Driving those poles in the ground can be a hazel. Take a 600mm length of 75mm pipe weld two side arms and close one end of the 75mm pipe, Put it over the pole and use the side handles to drive the pole in.

My comment went somewhere so here it is again. if it was me I would have used metal plates to strengthen the joints elbows connections because you are using very light lumber. and you need to remember....would it stand up to an 80 mile an hour storm ?

Hi guys! The outhouse is looking great, love the shower basin! If you are doing grey water recycling, the supermarket Mercadona, have a range of eco friendly shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. I use them here on my finca (quinta in Portuguese), as I'm also setting up a water recycling system. The plants close to the ruin with the bright green leaves are irises, you can dig up the tubers and separate them to plant all over, and the patch will grow really large. I love looking around for things by the bins, I've got numerous items of furniture, built an entire greenhouse, and even got trees as well here from the things people leave out! Should think about PVC pipe(rainwater gutter pipe) fill with foundation cement (cement with rocks) some bolts and connect C-Rail steal bearing beams, to make lots of roof area high roofs and no installation..... then just lots of shade cloth, old sheets recycled wood , paper walls Japanese style, just high roofs and lots of gardens is the key...

Hi guys,just a little note you need to fit horizontal timbers between all your upright timbers to give it rigidity. Also a tip I saw on desert survival was to beat the heat was to use 2 sunshades with a gap of about 1 foot between them to really kill the sunlight and keep you cool. Loving the videos enjoy this new chapter in your lives.

Piggy better watch out Hunting season starts of August 15 and runs until the end of February. And it is on Thursdays, Sundays and public holidays. The stone circle you are uncovering is possibly a "threshing Circle" and a place the farmers would have dried there corn and cereal crops.

Van living is fine for a while, but nothing will be as great or fulfilling as your own home! Once the home is completed you will need to invite your neighbor over and make the feral pig the guest of honor at a feast celebrating your planning, dedication, and hard work! Just remember, being feral 74c is the temperature to make sure Mr. pig is safe!

Just a tip and speaking from experience, fencing isa winter job when the soil isn’t so dry.

Hi, really enjoy your videos and two young people learning through trying and making the life you want. Just a small bit of advice, and I know you have limited resources. Don't save a couple of euros to do a job with wrong building materials, such as your floor, because you will end up doing it twice. 2 sheets of 18mm ply or osb would probably last 5 years or so in a wet environment such as your out house where as the mdf material might struggle to last a year. You have a good group of followers and access to Internet use it to your best advantage. One other little thing, try to push some more support under the middle of the floor as in the early video it definitely didn't have any. So all the best 👍 keep on learning and enjoy your new life to the full.

Dan and Laura great tip for siliconeing get a bottle of baby oil cover your hands with it and you can use the silicone like putty role it around in your palms and it won't stick to you also great for smoothing the silicone for the perfect finish.

If you can you should watch another you tube Chanel called Indy project, they are a UK couple. They are in Portugal too and their property was very similar to your (?) and they did a really good stone barn transformation. It wasn’t over night either but they are hard working and their place looks amazing.

It would be an advantage if you also insulated the exterior walls.

I think that hog was looking at your saying, you need to plant some garlic here. Some nice fresh garlic with all these beautiful vegetables will go down a treat. Or you can get a crossbow and have a hog roast ;)

You two are doing great. It's a lot of work of course. But what isn't. One day at a time. The small stairs for the outhouse, i would treat the wood to protect it from water and the elements. Some of the wood is probably already coated with something. But from experience wood on the ground can collect a lot of water and stuff.

Love your re-purposed windows. Boar probably speaks Portuguese, TBH.

Way I pet, your out there sweating buckets while back here we are experiencing bands of rain crossing the UK West to East, bringing well needed replenishment of Mothers natural resources. Hopefully dampening down the earth but as usual with thundery rain comes flash flooding - never a consistency we can absorb quietly and efficiently. So roof on and when sat on the Kasi listen to whatever is dropping above.

I’ve been looking at properties and land like yours but see now as a fit but 52 year old, it’s probably more than I could accomplish alone. Love to see you guys succeeding though.

Also my Bro I was looking into wind and water turbines which are good energy conductors at very reasonable prices on eBay along with portable 1000w felxi solar panels and there a good deals on powerfully solar lights which are also so reasonable in pricing but are really bright just some ideas hope all is going well.

I subscribed your channel last week and love the videos, you have so many good ideas for your property. Be carefull with "javalis" because they destroy everything. Your fence should be reinfoced because of them.

Portugal seems to make quite a bit more sense than the people who try doing this in Alaska or wherever.
