Isn't it kind of strange how things can turn out to be? My wife and I lived in Turkey for a year and then felt it was time to go to another country for at least a year. After just more than a week out of Turkey, we already feel like going back. There is something in Turkey that makes you want to go back. The main thing is the Turkish people - we love them.
I entirely understand that. There is no other place that has a draw on my heart like Turkey does, other than my own country. There is something about Turkey that utterly captivates you. I'm lucky I've experienced that and I feel sorry for all those people who don't understand the appeal of Turkey. They don't know what they are missing.
What a wonderful video! As I mentioned in one of my previous comments that I’ve been to Istanbul and Bodrum and whenever I talk about Turkey,I automatically develop a sense of inner happiness. This country has mesmerised me-the first thought that comes to mind is it’s people and how kind and hospitable they’ve been to us,then the beauty of the country and last but not least the famous Turkish cuisine. That’s Turkey for me in a nutshell.
We’ve never been to Turkey but will definitely be going in the future, these videos show how beautiful people are all over the world , the less people seem to have the more they will give true all over the world, absolutely fantastic video . Keep it up guys 👍
Wow, stunning views and that "secret" waterfall, beautiful! Whom would think that a tea farm lies on that hillside? The Turkish people seem so hospitable. Great video, keep up the real life experiences.
So loved seeing this family you stayed with. What a most wonderful "secret place" you were shown. We all need to be kind to our mother earth so we can always enjoy such beautiful nature as you have found there in Turkey. Thanks you two and thank you to your host family in Artvin.
Hands down one of our favourite videos of yours! It looks like the most beautiful mountain retreat, and Yaşar is such a legend! Chris - 'and then he started spraying me with smoke' 😂😂 This was a really special video though, showing a side of Turkey very few get to see. Seeing how much you love what you do, interacting with locals and getting to the soul of a place is one of the many reasons we love you and your videos so much 💕
Thanks neighbours !! Well we had a fabulous day out today !! And I can not wait to see your video of the experience xx we love you too !! see you in a minute for dinner !! Love Marianne xx
Welcome back to your second home. I know you have been back for a number of weeks but I bet it felt so good and familiar when you arrived. Turkey really does leave a special place in the heart. You have def been adopted by Turkey and no better ambassadors could be had xx
Wow! What an amazing little corner of Turkey. Turkey never ceases to amaze me, and they were such a nice little family. Thank you for sharing your travels with us!
Back to good old Turkey, you will feel "at home" once again. You two are absolutely amazing. You get involved in so many wonderful/hair raising experiences😀 Stay Safe, Happy onward Traveling. 🏴🏴🏴❤️
Would love to see the country side of Turkey and the farming. Love Turkey and the Turkish people. What a beautiful waterfall, what was the weather like? Can imagine everyone under and behind the waterfall, my adult grandchildren would love it.
Fantastic video Chris and Marianne so glad you’re back in Turkey, I know you’re travel vloggers and want to travel but I’d be happier if you just traveled around Turkey with it’s beautiful scenery and genuinely lovely people. I think Russia will be disappointing and to be honest most places will be disappointing after Turkey 👍
It will be hard to beat - but the world is full of wonderful people and moments and we love to travel and share - we will try and surprise you with lots of new places over the next 20+ years !! Marianne 🌺👍
Tea trees are planted on the slopes of the hills because tea requires a lot of rain but not stagnant water. So if its on the hills where it rains a lot, the water will not stay at the base of the trees rather it will flow downwards. That is why almost all tea gardens/ plantations are on the slopes of the hills. When I first saw them as a kid in my country, I had the exact same question cuz I was asking isn't it harder to collect tea when its on a slope? That is when I got to know why (among other things like it needs to be in the higher altitude for good flavour etc). Awesome vlog as always. Love & respect from Bangladesh.
I love those who go to many different parts of Turkey like you do. because most people visit only 2-3 cities of turkey and think that all turkey is the same. In fact, each region in Turkey has different traditions and cultures like a separate country.
I always wanted to visit Artvin however, i couldnt make it so far. As a turkish person i can say that people of that region (Artvin) are very friendly and calm, also Artvin has great nature. While you are there i hope you are making the most of your trip.
I don't believe it. Marianne and Chris are visiting my home city, Artvin. It is so wonderful to see my birthplace through your eyes. Enjoy your trip guys and say hi to my people:)
What a beautiful place and Yaşar and his wife are lovely - did you know that in that region of Turkey in Hopa they speak a different language also: Laz - look forward to rest of your journey xxx
This was so cool. Amazing staying at local accommodation. How you didn’t fall down that tea picking hill. That waterfall spot at the end was truly magical. Amazing! Thanks for sharing 🍻
Yaşar and his family are such lovely people! He knows some good secret places -- "magical" is exactly the word to describe that waterfall. 😱😱 A wonderful respite in a beautiful place after two days of bad roads and a stressful border crossing. ❤❤😎👍xx
