your comment in regards to the traffic light sensors, its was my experience with the mogs used by the army that not all lights are controlled by camera sensors, some are tripped by magnetic strips in the road surface and due to the height of of the mog it will not register
That’s interesting about the traffic lights. I have actually installed a SCATS system at a weigh bridge once many years ago. The clearance of the vehicle is so good that the sensor can’t detect the truck. You need a detachable piece of metal hanging low off the axle/diff just for traffic lights.
Mw U1300L ex bundeswehr....cheap to own (except tyres) I,ve had mine 10 years....I was a trucker..tighten wheel nuts until they 'crack'....ps that sound....'crack' it's FREE has been for decades...
Ground sensors can’t pick up a vehicle with such a high clearance maybe the reason. Weird? Maybe some old Army drivers out have experienced the same thing. Even when you use a torque wrench still get out and check them a second time.
Just a tip for young players, if you need a torque wrench for really high torques, you can just use a smaller cheaper torque wrench but use an extension bar to increase the torque. Wrench-Setting = Desired-Torque × (Length-of-Wrench / Length-of-Wrench + Extender)so don't spend a thousand dollars on a huge torque wrench that you may only use once in a blue moon, just weld up an extension bar.
Hi Thabo. I don't know if you are aware of this, but those blue triangles under the wheel bolts are indicators. When you torque the bolts, you should line the indicators up with another bolt's indicator, so you end up with 3 pairs with the points of the indicators lined up. The reason behind this is that you have an instant visual indicator if a bolt becomes loose. If you already know this, my apologies, but I thought better to mention it. All the best.
Don’t need the headaches, or the vehicle to be honest, but very envious! Simple Excellence for purpose, German! Thanks, and you pay more for diesel fuel, yikes.
@@ThaboNelmeanshappiness ill have to do the same when i get one. I know that scooter users do it often but they are closer/lower so could use a smaller one.
Depends, I got lucky and bought a near-perfect machine, my mate Shane's mog has problems but he is fixing it, you need to be good with your hands and have the time to work on it. My main problem now is the price of diesel, there is no way I am doing a 6-week trip, that's thousands of dollars just on fuel.
