@@bertg5294 we have South and North America but the people in the USA consider themselves Americans why people in say Canada considered themself Canadian are people in Mexico considered themself Mexicans so whenever you hear someone say that they're from America they're usually talking about USA
no, we have not. columbus discovered America.1 continent. named after Amerigo vespucci, not North Amerigo, not South Amerigo. Idiot. only Yanks make up this bullshit. The USA has no name, only a discription... North and south are just regions , as is eastern Europe or south-east Asia. Jeses...How stupid are you over there...
I’ve just come back from Holland and I absolutely love it. It’s a very charming, safe and relaxing place. I struggled feeling comfortable in European cities (I’m English) and I always feel like I stick out and have been treated like such an object in Spain and Italy (and here in England lol) I enjoyed chilling and talking to people there! ❤️
I’m an Italian senior high school student who is planning to move to Rotterdam for college, this video gave me a lot of hope for my future life. Dank je wel!
As an Afrikaans man (South African of Dutch heritage) wanting to move to The Netherlands, your insight is very good news to me. Particularly that you're open minded and communicate you're thoughts and feelings directly. This is something very important to me and I struggle a lot with people NOT doing this enough. It really sounds like home. I'm coming home.
I love Amsterdam and what Ive seen of The Netherlands. So precise and symmetrical I find. The directness of folk is refreshing and you in particular have such a clear way of explaining things. Oh and the food is just amazing. ❤️
I'm german and i love the dutch mentality, you all seem generally kind and interested (and not in that fake way). I know many people who study in groningen and i wonder if that enoys you, because there are so many germans there 😅 also i love the fact that you don't sincronise your tv-shows (your english is soo much better than ours) and once again, sorry for my bad grammar/spelling Greetings from your neighbour 💕😇
I live in Groningen and I love that we have so many foreign students! I do wish the housing facilities were better though, lots of foreign students have a hard time finding a place to live.
personally i have no problems with Germans, in our country, its the almost exstinct generation that were young in the second ww, they hated the germans understandably. I would say, the once that are born during the war or short after were of course often told about the war and its cruelties, people under 50 know it only from history lessons at school. i worked in Germany in the mid sixties, i was in a band we played beat music and toured all Starclubs and non starclubs everywhere in Germany. i think they dont exist anymore maybe only the most famous in Hamburg might still exist I think i dont have to explain what a woderful time we had in Germany, later when i was married and had kids we often go to germany not to stay in one place but touring trhou the most beautiful places and towns and cities, the people very friendly but formal, but thats better than being rude or brutal. my wife passed away and my kids are grownup they are around 50 my three sons married with kids ss when i got retired i move to the Philippines i live here 10 years, im very happy here too
I’m half Dutch and definitely have the naturally ‘direct’ approach. I’ve never felt English yet I don’t speak Dutch (my dad spoke Dutch, English, German, Italian and a bit of some other languages)...yet! We may move there sometime soon 😍
The directness has its downside, to be fair. It's one thing to be direct and another to take an active pride in it. It's like Yorkshire that way, sometimes it's a cover for sheer pigheadedness.
I recently made a trip to Netherlands with my mom & brother and stayed in a beautiful peaceful municipality of Purmerend in proximity to Amsterdam . Had an amazing time there & met lot of nice friendly people. Really enjoyed dutch breakfast with hagelslag:) . Would surely love to comeback. Greetings from India
Moving this month from Brazil, cant wait! Love your people and your culture and i cant wait to make more friends and enjoy life, maybe build a family in there! Dutch is love!
Thank you fro your guidelines and tips. That said, I am very keen to make a new life there. I have subscribed and glad you are doing what you do on your channel. :) Dank je.
I am a huge fan of edm and that makes me a huge fan of Netherlands.I love Dutch people from an Indian.Would like to visit this amazing country one day.
Every country has laws I think the main difference is enforcing them! I have never been in Netherlands but have a wonderful feeling about the country. Hard work but very much family oriented as I hear from my friends w lots of breaks, time off, vacation and respect for HUMANS!!
I've been 2x Times in Holland, and now im working on moving there..This the first video i came across and it really gave me a hope that i wasnt tripping about the whole relaxing vibe there. Much love xoxo
Would set my mind on another country. Economy is getting worse day by day. The government is coping with it very poorly. And life standards are decreasing as well. I am living here and thinking of moving out asap.
