Hi Hollie, I am new to your channel. I have watched many of your videos to catch up and you are such a delight. It is refreshing the way you talk us through every room at the same time giving background as to how you come up with your ideas. I just finished watching this video which has left me so excited to see your ideas for Fall. Your home is indeed beautiful, cozy and so inviting. I think I am in the minority but I liked your furniture the other way however I have one suggestion. The table behind the couch, try moving that to the foyer wall. This way you can move your couch back a bit and open the room a little bit more. Your window looking outside is too beautiful to cover the view with the table the way you have it now. I am a former real estate agent who had to rearrange a lot of furniture to balance the room. Your living room is lovely either way but myself, I do like the former look. Your viewers offer suggestions at your request but the rule is you must love your home so however you find comfort and beauty is exactly how it should be. Again, I really enjoy your personality and look forward to all that you share. Thank you for bringing the fun!

I like the way you have it now and when you are sitting on your couch you will be able to look straight at your trees and fireplace when you have it going...plus the more open it is to...I would leave it for the holidays and if you want to go back the other way you can...LOVED this video also...

I love hearing your ideas...I say go all out, keep this arrangement, definitely keep the mirror up in that corner to reflect your decorated trees for the seasons! You are so creative! Great visions! Thanks for sharing... oh and I love mercury glass, too!

Fun chat! My opinion; yes to the tree in the nook and fun fall mantle, and leave the furniture for awhile. In the foyer, mix real and fake pumpkins, and you might need to add some filler like leaf garland and straw(bales) to fill it more affordably. When all the teachers are done with their classroom jack o’lanterns I’ve brought them home to treat the cows, so maybe it would make spending on real ones a little less painful. 😁

I agree keep the furniture like this and decorate it will be a different look. I love it, it is so opened. I think it will look great all decorated for the fall and Christmas.

Well, I'm inspired now. Thank you Holly. August, it's hot...I think I'm going for Sunflowers and green squash colors and then transition to the oranges and fall colors. Yep, I rearranged my front room too. I like the change...and Christmas tree next to fireplace, perfect coziness. Holloween tree .. I'm doing branches in and old milk can..(really it's a cream can, it's smaller) the branches have natural stickery bobbles, so it's half decorated to start with...So now, I will make it holloween style. Holly, If you do a REAL live Christmas Tree and sit it next to the fireplace be sure not to lite the fireplace too often, nor for very long as the Hot Heat will dry out your tree !!! (Hold off lighting the fireplace till mid December or just super cold nights. Mist the tree after fires if it won't damage your ornaments, and sit your humidier close by.) Could you put your tree in the office since you have glass windows and close your office heat vent, to preserve your tree longer? Just a thought since you will probably have your live tree up for 5-7 weeks. For the best of both worlds, you could place a super tall thin faux tree next to the fireplace.....and your fat live tree will make your office smell so good!

Such a fun video! Would love more of these through the seasons. I am in the minority here but I really did like your furniture the way you had it prior to this arrangement. I loved the couch in a position where you had the outside view. I can imagine that window view decked out for Christmas! Oh what a beautiful sight to watch the days turn into night with all the holiday lights. Everything you do is so pleasing so whichever you choose with be perfect. I love the new furniture arrangement. The way it was before cut off the flow of room. I am not a fan to decorate for Halloween , but I do love to decorate for Fall. I do love a live Christmas Tree but I live in a condo and they are not allowed. I hope to sell in the future and buy a house and then I can have a real tree. I love your ideas. I really would love a fireplace as well. I love the new arrangement, don’t change it!

I like the way you and Drew would have a great view of the decorations. Yes, it would be so jive to snuggle in and see it all. Thumbs up on the gaudy fireplace. I’m getting fall leaf garland for my first time as well. I think even maybe do something big on the opposite side where the lantern is. My girlfriend did that and it looked so good.

(Thoughts of cooler weather will get us through the next heatwave, too:) I think you should decorate around the new furniture arrangement for the upcoming seasons, with big pops of decoration in a few places, as you said, rather than spread evenly throughout the space. Perhaps adding a little late summer-early fall stuff--like sunflowers/bowls of fruit or corn/sprigs of hay in baskets...can ease the look into fall?

Fill your dough bowl with newspaper or grocery bags, cover with moss or something, then put your pumpkins on top. That way you don't have to use as many.

Leave furniture and decorate where it is. I'm not a big halloween person so no comment on that. You could use pinecones with the pumpkins when you decorate the foyer. They would be a good filler and something from nature. I noticed that you took the strings of lights down in the living room. . Do what makes you and Drew happy. I like the clean slate for decorating in the future.

Love looking at books and if you will go to half price books and buy the old magazines you will get so many ideas. The new looks are more simple. The older books are more is more. Usually the traditional ones. I don’t see a lot on Pinterest for Christmas that are unique. I’ll let you know if I get some of my seasonal pics on my Instagram.

Yes, go through old books and magazines from used book stores and thrift stores. The older the better. I always decorate the way I remember when I was a little girl. I’m now 69 and everyone always loves my decorating so much that they take pictures when they’re at my house. I think it’s because everyone else is doing the same thing and my stuff is old and different than what’s out there now. Not that there isn’t nice stuff out there because there is but years ago people didn’t over decorate or spend a lot so they brought things in from outside and made decorations from simple inexpensive items mostly bought in the 5 &10 cent store like Woolworth. I like your room both ways but it’s always nice to be facing the fireplace.

The shopping channel QVC has nice things. I have bought many things there. It saves having to go look for stuff. I have returned very little. Valerie Par Hill carries a nice line of decorative items. Leave your current arrangement and put the tree next to the fireplace. If this feels good to you, you ought to do it! 🌻
