Hello everyone! Welcome to my very first youtube video about life in the Faroe Islands. I have been wanting to start and staying consistent with RU-vid for many many years. Now, I finally started, even if I am the busiest I have ever been.
Being on maternity leave and having two children under two is quite hectic, but it can also get isolating and lonely. Since we moved to Vestmanna 1,5 years ago it has been a huge change - going from traveling the world being selfish and not worried about much to navigating motherhood! There is a lot to talk about and a lot of lessons I have learned that I want to share with you all!
Since this is my first video, I wanted to share where I started and where I am now. Just so you know a little bit more about why I ended back up in the Faroe Islands.

Nice to see a Faroese person living in the faroes and thankyou for letting people see as I've always wanted to go the Faroe Islands as it is a beautiful place and in a way a well kept secret

Its amazingly beautiful. I hope it has regulations in place to keep it from being overrun by tourists. Community must be incredibly strong there. I bet everyone knows each other, goes to church, etc. That's an incredible place to raise a child just don't let them get addicted to smart phones and social media.

Hi Hello, so I guess I'm one of the 0.5 percent who have heard of the wonderful Froe Islands, and they are still on my visit one day list. I was happy to find this video that talks about the islands and shows glimpses of life there. I'm from Israel (I mention this only for context) and from a very little age I was curious about other countries and also in geography and history, and I used to survey the globe which I had a lot and enjoyed finding all new places, and I was quite interested in islands or small countries and especially small nations with there own language (perhaps this is also somewhat related to what intrigued me Also, what is it like to feel in a country that is a unique nation of small isolated islands, because I also grew up in a relatively small country that formed a kind of island in my childhood in relation to its neighbors, that could not be visited, a situation that in some ways still exists to this day. And later there was a time when I was interested in the Vikings history and in Iceland and then again I met the Faroe Islands.

Maybe not sunny, but one of the most beautiful places, and full of wonderful people. All that rain makes the islands green and full of sheep. Are you Faroese?

Thank you so much for this amazing video and welcome to RU-vid! Faroe Islands is such an amazing place. It's one of a handful of places I'd especially like to call home. Others on that list are Svalbard, Jan Mayen, and the Falkland Islands in the South Atlantic. I wish you the best of luck with RU-vid. I think you'll do well if you're passionate about it. One thing life has taught me in my nearly 40 years of being on this Earth is that if you're passionate about something, you'll always find at least a little time for it no matter how busy you are, but if you've lost that spark and drive, you'll always be too busy for it, no matter how much free time you have. How would you describe the Faroe Islands climate? I've heard "continental maritime" used as a descriptor before. A four seasons climate with cool summers. Where I live the seasons can blend into one another, just a few days ago, on May 2, we had snowfall but in April we had a day that somehow soared to 30 degrees (it's also been almost minus-20 in April before).

Pretty gutted to be honest!!! I'm no eco warrior, no extinction rebellion campaigner, no Just stop oil hypocrite, but in this day and age, food imports etc, as long as dolphins are channeled onto the beach and stabbed to death, peircing their lungs, then these stunning islands is a place I simply cannot visit. Culture is one thing, but not in this day and age.

I'm sorry but the title is hugely misleading. I came here to find out about what it's like to live on Faroe Islands, but this video is mostly about what you've been doing before you moved there.
