Stockholm, Sweden won this vote from our community tab page that you voted on. Josh and Kalie from ExpatsEverywhere breakdown moving to, living in, and working in Stockholm. They ask their fellow RU-vidr, Viktor, who is from Sweden to help with some pronunciation. Thanks Viktor! To give some perspective. My 2 room apartment (60sqm) of medium quality in a city center (60sqm) cost me 399usd per month. I live in a small city about 4 hours from Stockholm. In my city you can get a coffee at a café for 2-3usd. I rarely go to restaurants, if I go out to eat I usually go to a Pizzeria, or a hamburger joint (local). Which will cost you about 12-15usd for a meal+drink. So prices differ vastly depending on where in Sweden you live, and where you choose to eat.

Still way cheaper than any big city in America, LA, NYC,Seattle..etc A studio apt is $2,200 USD.

when you do the 'cost of living' part in your reviews of each country, could you include the income tax? Because making 80K in one place means something totally different if you are taxed at 40 percent, or 28 percent. Thanks.
@ExpatsEverywhere
@ExpatsEverywhere 3 года назад
Ann Raybon great suggestion. The problem might be the various tax structures in each country. We might have a difficult time getting simple and accurate information.

Vasastan is not at all similar to rinkeby-Tensta, not a miljon years, vasastan is a part of inner sthlm, Rinkeby-Tensta is not, thats a suburb part that you should avoid

I beleve Tensta for some reason iust a little bit better but if you dont seen any crimes in Rinkeby youre blind., heres just an exemple ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-aoyXbd5-XXI.html Not that Rinkebu is the only suburb with problems, its the same thing in all the concrete areas outside city but it is one of the worse. But there are some hope and that is in the real world we live in crimes going down, no matter what the alt-right says, they minds is in a alternative reality that dont exist

Why do you say "housing options" and "houses in high demand" when you are talking about inner city flats and apartments? Is that normal US lingo?
@ExpatsEverywhere
@ExpatsEverywhere 3 года назад
We'll have to check with our British teammates to see if it's US lingo or not but you probably picked up on the fact that the root word "house" in this case means any building a person lives in.
@herrbonk3635
@herrbonk3635 3 года назад
@@ExpatsEverywhere Yes, I guess "housing" now means "getting a roof above ones head" or similar. But still kind of confusing to me, semantically. The phrase "houses in high demand" sounds like you want to buy the whole apartment building, or alternatively that you belive there are lots of small villas in the inner town/city of Stockholm.

Greetings from Lisbon! I didn’t realize you had left and you’ve been wandering around and are now in Stockholm! That’s awesome. I visited Stockholm a few years back on a very warm few days in the summer and it was gorgeous. I loved it and I thought about potentially moving there, but the winters sound really foreboding. And I have a whopper of a visa renewal story waiting 18 months still haven’t gotten it.

literally spend half the time describing districts. why
@ExpatsEverywhere

4 minutes of the 11:42 video was spent talking about the districts because people might want to know where to target to move there. It's literally a third of the video for that reason.
