Simon Stiles had a vision: to build his own solar powered sailboat in the southern Gulf Islands of B.C. to have the freedom to live wherever he wanted.
In this video, Simon arrives on Gabriola Island to begin restoring and outfitting a broken old boat to fulfill his dream of living on the waters and off-grid. With no prior experience, he makes mistakes and learns life changing skills and lessons along the way.

Been a big fan of Finding Simon since his first Campervan and he definitely was a big inspiration for us to start our version of van life here in Malaysia which has somehow also led us to sailboats. Simon you're right about learning new skills and immersing into a like minded community. Thank you for sharing what you learn.

I have been watching Finding Simon for a few years now. His videos are very real life and show the challenges of taking on a difficult project. He figures it out and shares both his successes and failures with his fans. He shares his fun adventures as well. And there is Honey, his fateful and fearless pooch. I wouldn't miss an episode.

So depressing a generation of Canadians will be basically homeless because of our addiction to money printing, mass immigration and NIBMYism by municipal governments on housing developments. But yea that's a neat boat!
