Showing people that building a home in Russia takes a lot of work, but it's totally possible. TO build one must first destroy! Enjoy the video Previous Video: • Moving To Russia And B... Wedding Gifts: boosty.to/wild...
Dearest brother, I am the retired American soldier who went to Yekaterinburg. I am engaged now and I am moving back to Russia. What a wonderful trip. Now begins the arduous task of getting my paperwork together to marry the gal. I absolutely love your channel and by the grace of God I will be able to meet my American Marine Siberian brother one day. I watched you while I was over there. I never miss an episode. All the best to you and your sweetheart.
@@bryanx590 are you kidding me many Americans use this word 😂 who are you why do you care so much about how people choose to communicate you are not the gate keeper of an entire country
There are a lot of videos on the Internet where the British, French, Americans, Germans, Australians who moved to Russia build their houses in villages and towns. The trend of moving in Russia is gaining momentum.

Watching the two of you makes me give glory to God. How excited Adam must have been to see Eve by his side. You are a wonderful couple. May God continue to lead and guide you as you pursue what He has put on your heart. I’m sure glad you didn’t get hurt during the demolition.
Nice that waste wood can warm up a poor man during winter. Bricks and roof panels are useful for yourselves. I await the planned renovation of the storage house. Good night from Indonesia. God bless you both , send my greetings for Xenia's dad at home. ❤🙏🌷
@@bryanx590 meanwhile we’re sending billions to Ukraine . What’s funny to me is how much our country complains about our low recruitment rates, when it’s so obvious why most people don’t want to join the military anymore.
That’s crazy you were born in USA you made your life there and spend time in Mexico and now you making your life in Russia that’s awesome. saludos amigo sin miedo al éxito 👍🏼💪🏼
I think the roof covering is what we call Eternit board in Slovakia. It was invented by an Austrian born in the southern part of the Czech Republic. It was made of 90% cement and 10% asbestos fibers. It was fireproof and resistant to Frost, water and wind. Asbestos is a dangerous material if its fibers are inhaled directly into the lungs. Therefore, it was banned in many countries. ... But in Slovakia, the old roofing material is still used on the roofs of buildings and on fences or barns, chicken coops or compost fences. We used 12 such boards at home for composting. The main thing is not to break this material into small pieces and not to cut with a saw. Only with a respirator on the face and glasses on the eyes. Residual material and fibers should be vacuumed with an industrial vacuum cleaner and packed in a bag. Then store in a landfill of hazardous waste. In Slovakia, a different procedure is subject to large fines in thousands of euros.
If this material is damaged but has not disintegrated, it is advisable to use glue or some form of paint for preservation. Often a thick layer of latex or a coating of asphalt and a rubber film on top are used. This material can be used for decades. ,..........
Those roof tiles you asked about are made of concrete fiber and possibly a tad of asbestos, depending on how old they are. I have no idea what their name would be in English, something like asbocement tiles. You’re safe to reuse them but if you’re going to cut them to fit, use a respirator and gloves.
@@Suvis808 Yep sorry, fiber cement. I struggle with technical terms in English, like construction materials that aren’t that popular in English speaking countries (like aircrete or these roofing tiles).

The broken block can be used for the foundation of the driveway or any area that vehicles passover or is parked on. The sharp and jagged edges will keep it from moving around below a gravel or concrete surface.
Looks like you guy's had a smashing day ! Lot of hard work though, the thing to remember is what the end result will be, nothing worth while is easy. And you have worked hard. Don't reuse to much of the cider blocks, old concrete gets rotten and weak and start to fall appart into fine dust. And paint the old rusty tools, and they are like new and you wont have to wash of rust and small metal from your hands all the time :)
@@svensulzmann4282 The funny thing is that in Germany the word “Schiefer” is used to describe another expensive material. And therefore, the Germans were surprised when they learned that in Russia there is “Schiefer” on all roofs. And this is just an asbestos roof. By the way, in Russia and Ukraine they did not consider asbestos too harmful a material and continued to make roofs from asbestos throughout the 20th century, unlike other countries. 🤔🤔
it's perfect for a fence: looks good and serves for decades (compared to a wooden fence which will rot in 5-10 years if you do not paint it regularly) Truly an "install and forget" material, love it 👍
@@an0nycat, It is because in Russia we use different asbestos than in the West. CHRYSOTYLE- asbestos mined from a giant resource location Bazhenovskoye near Sverdlovsk. It'so huge thatcan be seen from space orbit. They provide for the whole country. In the West AMFIBOLIC-asbestos is the one that was used and then got banned as health-dangerous/hazardous, concerogenous material. They differ by chemical & physical structure. [Dan please Google or Yandex амфиболовый асбест vs хризотиловый асбест. I'm sure in Sludyanka you have the latter - you're close to Sverdlovsk region & who would use an imported material for roofing a cow shed? 😂 So you can recycle your shifer if you like. Just take reasonable means of precautions: wear respirator/mask when drilling/sawing shifer, do not inhail dust of it ☝️ & you'll be Ok ]
@@an0nycat Yeah it looks like asbestos unfortunately. In my country England we still used asbestos in to the early 2000's. I have it in my roof soffits, white asbestos which is the "least deadly".
Помню применение шифера из своего детства. Он очень здорово разлетается в разные стороны, если бросить его в костер. Главное наблюдать за этим на безопасном расстоянии)
New Wild West! Sounds nice! Let good harworking people come to this area and improve it. I have never been to Siberia. Tell us more about its climate and air and your impression of it...
Siberia covers a huge area with different temperatures depending on the region. Northeastward the climate is arctic, the temperature in winter can reach -50C. Where the guys are, in Western Siberia the climate is continental, winters are a bit milder (from -15C to -40C), summers are hot +30C-+35С. In principle, summers are hot in most of Siberia, except for the extreme north

