I loved my 2008 Victory Vision. It was a gift to myself after my time spent in Iraq in 2007. Rode it to 70,000 miles, and traded it on my 2010 Crossroads. I only have 30,000 miles on it. No real problems with either bike! Now my GF is wanting the Vision back, as the CR isn't as comfy for her.
Front fender recall is now available as an "enhancement" for any bike that does not already have it done. It amounts to a brace they add to the rear part of the front fender. If that plastic part is cracked at the time they will also replace it with a new piece then add that brace. Visible from the outside of the fender is 2 small cap screws that hold the brace against the front fender.
Yep, I have had mine done. It does not prevent the potential cracking, just keeps the fender from separating and getting caught against the fairing. Thanks!
Thanks for the review, it is Aug 2018 and a friend sold me his 2013 Cross Country last year and I am absolutely in love with the bike: I want another touring. I think the looks on a Vision is knock out. I want to get a 2012 and up after seeing your review, but if a good deal on any come up: (I will keep my Anti freeze Green Cross Country of course).
Thanks DaBreadman01. No bike is perfect, but Victory did a lot of things right with the Vision...and a few things that still need improvement. Hopefully they will keep it around and put those new water cooled engines in an upgraded version.

Interesting that I am today, considering buying the 2009 Vision and I am going to be trading in my Vulcan 900. Test drove the bike and it rides like a dream. It only has 12000kms on it, though it was left outside exposed to the elements and not ridden for a couple of years. Unless you really look over the bike hard the only that stands out is the windshield is very foggy. So for a couple hundred bucks and some elbow grease on my part, I will be getting one hell of a bike for $8000
Have you ever considered the Cross Country? I'm torn between buying either the Vision or the CC. I've ridden both when the Fuel It tour came to my Victory dealership and I prefer the ride, handling and fit better on the Vision. Also, cant beat those old school classic car lines! Dig the hat. Looks like my Peter Grimm hats.
I have ridden the Cross Country and it is a very nice bike, but I already owned the Vision and feel it is more comfortable and handles better than the Cross bikes. We are talking about small differences, you really cannot go wrong with either bike. I also agree about the lines of the Vision. Some only see space ship, but I see classic cars from the 30's or 40's or even a bit of 60-70's Vette. The hat is from Bailey's of Hollywood.
One odd question…does it cook the contents of the side bags? The first long trip I took on my Honda ST1300 resulted in melted prescription drugs. The side case got so hot it melted the pills in a bottle. It is my understanding that ST1300s have catalytic converters in the mufflers under the side cases. In general, the bike gets quite hot in warm weather. I carried it in a tank bag or top case after that. Hot bags wouldn’t necessarily keep me from buying one, but it would help me decide where to carry medication.
I was looking to buy a boat when I saw this Victory Vision, and...it looks like it can do the job. Wonder how it would fare across the Atlantic? Hmmm...
Thank you! I have not seen one, but at one time there was one available through Witchdoctors. From what I understand it was difficult to install, limited cornering clearance and did not lift the rear wheel off the ground. Check their site and see if it is still available.
None of the model years came standard with reverse, other than the 2009 aniversary edition...at least to my knowledge. Reverse was always an upgrade. The 2012 and above will have ABS and the newer transmission. Thanks!
Sold my 11 vision 4 years ago. Bad mistake 😞. Bought it back from the guy I sold it to.. Couldn't find a better bike to ride.. How's your bike holding up ?
I'll kept my victory but I downsided to a royal Enfield, Himalayan. Lots of fun. Slower pace and back roads.😊. I guess that happened when you get older. LOL 😆
On my 2009 Vision, I had the fork for 2nd gear go out and Victory took my bike and it went to Spirit Lake so they could figure out what went wron and after 9 months I still didn't have it back so I traded it in for a 2013. I now have 60k on it and I will ride it till the wheels fall off. JustBob
@@LivingOffTheSlab I don't understsnd why they didn't replace the fork. This was in 2012 and the bike had s little over 65k on it. The guy who owned AZ Victory in Tucson was a good guy but in this case I believe he was a little shady. Never th less I got most of what I paid for the 09 off the bike so I didn't complain too much about it.
Hello,ive got a 2014 vision tour with 10k miles on it. Its in close to new condition,i think my rear shock has started leaking oil, but i havent found any info on it, so i thought Craig might know lol, do you have any idea hoe big a deal this would be to fix?
I have not done the job myself so dont want to lead you astray. I would suggest either joing the VMC and checking out their technical forum, or I believe their is a Facebook group called Service my Vic where you might get some help.
+Craig Ripley (Living Off The Slab) My 2011 abs went out 4 times now,the 2nd gear went out, both axle went bad with wheel bearing at 12k. the abs is still out Headlight been replaced 3 time ,hid head light went out caught the wiring on fire. Leg fairing been replaced twice side light fell off been replaced. Cruise control been worked on 3 time.and on and on...
+trell416 Wow! Luckily this has not been my experience nor any of the folks I ride with. There of course have been issues here or there, but nothing to the extent that you listed. I do not have ABS on my bike, but I have heard of folks having problems with the ABS and the cruise control. In particularly if something was added to the bike, such as keyless ignition or a plug for heated gear. The disruption in current seems to negatively affect the cruise and ABS--this is not just on the Vision. Not my place to make excuses for Victory, I would not be happy either if I had all those problems.
Any problems when it's hot and your moving with heat on the passengers legs? I was in 114 outside Amarillo on my Harley and reached back to the passenger floor boards and if my wife would have been with me her feet would have cooked. I ride a Wing when my wife is with me so this is no issue but I am looking for another tourer. Thanks I enjoy you posts
If you are thinking of the Vision as an option wait until this summer (2015). There are pretty legitimate rumblings that Victory is ready to launch a 'new' Vision or replacement to it that may incorporate a water cooled engine.
I swore I answered this, but I don't see my reply, so I will try again...sorry. If you look at a 2011 or 2012 that will get you the most for your money. You will get ABS and the new transmission.

No, after 10 years it was time to move on. It was a great bike, but just wanted something a bit lighter and better handling. Ended up with a BMW K1600GTL.
@@jaystephen5944 They are very different bikes. The BMW is lighter, faster, handles better and stops better. It is a better bike in almost every way. The one thing the Vision is better at is comfort. The beemer is not uncomfortable, but most people will like the ability to stretch out on the Vision. The Vision also has better wind protection with the big fairing. It all depends on what you are looking for.
