I understand but for me it’s the opposite - the older I get the more I miss the dry cold of Northern Alberta. I live in Southern Ontario and the dampness is a killer. I don’t actually know if Alaska is a dry cold or damp. I guess that would make the difference.

I was born in Alaska but was moved when very small. I do not have much memory of it. I think of maybe going back someday. I wrote a mostly fictional book (Weak Love and Strong Love) that had a Russian tsar as a character. After choosing him as a character for the book, I read somewhere that in reality he was the tsar that sold Alaska to America. I was very pleased and found it significant I had picked him for the book and then found out he had been the one to sell the state I was born in to America.

If you put all your household waste into a net tied to a long rope with a marker at the other end drop that into the water at the same place every time you can attract crabs and fish to the same spot then set your traps, just have a go and see, you might be surprised at the results, fish and crabs always go to places they know where food is, just the same as us 😁👍

Great Vid on Crabbin Brian. Too bad it were King's. But there will be good catches soon I'm sure. Nice shout out to Ryan & Von's channel. Instant sub of course. I'm hooked on content coming from Alaska now! hahaha.

That was fun! Too bad no Dungeness, but it was interesting seeing the kings. I’m hoping we can get out again this year to go crabbing...one of the best reasons to live here! I’ll also check out that other Alaska off-grid guy’s channel. Sounds cool. Really beautiful drone footage too, wow!

Thanks, Ryan has some great things coming up. I can’t wait to see his mill in action. We re baited the pots yesterday so hopefully we will have some crabs in them tomorrow.

Catching and preserving food for year around is one thing. How to generate enough cash money for fuel and boat repair etc. Etc is another.

I would loved to have been able to keep all those kings and save them for the season to cook. I’d make good use of those 🤤
