers on board just in case . Keep that fuel tank topped off . Have the freon checked on your air condition . Here in Florida it's a must . Our summers can be super hot . Hope I have helped you . 😊
@@daynadiggle8169 Hi state of Victoria in Australia here. I use Nitrogen in my tyres, would you recommend Nitrogen for Rowan? Pros are longer lasting for Trye pressure and if a puncture longer driving in case of emergency? Kindest thoughts to you and your family and Furbabies from Australia. This is for Rowan also. Ty
I love your set up. I’m leaving to head south in 2 weeks. I wish I had something like this. I’ll be traveling with a 65 lb dog so room is essential for the two of us. You inspire me more than you know. Keep making videos. Hope this new year brings you many blessings.
I love your choice of objects in wood , glass, metal. There are always my first choices. I eat in a fine wood bowl made near where I live, handmade by Justenbois. I just found your Chanel and saw you moved in a larger van. Have fun you make us happy!
Good morning Rowan! It was nice to have coffee with you as I watched your video. That was a very comprehensive tour and I'm impressed with how organized you are... important to living in a small space. I love your little wooden drawers especially the decorated ones and your craft/sewing basket. I enjoy crafting and watercolour painting so much. Maybe in a future live you'll include another craft. I loved your Christmas ones. 💕
Good morning Marianne! I’m glad you enjoyed the tour! I will definitely be doing some more craft videos at some point- it’s a part of me so it will continue to be an integral part of the channel! 😊
I love watching all your different videos. Im just boring. Lol i stay in my cabin and craft, cook, can, etc. But just had dental surgery so i cant talk on videos yet so i just add music.
Nice setup! Very creative in using what you have as far as built in storage and created storage😊🎉 all your window covers are really cute especially your divider curtain, love the roses 🌹 😊
I've been watching these videos for years and just found you on here. You are my favorite by far...so hygge, positive, informative and engaging. You rock, girl!
I loved❤ how you began the video with so much elegance preparing your coffee in a vintage cup and an awesome coffee/tea pot. This was the first video of yours that I have come across. Your setting is lovely. May the L-rd bless your going out and bless your coming in. Enjoy your travels.
Just binge watched your videos last week after I found you and really love your daily life vlogs. I really like the dash and chats too! Would love to see more of these ❤
FASCINATING!! I just subscribed a few days ago, and I must say that your organizational capabilities are remarkable. I REALLY appreciate how stealth you can be when you have the curtains up--no light leaks!! 👏😊
Thanks for the tour, Rowan . I've been watching since you were at 700 something subscribers and it's been exciting to see the subscribers jump up to close to 10k 😊 I was happy when you reached 1000k and were monetized but this is even better congrats 👏
Good to know that your Honda Pilot is a better choice than a van from your experience. I'm looking at trying van life and the vehicle is the biggest first consideration. Your place is very sweet and homey. Thank you.
Thank you! The van was very comfortable but this car gets better mileage and that’s important for me right now. And it’s a bit more stealth than a van, I think.
Nice to see the tour again. Your home is so comfy looking and functional, so it's a great setup in m books. Really like all your vids and chats. I car camp just to get out in nature and the quiet. Your tour has given me a few new ideas regarding setup. My little car is a hatchback so I attach a small tent to my car for a bit of extra space. Have a great week...Hugs, MO
I have a similar car and, since my husband recently lost his job, I'm looking at this video in a whole new light. I know it wouldn't be feasible to have your setup with two people, but it's nice to know we have options. It gives me ideas and, better yet, hope. My fear is living on the streets. I have nightmares about it. Thank you for showing that I don't have to worry about that so much :)
I like your set up, pretty neat. I want to travel to see friends now that I’m finally retired and am dreaming about something like this. Also, I love your giggle, it is so endearing! Kind of reminds me of my own silly laugh. Safe travels Rowan!
So glad I found your channel! Your home is so nice and you have things organized so well. I just started car camping on the days I volunteer in the National Park. I’ve only camped there, but you inspire me to do my first road trip! You’re amazing and such a great example that women can do this and overcome anything! Can’t wait to see upcoming videos. I’ve been binge watching to catch up! Safe travels. 💕
Great tour. So exciting for you that your channel is growing. I’ve been here for a while now and it’s been fun to see your joy as you adventure, travel, & just live your best life! Congrats on the growth.
Beautiful setup as usual... i learn so much from you so thankyou. Nearly 10 thousand subscribers... congratulations 😊 I have watched your channel grow and boy is it growing quickly now and you deserve it. Being one of the originals when you were only at about 300 subs watching you blossom on here and create a beautiful community has been a blessing. Sorry I missed your last live... it was at 4am my time. Still yet to watch it... thats for tomorrow. See you on the next one 😊🍓💖
Hi Sage! Thank you! And thank you so much for the early support of my channel and for sticking around to celebrate the growth! I hope you enjoy the replay of the live, and hope to catch you on the next one! 😊💖
I love how thoughtful everything is! Even your decor items fit perfectly. Have been wanting to try camping in my car and you have given me some great ideas. So glad I found your channel. Safe travels! 😊