Be very careful handling that roofing! It looks like asbestos, if it is undisturbed and undamaged it is safe, but the dust fibres if inhaled can make you die a slow painful death that usually takes 20 years for symptoms to start. Try to get some masks or respirators with FP3 when handling them.
Cool video. about this material you were thinking to reuse for the roof. We live in the east Europe and we had this as well and when it was made the material was used that was later proven to be highly contaminated with cancer products. tiny particles from these roofing sheets that can enter your lungs and blood stream through breathing or touching it. the material used was a side products on a big factory that was making construction products and lots of waste was left from it and it just happens so that all this scrap material was then used to make roof sheets like yours look.... please check it out and just throw it away carefully ..... in my country it was named Salonit.
Name of gray wavy roofing sheets is: Shifer (Шифер). Its old asbestos roofing, cheap and effective. You can walk on it but it will crack if you jump on it. Also it makes weak little explosions when its been in the fire for a while, its all over former USSR.
that roofing is called Salonite boards (or fibrolite boards or Super Six), its made from asbestos and concrete... you should be wearing breathing protection while handling it. my roof is made using it and i am planning to replace it, there is no company that is willing to do that for me because of the hazards, so i plan to buy hazard suit, sacrificial vacuum cleaner and do it my self. i am from Macedonia btw.
Great video Danny and Ksenia, hardcore folks for sure. Thanks for sharing your world with me/us….Were they steel capped crocs you were wearing on the demolition Danny?😊
Im enjoying this videos as a kid watching his favourite tv shows every noon, the forest behind made me open my mouth of impression, is just so beautiful that i even thought it was a wallpaper by looking at the clouds, blue sky and the shadows behind the trees in the mountains🤩 I still have to keep watching this video, but i need to tell that please dont thow to the trash those bricks🚨🚨🚨 They will look so pretty doing small walls of less than half a meter for decoration in the garden or just using them separately for building a nice stone path under that fantastic ground!!! Nice work👏👏💪
Also those bricks can be separated from each other using something that we in spain call "una piqueta" and a hammer (I dont know how to say it in english, and i dont even know if it is a real word or just a word my family used to describe that tool, but its also used for making statues and it looks by the side like a thin and long triangle and from above like a long rectangle, i hope i explained it correctly😅) if it smells bad then the rain will eventually make that smell disappear, but with a toothbrush or a brush and some water those bricks can be easily cleaned!!👍👍

Great video and hats off to you both living the dream. That corrugated roofing sheet looks like cement and if correct these sheets have asbestos as a fire resistant additive. Keep the great videos coming.
your wavy roofing plates could very well be the kind containing asbestos. watch out for it, as they could potentially be hazardous. greetings & best wishes
This roofing material is called "Шифер"; in English it seems to be Slate. This is a cement-based composite material. Slate is heavy but not as beautiful as ceramic tiles and has become less common these days. Nowadays, lightweight roofs are made more often. But it is not expensive and very durable, the roof of my house was done in 1949 and still does not need repairs at all, it has not changed at all over the past years. If necessary, you can fasten it with nails, punching them through the top of the wave, but you must avoid direct hammering on the surface of the slate.
Slates are small . Maybe 100 to 150mm by 200mm . So you need a couple of thousand to a few thousand for a roof depending on size of the house of course. That corrugated cement /asbestos board is more popular in Europe I think.
God Bless you two! You are working on your dreams-together! I frankly almost had a heart attack watching all of the near misses. I could see a hospital brace in your life! 😂 Your 10 future children will enjoy this video when they are old enough! ❤♥

Asbestos concrete roofing can cause cancer, especially if it is destroyed mechanically.🤕🤕🤕🤕🤕🤕🤕 The black thing is a bitumen roof waterproofing membrane. Masonry from animal stables is riddled with saltpeter. The saltpeter will bloom, emerge and cause problems. All these building materials are very poorly or not at all suitable for reuse. Enjoy country life but also think about a second entrance as a dirt trap with integrated washing and shower facilities. In this region, a thermal buffer in front of the regular entrance is very useful, if not necessary. The floor plan could bear a revision; it needs spaciousness and a certain flow of space. Such a likeable and beautiful woman should also get a beautiful and well-functioning house.
What an accomplishment you two. Very impressed. It's a lot of work preparing the land, preparing plans, having plans approved, building the house and making a home for you and children. Very impressed you two.
We call the material under the metal roofing, roof underlay. Its usually made of felt and other materials. What are those rock walls made of? It seems that they are not heavy stone by the way you can move them. When putting up the fence it is good to have a bit of a gap from the wood to the ground, otherwise the board will rot faster for lack of drainage.
Re using existing materials is allways a good idea. If not for the main house later you have also lots of ideas around the house, in the garden, in the yard . . . where need building materials. For example anice fireplace for barbeque or backing bread and pizza. All these things need material.
