UCLA brings back a lot of great memories. Westwood is a safe, clean, and fun town, and you don't need a car to get around. Your only a few miles from Beverly Hills, the Sunset Strip, and Malibu. The education is great and it's a nice, diverse student body. It is a pain to have to drive out to the Rose Bowl for game days, but for the prestige, education, and good times, you can't beat it. Go Bruins.
UCLA is one of the top schools in America (I am an alumni). It is more competitive to be admitted into than SDSU and most students are very academically focused. You should also consider location. UCLA is in Los Angeles and in a fantastic neighborhood and SDSU is 4 hours south in San Diego, still a good place, but different. Of course I am biased since I went there, but if you got admitted to both schools, choosing UCLA would be a no brainer for most people! :)
Im in Middle School and my brother goes here =] after seeing this i really want to go. Ive got in some trouble with the school and things like that but hopefully that stuff doesnt effect my chances of goin here
If you don't get excepted after high school because of your GPA, go to a community college and get the highest grades u can get and transfer. That would be my advice for you that wishes to go there but can't because of your GPA.
@JasonGriggs25 You don't know if you don't apply. I think your chances are good if you have a decent SAT score and write a great application. I loved the on-campus life at UCLA.
Geez when I was at UCLA there was Dykstra Rieber Hedrick in Sproul and you had no options food wise you took your tray a lady with a hairnet would plop whatever they were offering down on your tray and that’s what you ate
UCLA IS MY DREAM SCHOOL!!!. The last 3 years ive worked as hard as i can on my golf to get a scholarship and wont stop until i do. How hard is it to get a mens golf scholarship and have you any advice??
Oh my gosh looking at this video, it just gives me more reasons as to why I should apply for this uni soon. I'm doing A levels though...but of course i'll have to take the ACT and SAT as well to enter. Fees ain't a problem....just getting accepted might be my downfall since the entry requirements are quite demanding. 92% of UCLA students have a high school GPA of 3.75+ which is pretty damn astounding!
UCLA looks amazing! My best friend studies in University of Cambridge but he's dying to transfer into UCLA. He'd be completing his first year of University in August, would you guys still accept transfers?
@FlameFury117 Depends bro. Guessing you are fresh out of high school? You will need at least a 1700 in the SAT and not really sure about the ACT. A 3.4 is the lowest that they will look at. You will also need the 2 essays and lots of extra-curricular activities.
i live in australia, where unfortunately everyone chooses to live at home instead of on campus. ironically i was born in LA, but moved here when i was little. i would LOVE to have uni life in america and live on campus. is there any way to transfer there? im doing a law degree in nsw, australia, but i wouldn't want to start from scratch...
Can I live with who I want? Like I want to live with my friend in the same dorm. Only single and triple housing in UCLA? How about double housing? And I want to become a doctor, can I go to UCLA?
My avg GPA is a 3.3. I've had to retake one class because I got a 69% and I have an A now. What do you think I might need to do yo be accepted or even considered? I've always wanted to go to ucla and I also play 2 sports.
Hey I'm interested into UCLA i want to attended there right after high school. I have a over all GPA of a 3.8 and I'm in band, the debate team, and the soccer team this summer i plan to do volunteer work is that enough?
I imagine the medical students of UCLA will be very disappointed to discover that UCLA Hospital only cares about profit and does not care about patients at all. I'm sure that's not why most of them decided to become healers.
I recommend that you avoid Los Angeles at all costs... everything is overpriced, high crime rates, overpopulation, obnoxious/antisocial people, poor transport systems, traffic is hell... Why does everybody insist that this is such a great place for learning? This video proves that living on campus is one big diversion from learning. The only thing you'll learn is how to become a bigger party animal.
LOL, I graduated from UCLA and didn't even like the school. I have zero bruin pride. However, USC isn't any better. I visited the campus for the first time back in 2001. It was a weekday evening and all the students were crowded outside the dorms like a bunch of ghetto high school students during lunch break. And this was at 7PM. At least UCLA students didn't gather around in 100-person crowds for no reason. UCLA is shit, but USC is even shittier. HTH
Haha the white guy with the fohawk (30sec into the video) reminds me of the white guy that comes out on the dave chappelles version of the real world haha is that really him? Also I think one of those girls went to napa highschool . I can't remember her name but I'm pretty sure that's her.
