Always know ; Virginia is a commonwealth state. There r 7 states total that r commonwealth states. Myself Appalachian mountains r always beautiful and the best of all to live in ! Winters can b brutal, u just have to prepare ahead of time. Winter time is when family spends alot of time together.
I own a house on 6 acres of land around Wytheville, VA. I own house near city limits in Fairmont, WV which is my primary residence. The property taxes are pretty similar overall. Due to my wife working for WVU medicine which options out insurance for medical, dental, vision insurance. We have blue cross blue shield for prescriptions and peak for everything else which is typical independent insurance which we would have no matter the state. And like everything else some places do not accept our insurance. All and all I don't find much difference when I am living at house in Virginia in comparison to house in West Virginia. Daily life is similar a little different options in stores/shopping but overall both areas have similar stuff if not the same stuff. The biggest difference as we drive around Wytheville and into Christianburg/Roanoke area it's more flat, a bit cleaner, better upkept, more farm land, and feels better overall quality of life. I was born in Wytheville, I own my grandparents home there(they passed) my wife was born in Fairmont. However, if we actually decide to sell everything and move it won't be to Virginia or West Virginia.
This video reminds me of the blind men describing an elephant. The one who feels the trunk thinks an elephant is like a snake. The one who feels the leg thinks an elephant is like a tree. You’re only describing your tiny part of Virginia.
@@Maryland_Kulak more you go west in to WV it is more wild less developed or more like ravaged by time and economical situation and there is less stores, shops restaurants and you have more dollar generals and not that many gas stations, when you go closer towards Winchester due to proximity to Washinston dc leesburg there is more choices and options where it comes to every day amenities.
I never knew that people get both states mixed up until recently. I've been in Wva my entire life and Virginia once that I can remember but that's been years ago and it was Roanoke Virginia and I really don't remember much about it. I live in kind of like the southern part of Wva surrounded by mountains and I actually live on the side of a mountain lol...Ramp Capitol of the world, so I've heard lol
lol not too many people get them mixed up! Someone joked to me that Winchester is basically West Virginia the other day... couldn't disagree with them more lol Ramp Capitol of the world? No kidding, where's that exactly?
You have a very eastern panhandle biased view of West Virginia. One big plus coming to WV is rural broadband deployment that will allow living in the woods and working remotely anywhere.
Thanks for the feedback! We’re slowly but surely making more content specific to different regions in West Virginia. We’ll try to keep our bias aside in the future when talking about the state in a broader way. We did mention internet in another video. Have you heard of Starlink? I do believe that will also be helpful as to internet for a lot of folks that are more rural
Thanks for the feedback! We’re starting to work that in with our more recent videos. Check it out and let me know what you think! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-cMoLN5JgsaA.html
Two totally different states lol. Dont forget the number one by far in opioid overdose and prescriptions, poverty, obesity, worse oppurtunistic job outlook, worse move out move it state, god awful politics. The weather is the worse too. Unless you like overcast and unpredictable weather. But go ahead. Check it out
We discuss a lot of those items in our other video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2SPb4SpM0_E.html We're working on our video regarding Martinsburg and a lot of folks mentioned local politics too. Do you live in WV? Thanks for watching!