Can we get a part 2? 😍 it was so relaxing to watch, love your personality! I was a lot of times in Amsterdam, and it's always nice to be back. Love the vibes, and maybe I should discover other places as well :) maybe a video about secret cool places around the Netherlands? 😊
All the old cities are beautiful. Haarlem, Gouda, Leiden, Delft, Zwolle, Maastricht, Leeuwarden, Groningen. Another thing (if you are into modern achitecture ) is Rotterdam. Small places that are beautiful are Edam, Volendam, Urk, Bergen op Zoom (fortress), Naarden (fortress), Bourtange (Fortress). Nature is beatiful in "De hoge Veluwe", Waddenzee, most beaches, Kennemerduinen, Zwartewater (marshland). Neolithic monuments can be seen at the Hunserug in Drenthe. Oh and I forgot the catsles from the middle ages. An Original one at a very good spot in very good condition is Muiderslot, but also Ammersoyen, De Haar, and (creepy) Loevestein are worth a visit and have their own stories to tell. If you like water engineering, take a look at the Oosterscheldedam and the new polders in the IJsselmeer and the Afsluitdijk as well (now being renovated).
I'm an Indian living in the Middle East. My girlfriend and I visited Amsterdam a couple of years ago and we absolutely loved it. We have been planning to live and work in the Netherlands (apart from Canada, Australia and a few other places) and your video was very informative. It would be nice to know what areas around Amsterdam have good accommodation options and how expensive will the travelling costs be from these places into Amsterdam.
The rent in Amsterdam is like renting in Manhattan. Recently in the news there's a 62sqm ROOM for €876 per month. With that alone you can calculate how much is rent for a decent apartment for 2.
@@roshan081990 If you are looking for affordable places outside Amsterdam with a travel time of 30-45 minutes to Amsterdam Central Station, think Purmerend (North of A'dam), Almere (East of A'dam) or Aalsmeer (South of Amsterdam). Those places are suburban and you can find the ordinary Dutchies living over there.
Just wanted to say that you have a total doppelgänger!! I was watching “Haunting of Hill House” on Netflix and you look so much like the character Theo, she’s played by Kate Siegel!
This is so funny, Zoe reminded me of someone of 'Haunting of Hillhouse' too, but I thought she looked exactly like the mom (played by Carla Gugino) instead of Theo! 😂
Hi Zoe, lovely video and super interesting. Sorry am failing terribly on my comment duty, still watching though! Would love to see similar videos about all the other countries you've visited and how it compares, it's always interesting to hear a tourist experience, and you're so eloquent so I feel like you'd have some good points to make! Much love x
Thank you, this was so interesting ! I'm really interested in the Netherlands, everytime I travelled there I felt so much at home, I don't know why. I could definitely feel the relaxed vibe and I met so many interesting people, direct people as you said :D I'm currently studying to become an environmental engineer, how do you feel about the job market? Is it easy to find a job in that area? I'd really like to move there one day ! Hugs from Italy :)
I am an environmental scientist and it depends on what environmental engineering you specialize. Anything to do with electric energy will be in demand here. Landscaping too. And of course water management (but we have enough people here for that).
Great video! I was in Amsterdam for a few times. Very relaxing and down-to-earth vibe. I'm looking forward to moving to the Netherlands for a few months to a year. How's the rent if I were to share an apartment with 2-3 people? Which areas are affordable but also cozy to live in?
that multi language thing is much older, since we have nothing i mean like natural resources like oil gold or silver or even diamonds, we have to find ways to make money, we do that mostly by trade that already started with the VOC united east indian company, we bought spices in the east and sold it for a fortune to the rest of the world, in those days (1600 and onward) we sailed the world and did very well we were for a century the richest nation in the world, basis of this sucess was and is the knowledge of foreign languages, we saw opportunities ,chances and took them very fast we came aware of the importance to learn languages. Yes i learned it also from the radio when i was a kid, l also i sang along with the radio my father had to explain what the words meant. But in order to do trade we had to learn and learn fast,m that mentality is inbread by most of us
NL :) Without judgement towards Germany; but in Germany there's def way more of a hierarchy and "stiffness" in the working field (and on the streets) compared to The Netherlands. The Netherlands has simply more of a free vibe.
Hello! I'm from Italy and I would like to relocate to Amsterdam. What I'm concerned about is learning dutch although peoples usually say english is enough to get by. May I ask if papers, school and everyday things are usually in dutch and english as well or practically everything is in dutch apart from tourist stuff? Cheers and Happy Christmas!
Can I kindly ask you to suggest someone who are able to help me with my future study in The Netherlands? I plan to move there for my postgraduate studying! Have some special questions about it. Thanks in advance!
