Ann Rene' The trick is if they are on top of the sheets, you can just lift them up like a little kitty hammock, slide under, and lower them back down. I've gotten to where my cat barely even twitches when I do this.

+scarletfluerr - I sleep with 4 - 5 cats on the bed. After getting up (not easy to do) sometimes I have to go to the couch to sleep because they're all over the bed and I can't get back on it.

Exactly, MY bed was property of my cat for a number of years until for whatever reason she lost interest in sleeping there. Guess who was mostly stuck sleeping on the couch during that time?

Surma Wolfsoul - I generally persuade a cat to move over so I can get into bed by killing them with kindness. Petting them and showering them with praise for a few minutes usually works, even if I have to gently try to push them gradually. They get tired of the interruption. Or I just start getting into bed and oops, didn't know you were there! Also noisily putting some kitty krunchies into a small bowl beyond the bed might work. Just filling a water bowl elsewhere in the room can also do it sometimes. One cat long ago was a different problem. She didn't want me to go to bed and would attack my feet as I headed to bed. In bed, she would go after whatever was visible beyond the covers. I would have to pick her up, get into bed, and then toss her off the bed and quickly duck under the covers. She calmed down by the time we went to grad school together.

I don't see how people would think that pets comfort is less then their guests their guest are only there for a short time while their kitties/pets are there for the rest of their natural born lives. That's why I am more concerned with my pets comfort then guests. The pets live there

My two furry babies kidnap hair ties, zip ties, stuffed animals, plastic bags, and strangely enough bras. They've figured out how to open closed and locked drawers, doors, and cupboards by jiggling the locks lol.

Cole and Marmalade Asia Williams I had a kitty named Sammy who LOVED shrink wrap, you know that plastic stuff on CD's? When ever he heard the sound of it, he'd even awaken from a nap to come have a chew. He LOVED the stuff! A little too much. I had to supervise his chewing, holding it in my hand while he did so it wouldn't disappear down his throat!

All furniture and countertops belong to my cat. He is generous and kind enough to let me use one-half of his bed.

My cats prefer the Talking Cat videos but Cole and Marmalade are child friendly. The compromises we make for our kids- human and furr kids.

My cat likes to chew paper ribbons. I'm usually careful, but my daughter is not. Now paper ribbons are banned, after a hefty $400+ bill from the vet.

My cats come running when I use the lint roller. They love the sound.

We use then when we either inhale more fur than hair or when we need to look human instead of a kitty pillow ;)