I'm really grateful you share this knowledge, sweetheart :D When moving to Netherlands from afar, the path is brighter with a reassuring voice.♡ Any advice on cultural acceptance, friendliness & choosing accommodation is very helpful if you have a little time. #Love & #Blessings xxxx
So how is regards finding a job in netherlands I want o come live in netherlands with my dog and I dont know how to find a work in Netherlands also how is regards Full time RVing in netherlands what does law say about that any advice about that would be much appreciated thank you in advance
Very explicit and clear and simple to grasp. Good on you. But one thing you forgot was that Netherlands is a deveoped country thanks to the occupied countries by your forefathers in the days gone by.
I like european countries they are developed and has good infrastructure but cost of living makes some of their life miserable. Basic necessities like internet, food , clothing, rent are costly in some european countries thats why many dutch people stays indoor
Great video. You are such a lovely person! Netherlands sounds great. I have always dreamed of living there. I wonder how it is with teachers there, do they earn sufficient amount of money, are they paid well? And is it a respectable profession, do people respect teachers? Because here in Czech it would be a double no :( Thank you for bringing such joy and love into my life!
Do people respect teachers here? In what way? If you mean that people have some status here? Then no 😂😂😂 Id you mean salary appreciation... Then double no!!! 🤣🤣🤣 If you mean work standards, then triple no!!! 🤐🤐🤐🤐
Remco F. Gerritsen haha! Dat is zo :) ik ken Reeuwijk maar al te goed natuurlijk. Maar voor een buitenlander (zeker met onze kleine afstanden) het is toch aaaaardig “right next to it” ;) Wouldn’t you agree?
I was wondering if I could actually live & work in Amsterdam by working in shops and stuff like that. Just nothing particular. The problem is the language. It scares me a bit. Do you think it actually possible to work while speaking only English? What kind of jobs could English speakers have there?
@@lh999 Haha, that's a different system for sure ;) Here it's just the money that we earn from our salaries/savings. So instead of using creditcards (with money that's in the air, but not actually ours) we use what we already have.
*Living in the Netherlands as a white woman Different etnicities have a different experience how open and relaxed dutch people and the system towards them are
Not a woman but do have a color, I haven't heared anything could be considered to be different for someone with a different background. Also using such a title would prob trigger people the whole wrong way
Being a single mom is no problem if you find a job here and get a work visa. Being African is no problem at all but there are problems with islam in general, so keep that in mind.
our openness is not always understood, often seen as rude, but actualy we want to be understood well no beat around the bush, not like as in other cultures when asked something they say maybe when they mean no and say yes when they mean maybe, they will never so no when they think no, its kinda hypocrit, it saves a lot of time if everybody just say what he or she means.
It's so interesting reading the comments on this video, haha! My boyfriend and I are actually planning on moving to Amsterdam, but I'm SO not looking forward to finding a place to live. 🙃It's so crazy expensive, ugh!
I'm surprised that you talk about the Dutch tolerance but don't address the discrimination gay people or other people from the LGBTQ community get in Amsterdam. Not from the original Dutch people but from what we have imported lately. There are many places in Amsterdam where gay people can't go or at least not show they are gay because these places are islam dominated. To all people from the USA that want to move to The Netherlands. Don't go to Amsterdam. It's the most anti USA place in The Netherlands and a lot of Dutch people are ashamed of Amsterdam. The Netherlands is much more than Amsterdam and all other places are nicer.
Ouch, I used to be really pro Muslim peeps even being a 17-year-old protestant and bisexual which is already something really crazy haha. But now I changed my opinions about them, also I saw a video where a Dutch guy wears a jew hat and walk on the streets and the Muslim people were screaming kanker everywhere. Like wow you are really annoying a native Dutch, there is no reason for an immigrant to get such a bad behaviour. *also I am thinking about living in the south of the Netherlands in the border near germany and Belgium* I am not sure since moving to NL can be expensive asf
@@banksff1136 The increase of hate against people of the LGBT community and jews you see everywhere where there's a large and growing muslim population, but our politicians refuse to see the connection. It's usually group behavior inspired by islam. Funny fact is that some 80 to 90% of the clients that visit the transsexual hookers in Amsterdam are young guys from Morocco (muslims). There are also a lot of gay muslims in The Netherlands but they will keep it carefully hidden to their own muslim community. Most native Dutch people really don't care if you are jew, LGBT, black, white, whatever so I dare to say that the natives are pretty cool and tolerant people.
Dutch Bushcraft - I love how accepting the Dutch are of different ethnicities (even of non-European ethnicities) but if you allow mass immigration, then ethnic Dutch could easily become the minority in their own country in a few years, do you want that? I’m not Dutch but i wouldn’t want that. I support diversity, bc you can learn a lot and adopt things fro other cultures, but some native culture, native people, natives ethnicities should be preserved otherwise you lose your identity and ethnic people which is a shame.
